Before Carol could finish her words, Mrs. Yi said in disbelief, "It would be reasonable for me to beg for Mr. Si's forgiveness because, after all, he's a CEO of an international Group. But you're telling me that I should go beg Janet Shao? The daughter of a murderer? What a joke!"

Carol Yi glanced at her sister-in-law and said, "Look at the situation we are in! Which one do you think is more important? Your self-esteem? Or the safety of our two kids?"

Her question dumbfounded Mrs. Yi. She felt her heart ache when she thought of how her daughter must be faring in jail at the moment, and how she couldn't even get the chance to see her.

Mrs. Yi had no choice but to swallow her pride and said, "Fine. Let's visit that girl!"

But Carol lowered her head, with her palm on her forehead. Her daughter, Sabina, was Daniel's ex-girlfriend, but Janet was his current girlfriend. She was worried that Janet wouldn't let Sabina off easily because of this.

After waking up from her nap, Janet found herself in the dark. She gasped for air in panic, but when she thought of Daniel, she calmed down.

She opened the lounge room's door, and the bright light outside pierced into her eyes. It made her feel uncomfortable, so she squinted.

"Finally awake?" The man sitting in front of his desk then put down the papers in his hands and hastily came over.

Daniel then noticed that Janet had put on some makeup today. But because she had cried, her face was now disheveled and blemished with mascara.

Pinching her nose, he pretended to be disgusted and said, "Look at your face! You look like a clown."

'What? A clown?' thought Janet.

They both seemed to have an agreement to let go of what had happened that evening. In Daniel's mind, he was afraid that she would recall the miserable memories and dampen her mood again.

But in Janet's mind, she was afraid that she might burden Daniel, and she didn't want to seem pathetic in front of him.

Gradually, Janet had become sensitive to others' feelings. Now and then, she would think before she acted or said anything, so she wouldn't offend nor bother other people.

Then, Daniel held Janet's hand and took her to the bathroom. She looked at the mirror and was horrified with what she saw. Her makeup was smudged everywhere by her tears.

'Oh! How terrible!' She put on makeup to lure him, but she might have frightened him instead.

Pouting, she looked at the laughing man and asked, "Do I look ugly?"

Daniel chuckled and said, "Wash your face first."

"You just avoided my question! I definitely look ugly right now!"

Daniel simply looked at her and leaned to give her a passionate kiss. Janet had her back against the sink and was kissed so hard that she felt Daniel could swallow her up.

After a long while, he let her go. While touching her face with his big palm, he said in a hoarse voice, "Wash your face. I'll take you to dinner."

Still not over the kiss, Janet nodded her head in a daze. Now that he mentioned food, she felt hungry.

She started to wash her face, but she realized that the makeup couldn't simply be removed by water. Her makeup remover was in her car.

When he saw that Janet stopped washing, Daniel came over and asked, "What's wrong? Do you want to go out looking like that?"

"Daniel Si." She suddenly called out his full name.

Daniel frowned. It felt strange to hear her say his full name.

He demanded, "No family name." Janet raised an eyebrow, perplexed.

"Call me darling instead, " he said. Janet then understood what he was talking about.

She cleared her throat and feigned a tender voice, asking, "Daniel, could you please do me a favor?"

'You need my help?' thought Daniel. "Call me darling first, " demanded he. He had a sly smile on. Daniel wouldn't help her until she called him "darling".

Janet protested with discontent, "I'm not as shameless as you are! I'm not calling you that. If you don't help me, I'll be unhappy!"

'Unhappy? No, I won't be able to handle that!' thought Daniel. "Okay, fine, tell me what you need!"

Daniel instantly corrected his words and coaxed the woman.

Janet grinned and said, "I have a bottle of makeup remover in my car trunk. Please fetch it for me."

"Give me your car key then, " he sighed and looked at her.

"It's in my handbag." She then pointed at the handbag on the sofa outside the bathroom.

"Wait here, " said Daniel.

Janet followed him to the lounge. She saw him take out her car key from her handbag and then walked toward the lounge room's door.

"Thank you... darling." Watching his back, Janet suddenly spoke out the words Daniel had wanted to hear.

He put on a wide smile, turned around, and strode up to her. He then held her into his arms, lowered his head to give a kiss on her red lips, and said, "You're welcome, my honey!"

"Ugh. Now go!" Janet pushed him away, her face turning red.

Daniel went to the parking lot and found out Janet's car. He opened her car trunk and scanned her things.

He found several plastic bags of makeup here and there. He wondered why she bought so many. What was she going to do with them?

He also saw a big box of lipsticks. He was perplexed when he saw it, but he didn't dwell on it.

'Huh...' He found a box and thought, 'This must be bought for me!' He smiled mischievously and looked for her makeup remover.

Five minutes later, with some stuff in his hands, Daniel went back to his office.

Janet waited at the lounge room, and when she was about to lose her patience, she heard footsteps outside the door.

'Finally, he's here. But why is he laughing? Has he found the box of underpants I bought for him?' wondered Janet. When she saw him coming closer, she could clearly see the plastic bags in his hands. And she was right!

Embarrassed, she tried to explain herself, "That's... Angela forced me to buy them... Do you like them?"

No matter who had asked her to buy them, Janet still bought him underpants, so Daniel was happy about it.

He hugged her and said, "Yes, I like them very much!"

He hadn't opened the box yet, but he didn't care. They were bought by Janet, so of course he would like them!

Hearing his words, Janet felt relieved. She then took the plastic with the makeup remover and facial cleanser and casually said, "The saleswoman said that a man must have at least one red underpants in his life. I've never seen you wear a red one, so I was worried that you wouldn't like them!"

Daniel took the box out and had a better look at it. The color was indeed bright red!

'I must find out which saleswoman that was and have her fired!' thought Daniel angrily.

When Janet came out of the bathroom, Daniel had already cleared his desk and locked some important papers in his safe.

Then, they walked out of the CEO's office together.

All the secretaries were still working. Daniel announced, "Please go home early tonight."

"Yes, Mr. Si!" they all said in unison.

Shirley looked absently at the couple holding hands. She felt that they were really a match made in heaven...

Spark stared at Janet, which weirded her out.

Daniel also had noticed it, so he warned him, "Spark, go home and stare at your wife!"

"Yes, Mr. Si!" answered Spark. He instantly moved away his eyes from Janet. He wished that he could have the chance to have Janet alone, so he could ask her something.

'Oh, I can't take the doll back home! My wife will get angry, ' thought Spark.

Before he left the company, Spark randomly gave the doll to one of his workmates and said, "This is a gift from Mr. Si."

For a whole month after, that workmate of his wondered why the CEO would give him a blow-up doll.
