It was humid in the air.

The alley looked grim after night fell.

It was difficult for cars to pass through such a alley, so the driver turned around and said to the lady sitting at the back seat, "Miss Candy, I guess we can't go any further."

Carolina nodded, "OK, just wait here."

She opened the door and got off the car.

The sound of her high heels echoed in the alley. Not far from her, there was a man in black waiting there.

The man might had been there for a while. And it was hard to see his face clearly.

Carolina didn't want to come into contact with people like him, but he told her that the only way to get the document was to come and met him in person. Since she really needed this information, so she still decided to come.

As she walked closer to the man, she realized that he was wearing a hat and a mask. So, there was no way to recognize his face.

Carolina was getting impatient. She felt exposed while the man was completely hidden in the dark.

"I'm here. Where's the document?" She cut to the chase because she didn't want to stay for long. "Once I got what I wanted, you will get the money from your account."

The man started to talk, "Miss Carolina, I admire your frankness. And I am also a man of my words. Here is what you want." He smiled and passed a folder to her. Though she couldn't see his face, but he sounded gloating. "This is exclusive. You made an excellent choice when you came to us for this matter."

Carolina took a deep breath and said, "This will be the only time that I show up. I will not come again."

"Miss Carolina, what are you worried about? We are professionals and we follow the rules."

"If that's true, then stop calling my name."

"Miss Carolina, don't worry. Even if someone found out what you did, you won't take the blame. You've got a little sister, remember?" The man took a pause and resumed while stroking her chin, "And let me tell you more about it. You're not the only one checking on her. Your sister was also sniffing around this too, but she didn't get anything yet."

She wasn't surprised.

She let Karen know about Everly on purpose.

Because Carolina knew her well and she would definitely keep digging.

Everly found Maverick weird today. In fact, he was an entirely different man.

Maverick said he had been drinking and couldn't drive. And his driver couldn't pick him up, so he asked her to drive him home.

But she still didn't have her driver's license yet, so Maverick asked her to get a driver online.

Everly couldn't stop whining about it inwardly. Why would he call her over in the middle of the night when he could just get a driver himself?

When the driver arrived, Maverick still didn't let her go and asked her to get on the car with him.

She checked the time and felt anxious to go, because she still had to get up early the next day.

Everly was speechless.

What did they do?

They were supposed to assist their bosses when there was real work, not toil 24 hours a day for them.

It had nothing to do with the raise of salary.

"From now on, don't show me that face." He ordered.

Everly twitched her mouth.

"Are you in love?" He dropped this unexpected question at her.

Everly was shocked and paused for a while. She was about to say no, but instead she said, "Do I also need to report to you about my personal life?"

Maverick's face was slightly darkened and he kept silent.

He tightened his palms on his knees and then slowly loosened up.

But she wasn't in the mood to explain herself. The car finally had arrived at his Villa. Maverick got off the car and saw her had no intention to move. He knocked on the window, "Get off the car."

Everly was speechless again.

She rolled down the window and laid over the door. With a soft tone she said, "Boss, it's late. Can I ask the driver to take me home? I'll ask someone to drive your car back tomorrow."

Maverick's face remained unchanged, "No."

"You got to stay here tonight. We will be heading to the airport at 5." He left an order in a cold voice.

Everly didn't see that coming, "What!"

"Do you get it? I don't have time to repeat myself. Now, get off the car." Then he said to the driver, "You can go now."

The driver took the money and left.

Everly had no choice but to get off the car. She ran after Maverick and was trying to catch up with him.
