A Vengeful Girl novel Chapter 172

"Bun, be honest, do you love Brian? If you do, we'll help you. But if you don't, leave him alone and move on."

Bun looked sullen. She hesitated to respond to Linda. She was confused and wasn't sure about her true feelings.

Besides, lately with the Paul situation, she wasn't sure anymore. Paul's proclamation to her made her doubt her feelings for Brian. Did she love Brian, or was she just infatuated with the idea that any man would give her the attention? Bun thought.

Bun took a deep breathe and said, "I think we must break them apart. Sarah is not worth Brian. She is manipulative and doesn't care for him like I do. I'm not 100% sure if I do love Brian, but I want the chance to figure it out. Besides, I don't like Sarah Shen very much."

"Funny!" Linda couldn't help but laugh, "Okay Bun. If my guess is correct, then this invitation card must be from Sarah. No one else but her is capable of such childish behaviour."

Bun thought so as well. Bun sighed and shook her head. But to be honest, she felt really sad. When she heard that he was marrying someone else and when she received the invitation card, her heart broke a little.

Bun needed to figure out whether what she is feeling was true love or puppy love.

Villa of the Ho clan.

"Grandpa, what are you doing? Why are you forcing me to get married? How many times have I told you that I'm not marrying Sarah Shen."

His roar could be heard beyond the sitting room, which shocked their servants. His fury was rare to be seen. He had always been inoffensive and easy-going.

"It's already set between me and her grandfather. You two will be getting married next month. You must do it that way." His grandfather thumped on the table and shook his beard to make the final decision. Lord Ho never understood why Brian had become so defiant. No one had ever stood up to him the way Brian was doing. He would not allow it.

"No! Why Sarah Shen? Why not Bonny Lu?" Brian asked wondering when the torment would end.

"Because she was the daughter of a man who betrayed us and I will not have this family linked to such a lineage as hers. It will only bring us humiliation. I will never give you my blessing to marry her. If you insist, you'll suffer the consequences that come your way." Lord Ho was sick and tired of hearing that girls name. He couldn't understand why Brian was willing to bring shame to his family for her.

"Are you threatening me, Grandpa? If you dare to hurt her, you will too... " Brian was fuming. He was out of control. His lips trembled with anger, as he remained speechless. He was trying to say something treacherous, but failed.

Because that would make his grandpa angrier.

Hearing what he said, his grandpa hummed, "What will you do Brian? Don't make empty threats. They Mu clan took her in just to show mercy. I know Charles Mu's grandfather was a friend of Bonny Lu's father. That was why he saved her from getting executed or going to jail."

"It was an accident. She was just a young child. Why must Bun take all the responsibility for it?" Brian added, hoping that his grandfather would heed reason.

"It doesn't matter. She is weak. That's why our enemies were able to hypnotise her and get all the information. If it wasn't for her weakness, she wouldn't have been easily hypnotised."

Brian was unable to respond. He couldn't believe his grandfather's reasoning. It didn't make sense.

"Grandfather, that's not fair at all. So many years have passed, and we know now that someone can be easily hypnotised, it doesn't have to do with whether they are strong or weak. Please listen..." Brian pleaded, but was met with a reaction that left him defeated. "Listen Brian! I don't care. She's too blame. I don't want you mentioning her name in this house again. I will not talk about this again. You are marrying Sarah Shen and that is it. Now leave here!" Lord Ho interjected, waving his hands in the air as if swatting away Brian's presence.

Brian had failed to convince his grandfather. He clenched his fists and turned to leave.

"Master. Young Master. Here comes Miss Shen." A servant approached them.

Sarah is here? That evil witch. Brian thought to himself. A smile lit up Brian's face which betrayed his inner emotions. For some reason, the angrier he got, the calmer he looked.

A whiff of her perfume greeted him even before she was within eye-sight. Brian couldn't help but frown and twist his nose. The perfume was pungent and infuriated Brian even more.

How can a girl like Sarah ever compare to his Bun?

Her artificial, squeaky voice could be heard before she appeared, "Grandpa, how are you?I have come to see visit you. Thank you for having me." She bowed out of respect.

"I'm well, but I don't think you are here for me, my child. I think you come to see Brian!" Lord Ho teased. Lord Ho couldn't understand what wasn't to like about Sarah. She was beautiful, intelligent, respectful and a member of a great family. What a silly boy! How could he not cherish such a good wife as Sarah?

Brian sneered at their interaction. He wanted no part of this.

"Oh, no! Grandpa. I came to see you. i do enjoy our time together." She noticed Brian's expression but didn't care much of it. She had him where she wanted. And besides, he would surely grow to love her.

"Sarah, since you're here, how about you and Brian have some lunch together?" He smoothed his moustache and smiled at her.

"Are you sure? Okay. No problem." She turned and walked towards Brian without waiting for a confirmation from Lord Ho. She was actually there to see Brian. Brian averted his eyes when he saw Sarah smile. Her entire presence always made him want to puke. He couldn't stand her.

He felt so sick. Why were they forcing him to marry her?

What did she bring to the table?

Brian didn't understand!

She wasn't even 10% as beautiful or tender-hearted as his Bun!

"No. Go have lunch by yourself. I'm not hungry." Brian said and walked away.

Sarah was so angry that she stamped her feet where she was. She called out, "Brian."

But Brian still continued to walk away without even looking back.

"Hey, boy, where are you going? Come back!" His grandfather thumped on the table and roared.

"I'm going back to my room to sleep. No-one should disturb me." Brian responded, completely ignoring Lord Ho's display.

"Brother Brian, don't go to bed. It's a fine day today. Let's go have fun. We're getting married. It's time we strengthen our relationship." Sarah quipped.

Brian Ho felt sick. No matter how many lunches or dates, their would never have a relationship. Brian thought to himself. Why would he? Sarah wasn't his cup of tea.

He regretted initially dating her. What was he thinking? And he didn't believe in his grandfather's principle. Why would he have a relationship with Sarah just for novelty? He had never experienced a relationship with a police commissioner. Now he did. But it was too much trouble. He had been in trouble for the past two years and it didn't seem to end. What else did she want?

"Strengthen our relationship? Are you delusional? No. I said I was not marrying you. Don't push me!" Brian said, turning towards his room.

Sarah looked paler. She felt embarrassed and humiliated. She had no choice, but to cry quietly.
