Sage retorted by countering Jace’s questions. She added, “Jace Yuriel, have you not had enough of humiliating me during the past three years?”

The light in Jace’s eyes dimmed.

While Jace was in a daze, Sage quickly removed her wrist from his grip. Perhaps Jace had gripped her too tightly, she felt a buming pain around her wrist.

Stretching her wrist, Sage looked especially cold and distant.

“Jace Yuriel, it doesn’t matter why I chose to marry you in the first place. In the past three years, I’ve done nothing wrong to you. It was you who did me wrong. It was you who took our marriage for granted, who neglected your wife, who cheated on me, and you were the one who asked for a divorce. So tell me, what have I done wrong? Am I to blame for letting you get your way?”

As if she was mocking herself, Sage scoffed, “Back then, you had loved Sienna, not me. But now that you know her true face, you decided to stop loving her. But this too has nothing to do with me, we’re separated. Don’t tell me that you suddenly realized how good I am or that you found out that you can’t live without me after the divorce, so now you want us to get back together?”

Jace felt his chest tighten. A flustered look flashed across his face.

The staff had their heads hung low, and they got back to their respective stations.

Sage then went downstairs with Hunter and the others. Yoel placed his hands on Jace’s shoulders and said, “You saw how she is, right? You should give up now, Jace. You should return to Nadeem City now. I’ll take good care of your ex-wife.”

Yoel then quickly followed Sage. “Sage, wait for me.”

They parted ways unhappily again. Pressing his lips tightly together, Jace watched as Sage left without even tuming back. His tightly clenched fists hung by his sides.

Jace wondered when it was that she had stopped smiling for him, and when had she begun acting cold and indifferent toward him.

In the end, Sage was still not willing to give him the answer he wanted.
