A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 129

Chapter 129

Sage smiled bitterly as she took another shot. The liquor was so strong that made her stick out her tongue.

“Jace and I had too many unresolved debts between us, I don’t even know where to start. What can I do when he doesn’t even love m e anymore,” said Sage.

Kane’s brows narrowed, and he raised his voice, “That’s because he’s delusional! My dearest sister, you are the best girl in the world and you deserve the best. Jace Yuriel doesn’t even deserve to carry your shoes for you!”

Sage was loved by all her brothers. No one can ever bully their precious little sister.

Sage smiled from her heart. Having five brothers in her life was the best thing that ever happened to her, she thought. They were the greatest blessing from her mother.

“I don’t want to hear about him anymore. Since we’re already separated, there are no more relations between us. My only goal is to get the Norah Group back on its feet. This company was the heart and soul of Dad and Mom, I will not let it fail on my watch, especially after what Braxton and Zane did to the company. I’ll deal with them soon,” said Sage.

“I won’t let you fight alone,” Kane said. “Braxton and Zane will soon pay for their debts now that I’m back.”

Kane asked further, “The hijackers tonight were ordered by Brody Liam? Who is he?

“He is an influencer living off his parents. He’s a nobody.” replied Sage.

Sage then briefly explained the situation between Brody and her, and she ended with a sigh. “It’s all my fault for leaving home for three years. Things wouldn’t have been this way”

She raised her glass and lightly knocked it on Kane’s, and her lips pursed, “I will remind them again who’s the boss of Salem City.”

Kane let out a laugh. His bossy sister was finally back. They drank and chatted some more.

Sage wiped off her mouth, and asked, “Enough about me, brother. Where have you been these yearst

“Hmm,” Kane pondered, while he stuffed on peanuts. He then briefed Sage on the places he had been at. Sage’s heart sank as she heard about all these places, those were places Mommy frequented.

“Did you gather any information then?” Her fingers clenched tightly on her drinking glass, looking eagerly.

Kane shook his head, looking confused, “They all denied it. But I don’t believe that at all, they all must have plotted Mom and Uncle Sawyer’s death together. I couldn’t get hold of the culprit, I’m not sure.”

Instantly, Kane had an evil smile on and said, “If no one’s confessing, I might as well start killing all of them. I’ll spare no man!”

Sage held his hand and said in a low voice, “Yes, we must seek avenge, but it’s your safety I care about. Mom’s last words were telling us not to worry about it.”

Kane looked at Sage’s face, as it was a close resemblance to Mom’s. A firm yet gentle voice in his head was saying, “Nothing is more important than your life. Live well and live long, promise me, okay?”

Tears welled up in Kane’s eyes upon thinking about Mom’s last words. He finally broke down

Rounds of drinks later, Sage felt tipsy and she looked a little drunk.

They say the truth comes out when you’re drunk and that drunk words are sober thoughts. Kane began to ask questions that were more intimate. Kane immediately opened up the group chat between the siblings. He asked Sage, “Little sis, tell me, did Jace ever cheat on you? You have been married for three years, and for the whole three years, he’d never touched you?”

“No,” Sage placed her hands on her chin, looking rather distressed She pursed her lips and continued, “I don’t get it either. Such a beautiful woman as a wife, and he doesn’t even bat an eye? Even a monk would’ve fallen for me. Did he find me not pretty enough for him? Not sexy? I don’t get it… Don’t get it.” Sage shook her head, looking confused.
