A Vengeful Girl novel Chapter 173

Lord Ho immediately berated him, "Brian, come back! How could you treat your fiancé like that? She came here for you, but look at your attitude!"

Frowning, Brian replied indifferently, "First of all, she's not my fiancé. Second, so what if she comes for me? Finally, what's wrong with me? Why can't I just quietly ignore someone I dislike?"

"Brian, bear in mind what I've told you. If you don't want that girl to suffer, stay home and do as you're told. Sarah is the perfect girl for you. Just forget that Bun."

"I've told you millions of times. Even if I don't get to marry Bonny Lu, I will never marry Sarah Shen!"

Brian pointed at Sarah with with slightly trembling fingers. His extreme anger was apparent. He didn't say much, but his eyes were cold as ice.

It was the first time for Sarah to see such a cold expression on Brian's face. He used to take everything in stride, even if he was angry or upset. Women were attracted to his calm and gentle eyes. But right now, he looked like a different person. He looked cold, disgusted, and even depressed.

"Brother Brian..." Sarah was cut short with Brian's interruption.

"Get out."

Brian stormed to his bedroom without even glancing back, and slammed the door. Lord Ho and Sarah were left alone in embarrassment.

Sarah believed that Bonny Lu had seduced Brian. She couldn't imagine that it was Brian Ho who had pursued her.

"It's fine. Your wedding has already been set. Let's see what he dares to do! What has been done cannot be undone. You shall get on well with each other eventually."

Lord Ho gently comforted Sarah. The thought of how Brian has been humiliating him made him angrier.

As Sarah lightly patted his back, she asked, "Grandpa, may I have a request?"

"About what?"

"I want the key to his bedroom. We're getting married, and I'll become the Lady here. Without the key, I..."

Sarah apparently just wanted the key to Brian's bedroom, which was a reasonable request. Besides, she was getting married to Brian. She should have the key to his bedroom. Lord Ho asked the maid to give her the spare key.

With the keys in her hand, a faint smile lit up her face.

She believed she would have Brian sooner or later. The wedding was the only thing she needed.

Sarah had been worried that Brian would run away from the wedding, but she had a plan. If he dared flee, she would have Bonny Lu killed.

For her, it was easy to have someone killed.

Bun could fend for herself, but she would be alone. She was able to bring down five men on her own before, but could she handle ten?

Sarah would only hurt Bonny Lu as the last resort. Brian liked her too much at the moment.

Sarah didn't want to get on Brian's bad side.

It had been too long since Linda last saw her father. Johnson Xia must be missing her a lot.

After telling Charles of her plans, Linda went to the Xia Clan with Bun after class.

She didn't tell her father that she was visiting, so the servants of the Xia Clan were shocked when they arrived. They rushed to report back to their master.

"Master, your eldest daughter is here."

"My eldest daughter?"

Johnson Xia was having tea in the sitting room, and was about to have lunch. It was depressing recently. May was gone, and so was Lisa. He was on his own at home now.

To be honest, Johnson Xia was getting lonely.

Linda mostly stayed with the Mu Clan because she was engaged to Charles Mu.

Johnson was so happy upon hearing that Linda had come back, that he wanted to greet her at the door.

"Linda, " Johnson called gently.

Seeing her father at the door, Linda smiled sweetly, "Dad, are you feeling any better lately? It's been so long since we last met.

"Yes, I'm getting better. The doctor comes to check on me every two weeks. I feel quite fresh and energetic now."

Linda nodded, "Oh, that's great! Your health matters the most. Don't work too hard."

"I suppose you'll have supper here. Are you leaving tonight?" As Johnson spoke with Linda, he ordered the servant to cook supper and prepare more dishes for Linda.

"No, I'll be staying here tonight."

Linda hadn't seen her father for a while, so she wanted to spend time with him. She didn't want him to feel too lonely now that he was on his own. May and Lisa were gone. It was cruel for a man in his fifties to be by himself.

When they were having supper, a servant brought Johnson some documents. He signed the papers after perusing them, sighing heavily.

"What's wrong, Dad? What are these?"

"Contracts of transferring my stock shares."

"Stocks of what? The Xia Group? But why? Didn't we get back all our property from May Shen?" Linda was completely baffled.

"Yes, we did. But she had transferred a lot in secret, and they were not under her name..."

Linda's heart plummeted. She wondered where May had transferred those properties.

Johnson added, "Our companies are on the verge of collapsing. I had been in poor health, so Vincent Zhou and May Shen were taking care of them for me. But who have thought that they would viciously betray us?

"Dad... Take it easy and don't sign them now."

"No. Today is the deadline. If I don't sign them now, even this mansion will be seized by the bank as mortgage."

In recent years, the Xia Clan companies had great profits and losses. May Shen had deliberately put them in arrears. A lot of their properties had been transferred through money laundering.
