A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 45

Chapter 45

The drive from Nadeem City to Salem City takes about two hours. The sky was overcast, and the sound of rain was hypnotic.

Sage did not feel like conversing with Yoel anymore. Putting a blanket over her shoulders, she planned to take a nap. Before she closed her eyes, she warned Yoel, “Keep quiet.”

To Hunter, she said, “Throw him out of the car if he’s causing trouble.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be good,” Yoel replied, “I can lend you my shoulder if you like.”

“No thanks. I might have a nightmare.”

Yawning, Sage closed her eyes and said nothing more.

Yoel chuckled softly. Looking at the woman who was curled up like an adorable small pet, Yoel had the urge to pull her closer into his arms.

He reached for his phone and proceeded to take a photo of Sage.

Realizing what Yoel was up to, Hunter glared at him and wanted to snatch away his phone.

Yoel swiftly avoided Hunter. Winking, Yoel hushed Hunter. It was as if he was trying to warn off Hunter while he snuck some pictures of Sage. He planned to carry out his actions proudly.

Hunter tried to force Yoel to delete the picture, and Yoel made a show of doing so, but in reality, he had uploaded the photo.

Yoel, of course, had no intention of deleting the picture. He must keep the photo of Sage sleeping for as long as he could.

He planned on sharing the photo with Jace as he felt sorry that Jace did not have even a single photo of his wife who he had been married to for three years.

Sage slept soundly throughout the ride and by the time she woke up, they had already reached Salem City.

The skies were getting dark.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Yoel’s bright eyes. Frowning, she asked, “Why are you still here?”

“I was waiting for you to wake up so that we can talk business.”

At Sage’s rejection, Yoel had felt somewhat wronged and dismayed.

He could not understand why Sage was not attracted to him in the slightest bit. He used to be able to get any girl he wanted, and he did not even have to work for it.

Stretching, Sage asked in a slightly husky voice, “What business?”

“The horseracing business. I’m serious about working with you.”

Taking a sip of water from the glass given to her by Hunter, Sage cleared her throat and replied, “Sincerity is important when talking business, Yoel. You can forget about splitting the profits 50-50. I want 70-30. I’ll take 70 and you take 30.”

Yoel’s eyes narrowed as he got into the negotiations. “60-40. I’m sure you are aware of the Fultons’ reputation when it comes to horse racing. You don’t have to feel like you are at a disadvantage when you are working with me.”

Sage finished the rest of the water in her glass and said to Hunter, “Have the contract ready.”

Hunter replied, “Yes, ma’am.”

Yoel smiled. He liked how Sage was quick to come to a decision when it involved business.

Raising his brows, he added, “You’re not worried that I’d use work as an excuse to continue pursuing you?”

“Do whatever you like,” Sage replied lazily and added, “Whether you want to continue pursuing me is your business, and it’s my decision whether I want to accept your pursuit. I’d admit that you are capable if you do manage to make me fall for you.”

Yoel snapped his fingers excitedly and exclaimed, “I know exactly what I should do now after hearing your response.” Yoel was confident that, with his charisma, he would be able to make Sage fall for him.
