A Pigeon Pair: Sweetheart, Let's Get Married novel Chapter 47

In fact, Everly did that partly out of anger.

Despite that she also felt that she was in no position to be like this.

It was all about business. Besides, he was the boss, so she should to do what he told her to do as long as it was reasonable.

However, she failed to control her feelings.

She tried to gain the control w through reasoning, but in the end, the feelings grew stronger. The harder she tried, the stronger it got.

Before Maverick could say anything, she directly went to ask Jayden to change seats.

Jayden felt a little embarrassed.

Perhaps the two of them didn't notice that, but ... as a bystander, why did he feel that Mr. Maverick and Everly were mad at each other?

Although no one had ever dared to talk to Mr. Maverick like her, it seemed that Mr. Maverick also had never directly snatched another's phone to stop them from answering the phone, regardless of his image.

Then it dawned on Jayden.

He was somewhat disappointed when Mr. Maverick let Everly be his secretary at first.

After all, he had worked for him for so many years.

Well, it seemed that there was something between them.

But didn't this woman had a son?

Jayden's imagination began to run wild. A drama had already been produced in his mind. He remembered the little boy who had met Mr. Maverick many times in a day, and thought about Everly who was working beside Mr. Maverick ...

Wasn't this their game?

Jayden hesitated.

Actually, he himself did not like gossiping about other people's privacy.

He had seen Everly's résumé at LAL. When she was in the US, she did not mention that she was married. That was to say that she did not want to let people know the existence of her child.

Sometimes, men thought differently from women.

Women may be eager to gossip, but men weren't.

Jayden was an upright man, so he hesitated for a moment whether he should tell Mr. Maverick about it?

Or ... he should keep his mouth shut?

However, after he took the seat, Jayden could clearly feel that Mr. Maverick was in a dark mood.

And most importantly, the work was slowed down.

This was the first time Jayden felt that getting involved in a silent fight between a couple was the last thing he would do.

Maverick had been not in the mood. He knew very well what he had done was gratuitous.

He just lost control when he saw the call.

And he felt even more upset when that woman tried to master her rage and put up with it.

The flight would take over three hours.

Although Everly said that she wanted to sort out the materials, her head and body wanted to take a rest. And especially after the mood swing, sleep quickly rolled over her as she gradually calmed down. She didn't know when she fell asleep.

She even didn't wake up when the plane landed.

Thus, when Jayden and Maverick were about to leave, they discovered that the woman sitting behind them was holding a stack of documents and sleeping soundly.

Jayden wanted to wake Everly up, but Maverick stopped him.

After that, Jayden had saw a scene with an expression of disbelief -- Maverick took off his coat, put it on Everly, then bent down to pick up the sleeping woman and got off the plane.

Jayden followed him, feeling as if he was stepping on the clouds.

What was his boss doing?

Mr. Maverick ... he was actually willing to take the initiative to hold a woman?

He even covered his coat on a woman?

It was Maverick Lamont.

He had been working for Mr. Maverick for years. Mr. Maverick had barely taken the two Kahl girls or even the Italian girl serious. But now, there was this secretary...

Jayden once again started to ruminate whether he should tell Mr. Maverick about it or not.

However, he had to find a chance to bring it up.

In fact, Everly felt that Maverick intended to make things hard for her through going on a business trip without informing her in advance.

Actually, it was not.

There was a situation in Weirdale. Maverick needed to be there in the flesh.

Jayden had been around him every time he went on a business trip. And it was no exception this time.

Of course, Everly didn't know that at the moment.

She was still in sound sleep.

Jayden sat in the passenger seat and peeked at the rear seat through the rear-view mirror several times.

He had forgotten what shock meant.

He just found it unbelievable.

Mr. Maverick carried the woman off the plane, out of the airport, and got into the car.

Right now, she was still sleeping on Mr. Maverick's thigh.

Mr. Maverick was kind of a cleaner freak. A major feature was that he hated physical contact with people, except Candy.

It seemed that this secretary was no normal people to him.

"Have you contacted the suppliers?" Maverick suddenly asked.

Jayden hurriedly withdrew his gaze and felt awkward. So he said quickly, "I'll contact them immediately."

Maverick frowned. He was probably a little unhappy that Jayden hadn't make contact in advance, but then he remembered that this trip was not arranged in advance too.

He simply waved his hand and said, "Let's go to the hotel first. Since we've been here, these few hours would not cause any trouble. Make appointment for tonight and do as I told you before."

Jayden nodded. "Mr. Maverick, do we need to contact Mr. Byron?"

Maverick pondered for a moment. "Although Weirdale is not my territory, things are under control right now. There is no need to bother him."

The Puth family was not peaceful now. Byron was currently dealing with his elder brother. He didn't want to trouble him with such a small matter at this time.

Jayden got it.

They arrived at the hotel soon, but Everly did not wake up.

When the car stopped, Maverick said to Jayden, "You go and get the rooms ready."

For some reason, when Jayden got off the car, he felt that Mr. Maverick was planning to let Everly continue sleeping.

The more he thought about it, the more terrifying he felt. Was Mr. Maverick really that patient?

In fact, Maverick did have the plan.

He knew she probably hadn't rested well yesterday when he saw her at the airport this morning.

He wanted to give her time for some good rest when they were on the plane.

But a phone call destroyed that.

He didn't know what came over him at that moment. But when he saw her red eyes, he felt as if his heart had been held tight by her little hand.

That bitter feeling defied description.

It was bitterness mixed with pain and sorrow.

Maverick had never felt this way before. He had been distracted along the way as Jayden went on about the project.

Deep down in his heart, there was a voice constantly telling him that things might get off the track, and beyond his control.

But even though he knew it, he still could not control his actions and emotions.

...

...

At least for now, he seemed to have experienced the emotions he had never experienced in the past 30 years.

Everly.

As the driver left the car for them, Maverick looked directly at the women in his arms. The emotions in his eyes were thinly veiled.

It was possibly because of the intensity of his emotion,

The person who had been sleeping soundly suddenly groaned.

It was a very special, female groan.

It had nothing to do with sensual desire.

However, when Maverick heard this, he felt as if a fire had been ignited in him in an instant.

His blood raced in the vessels and his breathing became harder. He found it difficult to restrain himself.
