After Being Cheating novel Chapter 235

Walking in the sun, everyone stopped for a moment, and the women put on their shoes and socks back on their feet.

Only Janet had fallen asleep.

Thanks to Daniel, she hadn't slept not even for a full hour last night. After she had hiked on the mountain for a while, she couldn't help but fall asleep on Daniel's back while he was carrying her.

Daniel called Janet, but she didn't reply. He called her again.

Jerry heard him, and after he looked at his sister, he whispered to Daniel, "She's asleep!"

… Daniel was speechless, but went on climbing with her on his back. After the rest of their group had put their shoes and socks back on, he was the only one that was still carrying someone.

Janet woke up when they were halfway up a hill, and she thought that she had missed a lot of the beautiful scenery that was unfolding in front of her eyes. If it hadn't been for some children around them screaming and playing, she would have probably still been asleep for most of the trip.

When the woman on his back moved, Daniel knew that she was awake, and discontentedly looked at the screaming children.

But, in the end, he still didn't say anything, and kept his mouth shut.

Janet whispered in his ear, "Daniel, I'm awake. You can put me down now."

The clothes on her body had almost dried, which indicated that she had slept for quite a while.

Daniel found a nearby bench and put her on it.

She put on her shoes and socks, and said, "Thank you!" She then trotted to keep up with others in front.

Daniel felt unsatisfied with her thanks.

But he still didn't say anything, and just kept it in mind for later.

After a while, Janet's cell phone rang. She took it out of her coat, and when she looked at the caller, she saw that it was Caspar.

She walked a little slower, and while falling behind, she answered the phone. "Caspar."

Daniel, who was in front of her, frowned and also slowed down on his pace too.

"Janet, when are you coming back? Grandpa misses you and the twins, " said Caspar. As soon as Caspar had come out of Dillon's villa, he had called Janet.

Janet hesitated for a while, and said, "I still need some time first. I'm busy with renting shops these days, but I'll come back when I'm done with all of it." In actuality, she didn't want to go back...

Caspar was a little annoyed that she didn't give him a date. "Can I help?" he asked.

"No, I've rented a shop before, I'm experienced!" Janet gasped a little. She forgot about the marks on her neck, and unbuttoned the first couple of buttons of her shirt because of the intense summer heat.

"Where are you now?" Listening to her gasping, Caspar was a little confused.

Janet didn't lie to him, and answered, " We are climbing a mountain for fun."

"Well, then I won't keep you any longer. Enjoy yourself, and come back early!" Caspar had been talking about her coming back, as if Z Country were her home…

Janet forced a smile on her lips, and said. "Okay, Caspar, thank you!"

"You're welcome. By the way, Janet, when you're back, please tell me beforehand of it and I'll send someone to pick you up!"

Janet was just about to say yes, when she heard a cold voice, saying, "You are out of line. Hang up the phone, now!"

Janet looked ahead, and found that she had really distanced herself from all the others.

When Caspar heard Daniel's voice, he too came to a halt. He knew that there was only one person in the world whose voice could be that cold. Thinking that Janet was also with him, he became even more annoyed.

"Caspar, I have to hang up now. I fell behind from my group!" Janet was about to hang up and trotted to catch up with the others.

Caspar smiled bitterly, and said, "Okay, Janet, have fun!"

"Well, see you Caspar!" Janet hung up the phone and put it back in her coat's pocket.

When she walked past Daniel, she didn't say anything.

Instead, Daniel said to her first, "If you are so eager to go back to Z Country, why bother to come back in the first place?"

She stopped, and while she squinted at him, she asked, "You don't want to see me at all, do you? And you don't want me to even be in C Country, do you?"

'Does he hate me because I came back and ruined his wedding? Is this why he's humiliating and torturing me?'

Thinking of this, Janet's heart hurt, and her eyes turned red and filled with bitter tears.

"Don't impose your ideas on me!" The man's voice was ice cold and, almost in an instant, they started arguing with each other.

The sweet and warm feeling that was between them when he carried her had completely disappeared now!

"Did I say something wrong? You just hate me for ruining your wedding. If that's the case, then have another one! I promise that I'm not going to ruin that one!"

If he did so, then she would no longer have any sort of illusions on him getting back together with her.

Daniel looked terrible, and furiously said, "I don't have time for that!"

How would he hate her for ruining his wedding? In actuality, he was happy that she did it. How could she have misunderstood him?

"Would you give that traitor a grand wedding if you had the time for it?" she asked. Her tone was bad, and filled with sarcasm.

The man stared at her, and said, "Watch your words!"

Janet, of course, knew what he was talking about. She glared at him, and said, "She's a traitor! So what if I call her that way?"

They were nearing the mountain peak, but they stopped and quarrelled fiercely with each other instead of reaching it with the rest of the group.

The first one who noticed that they had fallen behind was Jerry. He took a look behind him but he didn't see them, and he asked the rest of the group to wait for them.

Daniel gave Janet a cold look and moved on. He didn't want to be bothered with her anymore.

Janet felt very wronged. She turned back, and instead of advancing towards the peak of the mountain, she went back down with tears falling on her cheeks.

Daniel thought that she was going to follow behind him, but, when he was near the group, he found that Janet was missing.

His heart sank. How could she be so wilful? They were now up high in the mountains, which meant that she might be in danger if she was left alone and astray from their group.

Jerry came over to him, and while looking back curiously, he asked, "Daniel, where's Janet?"

Rubbing his eyebrows, Daniel felt speechless. Janet was really too stubborn to even talk with!

"You go up first, I'm going back to look for her." Uttering these words, he immediately headed back.

After some ten more minutes of trotting, he saw that Janet was walking down the mountain in a huff.

Daniel ran over to her, grabbed her by the wrist, and pulled her up the hill.

"Let me go! I don't want to go up with you!" said Janet.

Daniel pinned her to a tree behind her, and asked, "Are you trying to make everyone unhappy?"

"Everybody's going to have fun without me, " she said.

"Janet, why are you so childish? Don't you know that they're all worried about you?" He was lecturing her with his harsh and cold voice.

Janet felt wronged and curled her lips. He was the person who had upset her in the first place; why was she the one to blame?

She then burst into an uncontrollable sob.

When Daniel saw tears flowing down her flushed cheeks, some pain flowed into his heart, but despite that he still ordered her, "Stop crying!"

But Janet ignored him, and instead cried even louder than before!

"Janet, didn't you hear what I said? Are you also deaf?" He furiously hit the tree behind her with his fist, but the sharp pain in his hand didn't even make him frown.

Janet could tell that the tree had shaken.

"Why do you treat me like this? Is it because that you don't love me?" she asked. She snorted and kept crying.

Daniel was about to lose his patience, and he warned Janet again, "Stop crying already!"

"Why can't I cry? If you don't want to see me, just fuck off and leave me alone!" Janet then pushed him away and continued to go down the hill like before.

A middle-aged man in a cleaning uniform saw exactly what had happened between them, and he laughed, and told Daniel, "Try coaxing her when she cries. Don't be that harsh, it never works that way."
