A Pigeon Pair: Sweetheart, Let's Get Married novel Chapter 21

Everly contacted someone in the United States. If Edmond wanted to start the kindergarten here, she had to go back.

Back then, when she gave birth to him, she had asked someone to register so that Edmond could have a legal identity.

Actually, it was a long story.

It was not convenient to make a phone call during working hours, so she sent a text message and described her situation in it.

Garry moved closer. "Miss Everly..."

Everly put away her phone and said, "What's up?"

"Mr. Neil wants to see you."

"Mr. Neil?"

"Yeah, I guess he wants to return your coat." At the party, he had her coat all the time.

Everly wasn't very familiar with the company. Garry told her where Neil's office was, but it still took her a long time to find it.

It was not on her floor. Just as she got out of the elevator, she saw Neil standing at the elevator door with her coat on his wrist.

Everly was surprised, but Neil spoke first, "Everly?"

He directly called her name in the company. Though Everly felt a little strange in her heart, she was somewhat slow in some aspects and didn't figure out what the feeling was. She pointed at the coat hanging on the man's arm and said, "General manager, this is mine. I forgot to take it back, I'm sorry. Thank you."

As she spoke, Neil had stepped into the elevator.

But he didn't hand over the coat to her. "Everly, I saw you at a meeting at the American company last time. Did you remember?"

Did he?

Everly tried her best to recall it, but she couldn't remember.

Just as she was about to speak, the elevator suddenly stopped. Someone stopped it and when the door was opening, Neil said, "Actually, I told Brielle that you were going to come back anyway. Now that you've been transferred back, let me know if you find it hard to fit in. Don't worry, although the person controlling LAL has been changed, I won't let you lose your job."

As he spoke, the elevator door was open. Everly saw a tall man along with his white shirt at a glance.

" ... This is your coat. I had someone wash it."

In fact, Everly did not hear Neil's words clearly because she smelt a special masculine scent.

Her attention was distracted.

At the entrance of the elevator, the standing man had a cold expression and a gloomy look in his eyes.

Everly felt that she was insane.

Otherwise, why would she feel like being caught in adultery?

What the hell.

She frowned and suppressed this bizarre thought.

Neil saw the man in front of the elevator and greeted him, "Oh, it's Mr. Maverick."

Generally speaking, people like Maverick definitely didn't like sharing an elevator with others. Besides, this elevator was of medium size, and there were already two people in it.

However, in just a few seconds, the man at the door lifted his long legs and walked into the elevator.

Neil was surprised and stepped aside.

Everly didn't greet him from the moment she saw him to now. At this moment, the word "Mr. Maverick" was stuck in her throat, and for some reason, she found it embarrassing to say it out.

How would Neil know that Maverick and Everly had had a lot of "clashes"?

He knew how he was looking at Everly, and he didn't conceal that.

Right now, Everly's coat was still on his arm. He flattered himself by thinking that Everly's relationship with him was somewhat special.

Therefore, Neil made a move that he felt was normal.

He stretched out his hand and gently pulled Everly's arm. The building was heated, so Everly did not wear a coat and her sleeve was slightly rolled up by him. She couldn't help frowning and moved away when her fair and tender arm was touched by an unfamiliar man.

The inner surface of the elevator was as shiny as a mirror.

Maverick's eyes seemed to have caught something. His handsome face was still expressionless, but he didn't notice that his gaze had become affectionate.

Neil was embarrassed as he said, "Everly, hurry up and greet our new boss. From now on, we will be under the Lamont Group."

The corner of Everly's mouth twitched and she said awkwardly, "... Mr. Maverick."

She calmed down and asked, "Which floor is Mr. Maverick going to?"

Maverick did not answer. His expression was chill. He wished he could freeze this small elevator.

Jayden, who was beside him, coughed softly and said, "There will be a meeting. Mr. Neil, it just so happens that you are here. Get the documents ready later. I contacted you yesterday."

Neil smiled and said, "No problem."

He then elbowed Everly and said, "The conference room."

Everly did not like the rude and intimate attitude he had.

She thought to herself that she was not familiar with Neil. She had long since forgotten about seeing him in the US headquarters in a meeting, but he acted as if they were very close to each other...

Everly frowned, but she did not say anything.

Neil added, "Your coat."

Everly took the coat ungainly. A moment later, she said, "Thank you."

She didn't know if it was an illusion.

The moment she took the coat, she felt as if there was a sharp gaze sweeping across her arm. She felt her entire body tremble. But when she raised her head, nothing special was reflected by the elevator's inner surface.

She just felt cold, a freezing coldness.

She couldn't help but reach out and rub her arm.

She thought that it must be because of Maverick. This person was so cold, and she was also a little stilted.

When the elevator reached the floor of the conference room, Everly did not lift her foot. Neil had to prepare documents, so she had to return to her office after they all left.

Jayden took the lead and walked out of the elevator. He stretched out his hand and pressed the button, waiting for Maverick to come out.

Everly thought that he was finally leaving...

As soon as this thought flashed through her mind, a deep voice sounded in front of her, "Miss Everly, come with me."
