A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 203

Chapter 203

“You… “Yeva got up from the dining table, went upstairs, and complained to Braxton, “Dad, did you hear what Sage said to me?”

“There, there.” Comforting her daughter, Braxton looked at Sage with a face of scorn and said, “Sage, why are you being such a downer on a happy day like this?”

Braxton then asked Yeva, “Have you given out your wedding invitations to Sage and Leah?”

“Oh, here there are.” Yeva handed the invitations to Sage and Leah. The cover of the invitation was rather pretty but the handwriting inside the card was just horrible.

Shaking her head, Sage could not even bring herself to finish reading the writing. She thought to herself why Yeva did not decide to print out the words instead?

Just when Yeva was going on happily about her wedding arrangements, someone barged into the house.

“Miss Sage, Mister Zane is here!” Noticing that Zane looked furious, Zamora quickly raised her voice and announced Zane’s arrival to Sage.

Braxton greeted, “Zane, you’re here. I was just about to send you the invitation.”

“Do I look like I give a f*ck about a wedding invitation?”

Zane’s face was darkened as he barged furiously into the dining hall and pointed his fingers at Sage and Leah. “You brats! What have you done to my wife? Why is Gwyneth hurt? Were you the one who beat her up?” Leah was just about to stand up but Sage stopped her and said, “It was me.” “She’s your aunt!”

Glaring furiously, Zane seethed, “You dare to lay a finger on your aunt?”

Unfazed, Sage replied, “Why not? If she had the nerves to make a scene at Norah Entertainment and beat up one of my artists, she should have seen it coming. Why? Only she can beat up others and no one else is allowed to beat her?”

“You…” Raw anger shot through Zane and he was about to charge toward Sage when Braxton held him back.

Puzzled, Braxton asked, “Zane, what is going on? Did you say my sister-in-law is hurt?”

Zane’s face was twisted in anger. Pointing a finger at Sage, he seethed, “Our beloved niece removed me from my position, and feeling unfair, Gwyenth went to Norah Entertainment to try to talk to her but was instead beat up by her. Her face is even disfigured and I was shocked to my core. Even if Gwyneth did cross the line, she is still considered one of your elders. You must be out of your mind to even think of beating her up!”

Leah, who could not put up with how her father was criticizing Sage anymore, stood up and said, “Dad, stop it. It was me who hit Gwyneth.”

“You?”

Zane narrowed his eyes as he looked at her daughter whom he knew to be weak and well behaved.

Gwyneth actually told Zane that it was Sage who ordered Leah to hit her but Zane did not trust her. He simply thought that his wife wanted to drag Leah into this. Leah had always been the one being bullied, how would she possibly hit someone else? “It was me.” Leah admitted bluntly, “I hit her across the face over thirty times, and my hand is still swollen from all that hitting.” Leah lifted up her hand which was still slightly swollen even though she had tried to reduce the swelling with ice. “Was it really you?” Zane’s face hardened immediately as he bellowed, “Are you crazy? It is your mom that you were hitting!” Rage overtook Zane. He charged toward Leah with his hand raised and a frightened Yeva quickly moved aside. Sage got up onto her feet and stood in front of Leah. She then kicked a stool toward Zane, causing Zane to trip over the stool and almost fell onto the floor with his face flat.
