"Mrs. Christine, Mr. Darren asked us to pick you up!" Just as Christine was overwhelmed by fear, the kindly voice of the butler, Uncle David, came into Christine's ears.

Hearing Uncle David's voice, Christine knew that her Savior had come. Her face, which had been wet, lit up immediately and jumped to Uncle David as fast as she could.

"Mrs. Christine, we're late. We've made you suffer." Looking at the distressed look on Christine's face, Uncle David couldn't help complaining about Mr. Darren.

How could Mr. Darren leave such a lovely girl here and suffer?

"Come on! I know it. It's getting late. You should go to bed now! Good night, Uncle David!" Christine nudged Uncle David affectionately, as if she was getting along with her father. This made him feel both sorry and softhearted.

Mrs. Christine had such a good temper. As servants, they were so lucky!

"Good night, Mrs. Christine!" Uncle David waved at her helplessly. His soft heart was overflowing with a father's love again.

After watching Uncle David leave, Christine went back to her room.

Christine wasn't a fool, although Uncle David had told her that it was Darren who had sent someone to pick her up. But if Darren really cared about her, he should have taken someone to find her back. How could he just send Uncle David there?

Maybe Uncle David didn't want anything unpleasant to happen between them.

Since it was out of Uncle David's kindness, Christine had to accept it. So, Christine went back to her bedroom happily.

She ran around like a happy bird. It was hard to imagine how helpless she was just now!

When she opened the door, it was dark inside. There seemed to be a faint fragrance of body wash in the air. Maybe Darren had taken a shower before going to bed?

Christine closed the door gently and bumped into a person as soon as she turned around.

"Ouch!" Christine took a deep breath. Her head was dizzy because of the impact, and her nose was so sore that tears were about to come down.
