A Promising Youth novel Chapter 28

The next day, just as Clara and I arrived at the office, the lobby was full of people.

They were the factory workers. Some were excited, some were nervous, some were clutching in their hands with cash wrapped in newspaper.

“The family's savings have been all taken out. I must work hard in the future. Only when the company is good, we can earn more money!”

“Yes, I've borrowed from relatives and friends. From now on, I can't let the company lose money!”

“I even took out my mother's 5,000.”

Clara and I made our way through the crowds and when we got to the office, Clara tilted her head, took a deep breath and said.

“Matteo, I really don't know whether it's right or wrong to do this. In case the company loses money, how should we explain to these workers?

My heart was heavy and I felt heavier responsibility on my shoulder. More than 200 employees invested into the factory.

“Sis, if there is not a thousand pounds of burden on your body, who will take a life to bet on tomorrow?! Don't worry, this is not the worst time. On the contrary, we are united to develop, it is the best time of Blue Butterfly!”

I said forcing myself to be calm as I suppressed the excitement and trepidation inside me.

“Hey! Now that we've agreed to have them in, let's go all out.”

She took a deep breath, sat down and said.

“Matteo, except for that unreliable “land purchase”, I find you quite capable, so would you really like to in the future stay in my crappy company?”

I nodded sincerely, looked at her with pursed lips and said.

“Sis, no matter what the future holds, I'll be wherever you are.”

Her cheeks flushed slightly and she said with a wry smile.

“What? And you stick to me?”

I ducked my head shyly. I had a crush on her, but I didn't know what she was thinking.

“An executive vice president is now vacant in the company. You are young but flexible, so I want to recommend you to this position in the board of directors meeting in the afternoon. What do you think?”

“Sis, do you mean that the second shareholder is coming back this afternoon?”

I wanted to get rid of him.

“Why are you so happy about him coming back? Are you really sent by the second shareholder?”

She squinted her eyes and stifled a laugh.

I said, “Sis, the company financing has two biggest difficulties. One is your relatives and the other is the second shareholder. Now your relatives have been got rid of, so I want to get rid of him too!”

Clara shook her head, pulled her long hair up and said.

“It's hard. He tried to find someone to take the position of the executive vice president and then find an opportunity to exclude me from the company. So at the board meeting this afternoon, you're going to be ready to fight and try to take that position, okay? The only person I can count on is you!”

‘I nod heavily, sis, I'll never let you down!’

In the morning, Clara was busy with a meeting with the sales department, while I went straight down to the workshop and checked on the work.

Although the factory had no money, there was still a stock of raw materials, so we just had to dye these cloths into ‘General Grey’ and sell it, and the company will have flow cash.

By noon, Clara’s relatives came. I had handled with the 2 million plus the equity transfer agreement. Clara deliberately did not come, saying she did not want to see their faces.

After this matter was resolved, the company was considered completely cut off from those relatives. Only the second shareholder needed to be got rid of.

When Clara took me into the conference room at 3:00 pm, it was already filled with people.

“Yo, Miss Clara, it was really hard for you these days when I was not in the company!”

The one who spoke, aged in his 40s, dressed in a suit with a slicked back haircut. His eyes were calm but sly. He should be the second shareholder, Greyson Morris.

Clara was young and did not know how to deal with difficulty. While when the company was in crisis, the second shareholder looked for someone to go against her, so I disliked him.

“Sit down, there are two announcements to be made at today's board meeting.”

Clara's face was cold, and she didn't even look at Greyson.
