A Vengeful Girl novel Chapter 143

They were not even married. Where did this baby talk come from?

"You wish!"

"Well, well. Let's just go home!"

Charles Mu nodded. He kissed Linda gently on her cheek and let her go reluctantly. Then he took her hand and steered her out of the station.

Paul hopped into the driver's seat while Linda and Charles Mu got into the backseat. Linda had woken up early that morning. She was a little tired.

She leaned against Charles Mu and closed her eyes.

When the car stopped at a stoplight, Paul saw them in the rearview mirror cuddling together. The picture was so warm and lovely.

Paul took a deep sigh. Young Master and Lady Linda were surely made for each other.

Linda didn't actually fall asleep but she was only relaxing with her eyes closed. She could hear Paul's sigh clearly. She opened her eyes and asked curiously, "What's wrong, Paul?"

Paul simply shook his head, "Nothing. It's just that you two make a really lovely couple."

"Have you ever felt lonely?"

Paul stopped for a moment and then nodded. He was a few years older than Charles Mu, but he still hadn't had a girlfriend yet.

"Actually, if you feel lonely..."

Paul's heart started to pound fast. He thought his chest might explode. He felt overwhelmingly afraid that Linda would soon mention Bun.

But to his surprise, a gentle smile bloomed on Linda's face and she joked, "If you ever feel lonely, I suggest you become a pair of chopsticks in next life. Then you'll always have company."

"My Lady, please don't make jokes about me."

"I'm not. Seriously, how can you ever get a girlfriend without making any move?"

Charles Mu added, "Money doesn't grow on trees, neither do girls."

Linda stopped the topic. She believed Paul understood what she meant.

Linda could tell that Paul was in love with Bun, at least a little bit!

And it happened before Brian Ho showed up. Bun also had a crush on Paul, but Paul had never made a move on Bun all these years.

Maybe Paul was not that deep in love with Bun. Or maybe because Paul hadn't met many girls to know what true love was. That's why he thought what he felt towards Bun was supposed to be love.

But then why did Paul seem completely indifferent when someone else was trying to woo Bun? Even Linda felt more anxious about this.

Linda saw a shred of hesitation in Paul's eyes. But Paul dropped the topic and didn't answer. Linda shook her head disappointedly. Paul was such a timid nerd.

Paul stopped the car in front of the Mu's main house. Charles Mu took Linda's hand and went inside.

"Young Master!"

"My Lady!"

The servants all stopped their work to greet Linda and Charles Mu as they walked through the garden.

Violet Xing was sitting next to James Mu and talking to him when they came in. Hardly had the young couple stepped into the living room when Violet Xing cast a questioning look on them. She kept her eyes fixed on their twining fingers and frowned, "Such behavior in broad daylight..."

"In broad daylight? What's improper about it?" James Mu picked up his tea cup and blew on it.

Violet Xing shouted angrily, "James Mu!"

James Mu sipped his tea calmly and put his cup back on the table. He then patted Violet Xing gently on the hand, "Alright. They are both young and mad in love. I don't see any wrong in them holding hands. Don't be so harsh on Linda."

Violet Xing snorted and turned her eyes to Linda, "Linda, look at how thin you are. You could really use some nutrition. I'd say you two should stay here for a while, and I'll see to it that our cooks make something nutritive for you."

"Well..."

Could Charles Mu be right about it?

Were they summoned to discuss the schedule of having a baby?

Linda's face turned pink with embarrassment, "Well, mother, I don't think we have to rush on this. Charles and I haven't even got married, and this is such an important matter. I think we'd better take it slow."

"Huh?" Violet Xing paused for a second. The look on her face indicated that she obviously didn't understand what Linda meant.

However, James Mu got the point and stared at Linda with amusement, "What are you talking about? Linda, weren't you kidnapped? And you haven't recovered from that, right? You are not looking very well. That's why your mother wants to have you stayed here and nursed."

With a hint of tease in the corner of his lips, Charles Mu tightened his hand on Linda's, "Honey, what have you been thinking?"

Linda felt both shy and embarrassed. She then secretly held his hand tighter and dug her nails into his palm. Charles Mu's face slightly twitched.

Linda then let go of his hand proudly.

Damn! How dare he play with her!

"Since you've mentioned it, Linda, it's about time that you took care of yourself and delivered a child for our Mu clan."

Linda suddenly realized that she just shot herself on the foot. She was sure that Charles Mu must have done it on purpose.

"Well, I'm not ready..."

"Ready for what? You don't have to do anything. All you have to do is lying down. And don't worry, we don't have a preference on that matter. We shall adore both boys and girls equally."
