A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Sage had one rule that she had always stuck to when dealing with such matters: Avoid taking matters into your own hands.

With Yeva, she was willing to spend time “teaching” her, as Yeva was her cousin. However, she had never wasted her time on outsiders as they were usually not worth the time nor the energy.

This time, Sage was in a horrible mood, and the woman was rubbing salt into the wound. Hence, Sage had no intentions of turning a blind eye this time,

The venue was rowdy. Music blasted through speakers, and the chatter of guests filled the hall. At first, no one had noticed the commotion, but as the chatterboxes screamed and yelled at the top of their lungs. They acted as if they had never had something like this done to them.

Thanks to the ladies, Sage who had always kept a low profile found herself in the center of attention. Guests were slowly gathering around them.

The lady, who Sage had dumped wine on, was the only one who was not yelling. She was still in shock. Tasting wine in her mouth, she began to stutter, “Who… Who are you?”

All the guests who had been invited were well either well-known public figures, or they were actors and actresses. The lady who had been splashed with wine was an actress who had recently made it big. She had been in the entertainment industry for over ten years and had picked up the skill of reading people.

Although she was startled to her core, the lady noticed that Sage was dressed in an expensive dress, and the jade necklace around Sage’s neck only confirmed that Sage was not someone that she could mess with or even offend. 1

“You don’t even know me but dare to badmouth me? Should I praise you for being bold and fearless?”

Sage had gone easy on the lady. Even though she had deliberately broken the wine glass on top of the lady’s head, and it was indeed terrifying when the glass had shattered, Sage had made sure that the lady was not injured in any way.

Sage had always taken mercy on ladies.

The actress thought hard and finally came to a realization, “You… you’re Miss Sage Norah?”

As soon as she had said Sage’s name, the crowd gasped and began to study Sage carefully. It was at that moment that they realized that this was the legendary Sage Norah.

She was more stunning than the rumors made her out to be.

The ladies that sat at the same table with the actress consisted of several newly debuted actresses and several socialites. The ladies at the table had assumed that just by their association with Yeva they knew the Norah family well. Nevertheless, Sage Norah was a legendary figure.

Indeed, there was a time when the Norah Group was influential and commanded respect, but its reputation had been tarished in recent years. Hence, there was no reason to be intimidated by the inheritor of a company that was on the brink of bankruptcy.

A socialite who was friends with Yeva shouted in the actress’s defense, “Who are you to hit her? This is the dinner event hosted by Timeless Magazine! Aren’t you afraid of offending the Bennett family? Just so you know, I’m Luther’s friend, and I can have him throw you out of this event.”

The socialite tried her best to look imposing.

Her declaration gained the support of the other ladies.

“Exactly! How can you throw wine at someone’s face without even talking it out? How could the eldest daughter of the Norah family be someone with such a poor upbringing?”

At that moment, it looked like Sage was being attacked by a gang.

Jace and Yoel had witnessed the entire situation. They had even heard the ladies bad-mouthing about Sage. Hence, they had not stopped Sage from confronting the lady. However, it was time for them to interfere.

Just when Jace and Yoel were about to make their move, Sage grabbed two glasses of red wine and started throwing the wine at the ladies who could not seem to stop rambling.

Sage remained calm as she glanced at the ladies with disdain. After everything that had happened, she was still radiating elegance and arrogance. Looking unbothered, Sage did not seem to care about what she had just done.
