A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 158

Chapter 158

Braxton’s trip to Yusemite wasn’t fruitful. He only bought a few pieces of worthless pebbles. He almost spent all his savings too, and he fought with Zane all the way home about stuff that happened in the past.

Yeva fell into her father’s embrace and cried hysterically as she saw him. She complained about how Sage bullied and traumatized her while he wasn’t around.

Braxton on the other hand was not interested in their squabble. He comforted his daughter half-heartedly and said, “Your big sister did that for your good. I’ll have less to worry about if you are half as smart as her.”

Yeva was not pleased with how her father reacted. She felt a great deal of disappointment.

She was longing for her father to teach Sage a lesson, in the end, that’s all she got from him. Might as well be unhappy together, she thought as she told her father about his land turned into a turf club.

Immediately, Braxton was pissed at what happened to his precious land. He almost had a heart attack, and he questioned his secretary. This secretary of his, other than her coming from a prestigious college, was useless to him.

“Don’t get so mad at me, Mr. Norah. It’s just a piece of land. There’s not much difference between a golf club and a turf club anyway! As long as it makes money,” gruntled his secretary.

“You idiot! You lack grey matter. Don’t bother coming back tomorrow!” Braxton said shakily.

Braxton called Zane and they rushed to the office. It was too early, the entire office was vacant. Them being the president and vice president of the company had to call the entire board and voting members one by one for a meeting.

The board and voting members yawned at their passionate lecture and scolding as they did not have enough rest.

“Why the hell are you guys yawning for? Start talking!” Not a single person in the room responded to anything he said. Braxton got exhausted and he stopped for a sip of water.

Mr. Wando exclaimed, “Mr. Norah, to be frank with you, you are picking the wrong crowd to blame. This project was single handedly executed by your niece Miss Sage. We thought you guys had a mutual agreement on this.”

“Agreement? There wasn’t any!” Braxton hissed. “That damn girl didn’t even ask her uncle. I would never agree to it!”

Zane opened his mouth, “Ok brother, that’s enough. No matter what Sage did with the land, we could always overturn it. We are the decision-makers of this corporation, not her.”

“That’s what I’m trying to say!” exclaimed Braxton loudly.

He slammed the table and pointed at the Marketing Director and said, “You, the one in charge, stop the project immediately. I don’t even ride, what do I need a turf club for!” ..

“I’m afraid I can’t do so, President. We have signed the contract with all parties, and it has already commenced. We will suffer a huge loss if we stop immediately, and our corporation can’t afford to compensate all parties,” said the Marketing Director.

“Yes, plus the land in the northern suburb was more suitable for a turf club no matter the location or the humidity, not a golf club…” said another person.

“Shut your mouth!” Braxton rudely disrupted their conversation and said, “I don’t care at all, you guys have to be fully responsible for this! I want a golf club and nothing else! You guys can get out if you can’t do what I want!”

“Who else would be working in the company if everyone left?” A cold voice came from the door.

Sage strutted into the conference room with her head held high, and she glared at Braxton and Zane, “Will you two be responsible for that?”
