"Right, let's have her! We can all share!" another gangster said.

The group of gangsters slowly approached Janet, while they were saying those dirty words.

Janet was furious, and she kicked away the man nearest to her, then another kick to another man...

When she was about to kick the third man, Tiger came up and grabbed her. Janet struggled with her wrists and yelled, "Let me off! You son of a bitch! Get your dirty hands off me!"

"You dare say my hands are dirty? You bitch!" Tiger was irked, so he slapped Janet heavily on her face.

The other men then came over and surrounded Janet. They cornered her on the ground, punching and kicking her.

"Please stop! I will give all my money to you, please! I am pregnant..." Bearing all the hits on her body, Janet tried hard to protect her belly with her arms.

Her belly was already aching. Fortunately, those men still had a little sympathy in their hearts. When they heard that she was pregnant, they stopped punching and kicking.

The man was wearing a vicious and angry face, which infuriated Janet that she had to gnaw on her lower lip with her teeth to keep silent for her baby's safety.

Those gangsters not only took all her money away, but they also took her phone.

A gust of wind blew over the narrow alleyway where Janet was left alone. The darkness of the night was horrible, and she was now huddling herself up in the corner, and she... felt regretful now.

Janet touched her own face and felt that there might be some dirty things on it, so she didn't refuse and said, "Okay, thank you very much!"

The old woman then led Janet to her house. It was a small and simple courtyard house, but quite a lot of people were living together in it.

Janet washed her face and put on a set of clean clothes. Then, she came out and said goodbye to the old woman.

"Young girl, my daughter-in-law cooked some food for breakfast. Have some food before you leave!" said the old woman. She dragged Janet by her hand and took her to the room next door. There was already a group of family members sitting there.

They all focused their attention on Janet, and one of them asked, "Who's that young girl?"

"This girl slept on the streets last night. I asked her to come to wash and change her clothes, " said the old woman. She then made her sit on one of the chairs. Janet felt embarrassed, so she smiled at them.

She didn't try to refuse the old woman's goodwill and kindness because she needed the help, and she was really hungry.

Then, everybody kept silent, and Janet had a full breakfast. When she was about to leave, she held the old woman's hands and said, "Grandma, I am sorry that I don't have any money on me now. I have nothing to give to you, but I'll remember your help. One day, when I'm all right again, I'll definitely come back to visit you."

When the old woman heard that she had no money on her, she immediately fumbled in her own pocket and took out a cloth bag. There was about a hundred bucks in it. She handed it to Janet and said, "I have some money here. Take it."

When Janet was about to refuse it, the old woman's daughter-in-law came up to them. She stared at Janet and said to the old woman, "Mother, what are you doing? There are so many liars these days. You've already treated her to a meal. Why are you still giving money to her?"

Janet didn't care about her words and smiled. She handed back the money to the old woman and said, "Grandma, thank you for your kindness. I don't need it. I'm going to look for a job now."

The old woman stared back at her daughter-in-law and said, "Look, she's such a beautiful girl. How could she possibly be a liar?"

Janet was deeply moved by this old woman, but in the end, she still refused to accept her money. When she left her house, she looked at her house number plate and memorized it.

After she came out of the old woman's house, Janet went to the police station. The policeman asked her to make a simple testimony about the event, then asked her to leave.

She could only make desserts, so she paid attention to each cake shop along the road.

However, most of the cake shops didn't need to employ any more workers. The few cake shops that needed workers provided a very low salary. One of them only gave 2000 per month, which was about a half of the salary she used to give her workers.

Sitting on the bench in a park, for the first time in her life, Janet felt the bitterness and hardship of life.

Then, two girls walked behind her, browsing the news on their phones. "Look, Daniel Si, that CEO who owns an international group! He just reposted Jerry Shao's Weibo post, which wrote that they are looking for a woman called Janet Shao!"

"Yes, I see. I heard that they will offer a reward of huge amount of money. Whoever can send Janet Shao back home will be offered 100 million as a reward!" one of them said.

Janet finally got her job, and she was so happy that she found a small inn and slept there for one night, that was worth about one hundred bucks.
