Alpha Loren novel Chapter 125

Fourteen hours later,

When the plane landed I got through customs pretty quickly. I hoped to see my cousin waiting, by some miracle, for me.

Hint: he wasn't.

I sighed and regretted my entire life.

He's stitched me up or maybe I've stitched myself up. I should have got Max's number of Miles but everything happened a little too quickly to think about things like that.

I began to walk with just my single rucksack and mobile phone to the exit doors. I passed all the taxi drivers waiting with their named boards not even bothering to scan for my name. How was he meant to know that I was here?

I looked up at the signs that were, unfortunately but not surprisingly, all written in Russian. Judging by the symbols also on the signs, I found my way to the toilet.

Yeah, I'm in a foreign country all alone and no place to go but a woman still gotta go.

As I was leaving the restroom, I felt a large body hit me at high impact. Casual.

"Jesus Christ," I cursed as I stumbled back into the wall.

"You fucking wish. It's Max a.k.a your favourite cousin in the whole wide world," he said roughly ruffling my hair.

"I'm not a fucking dog," I said shoving his hand off my head. "And why do you have to be so rough? I just got off a 14-hour flight."

"Miles gave you my letter I presume?"

"He did and I came straight away."

"And the Alpha?" Max asked. "I expected him to be keeping tighter reigns on you."

"He went out and left me with Luci-fucking-ano. Who sexually abused me before finally leaving me alone and giving me the opportunity to climb out the window."

"Hold on. Luciano, your cousin, sexually abused you?"

"Yeah, it was super gross. You don't want the details," I said. "So where is the amulet and how long is this going to take? I need to get back before Leo hunts us down and painfully murders us both."

"I stole a car and the drive to the mountain will take us a day. From where the road stops, there is another day's walk to where I think they are keeping it. Then we do the whole thing in reverse. Like four days?"

"Silas's birthday is in a week and I'd rather not miss that," I said.

"Who the fuck is Silas?" Max said as we approached the stolen car.

"My son," I said bluntly. "Thanks for paying attention."

"You have like a gazillion kids and I've never met any of them. How am I meant to remember their names?" he said.

It was a really nice car too. A black BMW with fancy leather seats and tinted windows.

"Talking of kids...I think that maybe you should know that I'm pregnant," I began as we got in the car.

"You weren't even back for a week and you managed to get yourself fucking pregnant?!!" Max exclaimed. "Could you not have put a pause on being the Alpha's baby machine for a few more days?!"

"Firstly, I am not the Alpha's baby machine," I stated folding my arms.

"You make his babies. That makes you his baby machine."

"Shut up," I snapped. "And who did you steal this car from? It's very swanky."

"You probably don't want to know the answer to that."

"Max..." I said sternly.

"Well...I thought that if I already have so many people hunting me down, why not add a violent Russian gang to the list? The guy who owned this probably bought it with money made from drugs and crime anyway so I didn't really steal it."

"I doubt they will view it like that, twat. We don't need more enemies. What if this thing is tracked?"

"Then we are totally fucked but we will cross that bridge when/if we come to it," he replied as we drove out of the airport grounds.

"God, I really hate you sometimes."

Hey guys, I'm going away tomorrow so I won't be able to update :( BUT on Saturday 17th February, I shall update two chapters :)
