After sending Garry away, Everly looked at the time. Edmond wasn't back yet.

She decided to call Edmond. Then a voice came from the elevator. It sounded like Edmond. "There."

Everly put away her phone. She left the room key in the room. So, she leaned against the door to keep it open while waiting for Edmond.

Not long after, Edmond came out of the corner with a tall man.

When Edmond saw Everly at the door, he immediately ran over. "Mommy."

Everly couldn't help but look at the man behind Edmond.

She seemed to have met him at the airport.

Everly hadn't seen the man clearly at the airport. Now that she looked closely at his face, she felt she might have seen him somewhere else. But she couldn't remember it.

This man dressed like an executive in the company.

"Mommy, this uncle brings me back." Edmond was very polite. He turned to the man and said, "Uncle Jayden, thank you for sending me back."

But Jayden thought to himself, "This lady can't even take good care of her son."

He didn't know if Everly did it on purpose. But how did she manage to appear in front of Mr. Maverick twice in a day?

And she lived in the same hotel.

Jayden couldn't help but think that Everly did it on purpose.

He nodded slightly to greet Everly. Then he turned around and left.

Everly had been in the workplace for many years. She could tell what Jayden was thinking from his eyes.

So, she pulled Edmond into the room, put her hands on her waist and questioned him, "Where did you go?"

"I went out for a walk." There was a model in Edmond's hand.

"What is this?" Everly took it from his hand.

Holy. It was the model that Edmond wanted so much.

"Where did you get it?" Everly was very worried that Edmond might steal it.

But Edmond looked very pleased. "I just met a handsome man. He bought it for me."

"Who?"

That man must have a taste as unique as Edmond. He even bought such an expensive model for Edmond.

"You don't know him. I'll introduce you to him later." Edmond took the model back and raised his eyebrows. "Mommy, don't work on the computer all day long. There are handsome guys out there. He can protect you. I will introduce him to you."

Everly was speechless.

She wanted to ask further, but her phone rang. Edmond took the opportunity to escape and carefully hid the model. Then, he walked towards the bathroom, humming out of tune.

Everly laughed and went to the balcony to answer the phone.

It was Brielle Cooper, her boss in the US.

After hearing Brielle's words, Everly frowned slightly. "Brielle, does the company arrange it?"

"No! We're just lucky! Now that you two stay in the same hotel, it's pretty convenient for you. I've got Maverick's room number." Brielle sighed, "Everly, I've got the news. They've cut 30% of our profits. It's a big blow to us."

What?

They demanded such a low price?

Everly bit her lips and hesitated. "But it's improper to get to a man's room at night."

"What are you worrying about? You send him our proposal. I didn't ask you to sleep with him."

Everly wanted to say something, but Brielle continued before she opened her mouth. "Don't think too much. It's always difficult to promote projects now. The Lamont Group wanted to cut 30%, but I think that they are very likely to change their mind. They don't care about the compensation. And you know, they're the best option for our project."

Brielle had always treated Everly well, so Everly agreed in the end.

Putting away her phone, Everly stood on the balcony and enjoyed the breeze for a while.

After so many years, Everly finally returned to this city. She did not tell anyone that she was back. However, her brother wouldn't let her stay outside for a long time. The Farleys would find her soon.

Everly wasn't afraid to face them. Otherwise, she wouldn't have brought Edmond back.

After thinking for a while, Everly decided to finish her work now. After the project was done, she could apply for a transfer back to China.

After eating something, Everly took Edmond to bed. Everly followed Brielle's instructions and went to Maverick's room.

When she went up, she was thinking if there would be bodyguards at the door. And she did see two tall men in black standing there.

Everly bit her lips as she thought how to drive them away and knock on the door.

Everly pondered for a few minutes, and a light went off in her mind.

She took out her phone and called Garry, who had come to pick her up at the airport. She wanted Garry to call the receptionist of the hotel.

Garry asked, "What should I say?"

"Just tell her that there are reporters downstairs. And some of them are coming up from the back stairs," Everly said, "When the bodyguards know it, they will go to check it. I can knock on the door after they leave."

"Wow, Everly, you're so smart. But I think Maverick will get mad."

"Don't mind about it. We need to see him and show him our proposal first."

"That makes sense."

About five minutes later, the two bodyguards at the door moved.

It was said that Maverick didn't get along well with the other Lamonts. Now that he had taken over the Lamont Group, he used strong-armed methods to throw many senior executives out of power. Therefore, he did not live at the Lamont's. And he went everywhere with his bodyguards.

As Everly expected, a bodyguard walked to the elevator, and the other one headed to the back stairs.

Everly immediately ran to the room.

She was going to knock on the door when someone happened to open it from inside.

So, she failed to take her hand back in time.

Coincidentally, her hand fell and hit the man's chest.

Everly was stunned and took her hand back as if she got an electric shock.

Their eyes met.

Everly gave up staring at him first.

Because she blushed and almost couldn't breathe.

The man got wet black hair. He was almost half naked. He had an excellent body and beefy pecs. Because he just took a shower, water was flowing down his body.

Everly's gaze followed the water droplet down.

She saw the towel on the man's waist, his muscle line, and....

"Are you just gonna stare at me?"
