So when she was on her way to the airport, she took out her phone to search it.

The post at the top was really glaring.

The title read: What Sets a Female Secretary Apart from a Male Assistant? Check out This Bitch at Lamont Group!

She had a hunch that this post should be the one Beth had mentioned.

She clicked it.

After a seconds of network delay, a few photos popped up.

Everly swiped the screen, wide-eyed. She nearly let the phone slip from her hand.

'Isn't that me adjusting Maverick's tie?'

She could not believe that pictures of her and Maverick had been taken when he put her on the cabinet. Of course, mosaic was added on their faces, but that could never make things better.

It was her and Maverick.

She scrolled down. Most of the comments were attacks against her.

Moreover, these people were really resourceful. They dug up her background.

That explained why many people were anonymous, and she did not know who they were. Anyway, the comments were grossly snarky.

She couldn't bear to see more after reading dozens of the comments. Nobody can be immune to such vilification. She felt hurt.

'Are those guys idle nuts? Even though I seemed indecent in those pictures, they can't give such hurtful speeches.'

Everly had never encountered such kind of things when she was in the United States.

She had the urge several times to register another account and argue with them. However, on second thought, this might be what they wanted--to make her angry. They would be overjoyed to see her getting enraged.

The good news was that Jayden would be around on this business trip.

Then Jayden approached them and reminded them that they could pass the security check now.

Everly drank up the coffee in one gulp, and threw the cup away before following them to the security check.

They did not queue as they can use the VIP boarding service.

Everly did not know where they were going until she checked the ticket. The destination was Weirdale.

It was three hours away from City C.

After hearing Jayden report to Maverick about the situation in Weirdale, she realized that it was about a project Maverick developed after he got this position.

No wonder he took it so seriously.

However, Everly knew that as she was new to being Maverick's secretary and the business, so Jayden was in their company.

By 6 o'clock, they were on the plane.

Everly was arranged to sit next to Maverick, while Jayden was in the next row.

As Jayden had been at LAL Branch recently and the he was called to take this trip on a short notice, so he had to report his work now.

Sleepy, Everly tried to listen and felt a little guilty when Jayden seemed such a professional.

'I need to learn the ropes as soon as possible.'

Then airline stewardess came to remind the passengers to turn off their phones.

When Everly took out her phone and was about to turn it off, a call came in.

Perhaps because the bell rang abruptly, Maverick, who sat next to her, turned to her.

The name appeared on the screen was "Babe," and the profile photo was the man that Maverick saw when she was drunk last time.

Maverick's face became extremely grim.

"Sorry, Mr. Maverick." She clenched her fists tightly. She had never thought that she could get germs for job, but what was the grievance about at the moment?

Her eyes turned red.

"I will try my best to take everything over from Jayden." After thinking for seconds, she stood up and said, "How about Jayden and I changing our seats? So that you can talk. I can also go through all the materials at the same time."
