After Being Cheating novel Chapter 302

"This is all my fault. Just leave it to me, Jane. I promise, if I ever put you in danger again, I will..." Janet flung her hands hastily over his mouth before he finished talking.

She sobbed and shook her head, her watery eyes glittering in the dark.

"No. It's not like that. It's not your fault. I know you and my father were both looking for me. I knew, but... I just didn't want to be found..." She once met someone talking about the poster with her picture on the streets. But she chose not to come back. So she knew she didn't have any right to complain. Everything she had suffered through was all because of her.

"No, it was my fault. You wouldn't have left in the first place if I hadn't upset you." He gently wiped her tears off her face. Seeing her cry like this tore his heart apart.

She gave him an adorable daughter. Daniel was willing to love and protect her all his life because she had gone through so much just to be with him.

Janet shook her head again, "Things wouldn't have come to this if I had believed you, and I mean it. It's not your fault. In fact, I'm actually grateful for you."

She wanted to thank him for giving her the Tianye Bead, otherwise Caspar wouldn't have taken her under his care.

It was because of the Tianye Bead that she was able to stay with the Qiao clan. They were generous enough to provide a home for her and her daughters.

Casper treated her daughters with utmost care that he made sure they had everything they needed. But there was one thing that he could never give them - the love of a father.

"No, I should have been more careful, " Daniel insisted.

Poe wouldn't have had the chance to create a scandal if he hadn't been careless.

They stared at each other and... both of them suddenly burst into laughter. They had completely forgotten why they were apologizing. Instead, they were taking turns blaming themselves.

Tears were welling up in Janet's eyes again. She threw her arms around Daniel's neck and pressed her face against his chest. She took a deep breath and said, "Daniel, I want to be with you forever."

She couldn't imagine how gloomy her life would be without her family, without him. She couldn't even dare think of it.

She wanted to be his one and only for the rest of their lives.

"I promise you, Janet. You have always been, and you will always be, my one true love." He gave her his word.

Janet couldn't help crying out loud in his arms. She felt so relieved after telling him everything.

And his promise moved Janet to tears.

"There, there. Stop crying. Everything is going to be okay." Stroking her back softly, he kissed her eyes and whispered in her ears. With the love of his life in his arms, he was filled with happiness right this very moment. His joy was overflowing that he felt his heart about to explode.

Janet sobbed quietly until she gradually fell asleep in his arms.

The night fell quiet. Daniel could hear her relaxed breathing.

Daniel gently carried her to the bed, tucked her in, and adjusted the temperature of the AC before leaving the room.

Only after he went back to his office and turned on the light did he notice the water stains on his shirt.

But he had more important things to do than to change his clothes.

He had to find out who took Janet captive and where they trained her, so he could plot out his revenge.

He was going to find the culprit. He would do everything he could to find them and make them suffer. Whatever they made Janet go through, he would make sure that they received the same punishment. No matter what it took, he would make them pay ten times, or even a thousand times over.

Having made up his mind, he called Spark in.

"Mr. Si?" Spark knocked three times on the door before stepping inside. He looked around, but failed to find Janet.

He wanted to ask her about something.

"How is the investigation going with the Z Country matter?" asked Daniel while scanning through his phone's contacts. He needed more people to look into what happened to Janet.

Spark knew he was talking about Tiger. He took his phone out of his pocket and dialed the number of their investigators in Z Country.

Two minutes later, he hung up and reported to Daniel, "Mr. Si, They've found something. It was a local hooligan. Also, they have a list of everyone involved in Miss Janet's kidnapping."

"What did they do to them?" Daniel stopped swiping up on his phone, when he saw what he was looking for.

"They chopped their hands off and then let the police take over. But one of the hooligans was the grandson of the old granny who helped Miss Janet. They haven't done anything to him without your order."

Daniel had already located the old lady who had helped Janet. He wrote her a check and found her the best doctor in town.

But he never thought that one of the kidnappers would be her grandson. Despite who he was, he was stupid enough to rob Janet that day.

"Chop two of his fingers off and throw him behind bars." He would never forgive anyone who had ever hurt Janet.

"Okay, Boss Si."

"And keep an eye on the Wangfeng Cliff. The cliff is steep, so send over helicopters if necessary. Have them check every cave they can find and leave nothing out. Contact me immediately if they find anything suspicious."

Janet said the Wangfeng Cliff looked familiar. The cave should be there somewhere if her hunch was right.

"Yes, Sir. I'll do it at once."

"I need our men to sweep every corner and crevice of the Wangfeng Cliff. At the same time, send people to search every cliff and cave in Z country. Remember, every single place, " Daniel emphasized.

"Yes, Sir."

"Now, go. Do it right away. I don't care how much it takes; just get things done as soon as possible." He couldn't wait any longer. He wanted answers, and he wanted them now.

Spark reached for his phone to contact their men in Z Country to convey Daniel's orders.

Daniel was still on his phone after Spark had finished. Then, someone knocked on the door.

Spark went to open it. It was Miss Qin.

"What's the matter?" Slightly stepping aside, he looked at Daniel and asked in a low voice.

"Sabina's mother and Mrs. Yi are downstairs. They want to see Mr. Si. The receptionist told them that he is not available, but they won't listen. They are creating a fuss downstairs." Miss Qin just received a call from the front desk. Carol and Mrs. Yi had come here several times before. They wanted to see Daniel, but he rejected them every time.

They probably became too desperate this time.

"What is this all about? Have they gone out of their minds?" Spark mumbled. They were messing with Janet, yet they wouldn't seek her forgiveness. Instead, they hoped they could settle it with Daniel's help. How ridiculous they were! He knew Mr. Si wouldn't lift a finger for as long as Miss Janet was still mad at them.

No sooner had Daniel hung up his phone than he saw his subordinates whispering to each other by the door. "What's going on?" asked Daniel.

Miss Qin reported what was happening downstairs.

It wasn't the right timing anyway, especially not after Janet had told Daniel what she had been through. He still felt sorry for her and he was mad at himself for not being her side to protect her.

Now that he knew what they had done to Janet, how could he let them get away with it now that they came to him?

"Throw them out, and call the police."

Miss Qin then called the security guards and repeated Daniel's words. Carol and Mrs. Yi were humiliated when they were thrown out of the building. Gritting their teeth in fury, they couldn't do anything but leave reluctantly.

Mrs. Yi still felt so angry even after they got into the car.

Carol, however, looked at the building in front of them and suddenly had an idea.

"I have a plan!"

Mrs. Yi rolled her eyes at Carol and sourly retorted, "What are you talking about?"

They had done everything they could think of. They spent plenty of time, energy, and money to free Ethan and the children. But they failed. All of them were still restrained.

"Everything that happened that night was all about Janet. I bet Daniel won't do anything to help us. I think we need to approach Janet herself..."
