In the group chat of “The Sage’s Guardians”, all Sage’s brothers sent out emojis of bloodied knives.

Big brother initiated the conversation, (He’s blind!)

The other brothers all agreed and replied [Yes, he is!)

Kane felt his hatred towards Jace grow even more. This guy is a jackass!

You don’t have to marry my sister if you aren’t even interested in her. Treating Sage like she meant nothing to you, what a waste of her youth! Kane thought in his mind.

He couldn’t imagine what kind of life Sage had as Jace’s wife. She should’ve divorced him earlier. She’s so young and beautiful, there’s a bright future ahead of her even as a divorcee. Kane had all these thoughts running through his mind.

The group chat tumed into a heated discussion

Sage coughed as she choked, and looked at Kane speechlessly. “Where’s that coming from? Jace isn’t gay even if he’s not interested in me. He’s not like our fourth brother. I’m still able to tell if Jace plays for the other team, okay?”

The fourth brother got dragged into the conversation unwillingly.

Luther sent a few photos into the brother’s only group chat and wrote: (Guys! Look what I saw!

There were a few moments of silence in that group chat, and the brothers sent out a bunch of bloodied knives emoji in the chat room again

The third brother was the only quiet one in the chat room.

Kane took a glance at the photos. His facial muscles tensed up and he cursed in foul language.

Sage looked over at his phone and asked, “What’s going on?”

“Nothing.” Kane tried hiding, but Sage’s sharp eyesight caught it. Her eyes widened, and she yelled in dismay, “You guys have a separate group chat from me?”

Kane thought in his mind, this wasn’t even the main point!

Sage was quick to anger and snatched Kane’s phone. She said, “Are you guys gossiping about me?’,

She let out a burp and scrolled through the group chat mindlessly. The other brothers quickly left the group chat upon hearing her voice. The group chat was abandoned all of a sudden. Though they tried to delete the messages, Sage was just in time to look at the photos Luther sent in. It was a photo of a beautiful woman standing outside Room 77 holding a bottle of liquor.

Room 77 at the Skye Hotel, wasn’t it where Jace was staying?

Sage let out a cold laugh, and she turned to Kane. “Told you he’s interested in women, look, he’s meeting one in the middle of the night. He’s just not interested in me.”

Kane’s heart ached for her. “Sis…”

“I don’t even care anymore. It’s his freedom to do whatever he wants.” Sage threw the phone back to Kane and finished her last glass of whiskey. She got up and walked wobbly towards the door and said, “I’m exhausted. Good night.”

Kane got up and helped Sage back to her room and laid her down on her bed. He then took out his phone and dialed Luther’s phone number. “We need to teach Jace a lesson!” Kane said angrily.
