A Pigeon Pair: Sweetheart, Let's Get Married novel Chapter 116

Maverick put an alternate meaning behind his words.

"Don't talk nonsense!" Everly said shyly.

"I mean it."

"Maverick!"

...

Maverick narrowed his eyes. Although they were close to each other, he was staring down at her. Then, she looked up at him angrily. Her red lips looked very tender and tempting. Seeing this, he swallowed hard, which looked very sexy. Everly's eyes paused and she subconsciously wanted to break away from his arms. But when she did it, she found she was held tightly.

Her blush deepened and she said, "Maverick, you ... there are so many people here. Let go of me. What's your problem? You shouldn't be overwhelmed by the lust."

Maverick thought he was wronged.

He didn't think about that, but wanted to kiss her.

"Dad, Everly, hurry up! We are going to buy tickets!"

Candy interrupted them.

However, from where Everly stood, Candy saved her from Maverick.

Everly could tell what Maverick was thinking from his eyes.

However, with the children here, he had to control himself.

Everly had never gone out with a man and two children. She held Edmond's hand and thought that Candy would like to hold Maverick's hand. But to Everly's surprise, Candy glanced at them and then waved to Maverick. Maverick bent down, and Candy raised up on her toes, whispering in his ear. After that, she ran to Everly's left hand.

"Everly, can you hold my hand?"

Everly got a warm feeling in her heart and held Candy's little hand. Then, Maverick went to line up to buy tickets.

He also wore sportswear today. His cap and sunglasses covered most of his face, so he was not so eye-catching in the crowd. However, many people's eyes would fall on him for a few seconds.

Everly did not know if he had ever done this with his daughter in the past.

She held Candy and Edmond, waiting for the tickets at the gate.

At times, she looked towards Maverick and found that many young girls were standing around him.

A few of them even took out their phones to secretly take photos.

Everly didn't know what to say.

It was crazy.

She muttered something, but there was no denying that she was upset about this.

Somehow, she thought he should belong only to her. If other women stared at him, she would feel uncomfortable.

Everly was startled by this thought.

She remembered she wasn't so possessive when she was in love with Lucas.

Was she too young at that time?

Maybe she didn't love Lucas when she was dating him.

"Everly, do you think my dad is particularly handsome?" Candy suddenly hovered over and asked with a smile.

Everly was interrupted. She paused for a moment and then nodded with a red face.

"Do you love my dad?" Candy was as frank as Edmond.

However, she was only 5 years old. Did she know what love was?

Everly got a headache. "Candy, you are so young. You don't know what love is. You shouldn't mention this anymore."

"I know," Candy said proudly. "Everly, I like you while you love my father. I understand the difference, and so does Edmond."

She turned to Edmond and said, "Edmond, is that right?"

"Yes, you are right." Edmond agreed.

Words failed Everly.

She realized she couldn't win them, so she remained silent.

However, Candy continued, "Everly, my dad has never brought me to a place like this, and you are the first lady he likes so much."

Everly's heart beat faster.

Candy continued, "Miley tried hard to please my dad, but he didn't talk to her. I know he doesn't like her. But you are different. He is super nice to you."

Edmond immediately added, "My mommy is the same. Many men were going after her. But she likes nobody but Maverick."

Once again, Everly didn't know what to say.

"Really?" Maverick interrupted them in a low voice. He heard what Edmond said.

He was holding a few tickets to the amusement park. He stood in front of Everly, blocking the blazing sun.

"Then I'm honored," he said.

Everly looked up at him. He was standing against the sunshine, but his eyes looked clear. He was staring at her with affection in his eyes.

How attractive!

Everly trembled with excitement. She stood up, took the tickets from Maverick's hand, and said with a frown, "They are spouting nonsense. Let's go in first, or we will be late."

Maverick smiled and looked at her. He didn't look aggressive anymore.

He carried Candy, held Edmond's hand, and then entered the amusement park with Everly.

Not far away, someone was taking photos of them.

...

It was quite tiring to play in the amusement park with kids.

It was too exhausting.

In less than two hours, Everly was almost exhausted. The weather was not particularly hot, but her forehead got sweaty after she kept running around.

Seeing that she was very tired, Maverick bought a bottle of water for her. "Go over there and rest. I will take them to play. It is almost time to eat something."

Everly was thirsty and was nearly worn out, so she agreed.

After resting for more than ten minutes, Everly felt a little better. Now that she had nothing to do, she took out her phone.

After browsing through her WeChat Moments for a while, she suddenly thought of something. When she looked up, she saw that Maverick was holding the children and lining up for an attraction.

It was super enjoyable to see this.

It was incompatible with Maverick's identity, but...

This strange feeling moved her.

She slowly raised her phone and took a photo of Maverick and the children.

Hardly had Everly finish it when her phone rang. She saw that it was Beth.

She hurriedly picked it up.
