Hobson took big steps and followed her. "Damned bitch! How dare you sucker punch me!"

Before she opened the door, Janet slightly pressed her finger on her ear stud, making something fly out of straight into Hobson's cheek.

She had expected to hit his body.

Hobson painfully screamed and immediately covered his face. Then, within the blink of an eye, he fell heavily onto the ground.

Since the Dongcui Mountain event, Daniel had made Sven come up with an ear stud gadget that had a poisoned needle in it.

It had been designed to protect her from Hobson, and now it had served its purpose.

Nobody outside knew what happened inside the villa. After she saw him on the ground, Janet then managed to crawl out through a window.

The mansion was located too far away from the city, and not to mention that there were many bodyguards nearby. She took out a special bracelet from her purse and put it on.

Although the bracelet had been carefully designed, it couldn't get her out of any situation, but for her emergency it was enough.

Before long, she was quickly discovered by the patrolling guards.

"I'm the guest that your boss invited over. What are you going to do to me?" She scolded the guards who were coming closer and closer to her.

The two guards looked at each other and then they tried to look in the living room through the window behind her.

Janet moved her wrist and the two guards instantly fell onto the ground.

Hearing the commotion, the other guards started to head towards her. Suddenly, a few cars parked near the villa and caught their attention instead.

Janet felt relieved to see them going the other way. Behind the house, past the fence, there was a huge jungle.

The fence prevented people from entering the property.

She's wasn't stupid to run into a dead end, and circled back to where she had originally started.

She heard gunshots, and the loud noise panicked her.

Was it Daniel?

She carefully sneaked along the wall, but there was no sign of Daniel anywhere.

At that moment, out of nowhere, she noticed that somebody was getting close to her from behind. A hand pressed over her mouth before she could let out a scream, but the familiar scent overwhelmed her, and she wrapped her arms around Daniel.

While she wrapped her hands tightly around his waist, she asked, "How did you get in?"

Seeing that she was unharmed, Daniel caressed her head with a light smile, and said, "I just walked in!"

Janet had been so careless that she had not even noticed him following her at all.

When they returned, Hobson had already been captured by the guards. Daniel had ordered beforehand to storm the villa while Hobson was still lying on the ground.

Someone was standing in the jungle and watching them. To the stalker's surprise, the girl had not killed Caspar, nor his father, and now she had even found Daniel as her new backer. 'Damn it!' he swore.

Aiming his weapon towards the villa, he pulled it's trigger...

Daniel suddenly threw Janet down to the ground. The bullets passed above Janet and instead hit the stairs.

The guards outside traced the bullets to a dark shadow in the bushes.

But the shadow had already fled when they arrived.

Caspar was getting out of the car and walking towards Daniel, whose face was dead pale. "It was Hobson's grandpa, " he said.

Alex Gong was famous for his elusiveness, and many had wanted to catch him but couldn't. One moment he was there, and the other he disappeared into thin air, just like a ghost.

Daniel told the guards to throw Hobson straight into jail and then left the villa.

On the way back, while passing Wangfeng Cliff, Janet felt that there was something oddly familiar.

Even the smell of the place felt familiar.

"What are you looking at?" Daniel followed the look in her eyes, and he saw only several barren mountains, without even the slightest strip of grass growing on them.

Janet was silent, and with her head down, got lost in thought. 'Is this place real?' she wondered.

Where she was looking at was where the Black Moon's main headquarter was located, but judging from Hobson's reaction, it didn't seem so.

Who was the man that...

Her face went pale all of a sudden, but when she looked out the window again, they had already driven past the cliff.

"Jane..." Daniel hold the trembling Janet, and wondered, 'What on Earth is she thinking about?'

She looked back to him, and said "Daniel, I... I think it's there..." Her words were not making any sense, but for Daniel it didn't take a minute before he figured out what she wanted to say.

"Don't be afraid; I will ask my men to check it out." His gentle voice was spinning all over in her head now, and Janet snuggled up to his arms and peacefully nodded.

After their return from Wangfeng Cliff, Daniel took Janet straight to the doctor.

Caspar also returned to his sickbed. After Daniel sent Janet away, he domineeringly sat on the chair beside Caspar's bed, and said, "Starting from now on, Janet has nothing more to do with the Tianye Men!"

Caspar was silent.

"She neither belongs here in this country, nor in this bloody violent life. I'll talk to her and give you back the token of Tianye Men. And as for you, you stay away from her!"

Caspar understood every word he said.

He had already known that Janet's place didn't belong there, yet despite all of that he had still kept her there...

"Let's see what she has to say about this." It took a while for Caspar until he finally started talking.

"You had clearly known what she had thought about all of this from the very beginning, but you were still selfish, and still are. Caspar, I promise that I will make it up to you for your kindness to Janet and my child."

A bitterness crossed over Caspar's heart. He said, "I don't want your money, and I will still not give up on Janet."

He thought that if she didn't like the Tianye Men after all, he would take her away from Z country and let her live the life that she always wanted.

"Janet is mine!" said Daniel with a slight anger in his tone.

It wasn't nice to see his lady being stared at by another man all of the time.

Caspar feared nothing and looked straight into his eyes, and said, "But you aren't good to her."

Daniel felt hurt, but still maintained his poker face. "That's none of your business, and I will make it up to her in my own way."

Silence had fallen inside Caspar's ward, but then Janet walked in holding a prescription in her hand. She looked confused at the two silent men.

"What's been going on between you two?"

"We're good!" They both said this in the same time.

Janet twitched her lips for a moment and then left. She looked at the prescription, and said to Caspar, "You'll be able to get out of here only after the wounds start to scab, so please take good care of yourself."

Caspar caressed her face, and said, "Okay. Thank you Janet for caring after me these last days."

And at the same time, his hands were under a sharp, knife-like gaze.

Hum... Janet felt that there was something wrong, and she noticed Daniel's bad complexion while Caspar was talking to her.

What were they talking about, exactly?

"Janet, give your token of Tianye Men back to Caspar." Daniel grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms, and now there was quite a distance between her and Caspar.

Janet awkwardly glanced at Caspar, and asked, "Is it okay?"

This was what she had wanted however she was not sure whether Caspar was of the same opinion.

"Janet, you don't have to ask him about it, just do what you want." Daniel was really upset because of her attitude. Why on Earth did she have to ask him for?
