I’m beyond happy to see you two all lovey-dovey. I’ve been working at the Chambers for years and basically watched Young Master growing up and honestly see him as my son, so I really want you two to be together. Holding Mrs. Miriam’s hand, Ophelia smiled, “Mrs. Miriam, me and Zachariah both see you as our seniors. We definitely would be happy together!”

When they got to the local market, it seemed like that everyone there knew Mrs. Miriam and asked her excitedly, “Miriam, is this your daughter or your daughter-in-law? How lovely. She is pregnant? Mrs. Miriam was beaming with smiles, “She is my employer’s daughter-in-law. She got time today and wanted to go outside with me.”

Ophelia grinned, “Hi, auntie, could you give us some discounts on the veggies since I’m new here? Mrs. Miriam always said that you have the most delicious food in the market.”

The vendor immediately got delighted and said, “How sweet are you! okay, I will give you 20% off on all the vegetables you bought here.”

While they were shopping around in the market, Ophelia garnered quite many compliments from the vendors since it was rare that a stunning girl who is just like a movie star would show up here.

The two got a bunch of groceries from the market, including some chicken and pork chops.

After returning to the home, Mrs. Miriam said, “Young Mister, you can have some rest first and I will call you when I get the materials ready.”

“Mrs. Miriam, let me prepare with you. It would be a lot of fun.”

Mrs. Miriam wasn’t able to persuade Ophelia to rest and just agreed.

While they were preparing together, Ophelia asked, “Mrs. Miriam, are you living together with your oldest son and daughter-in-law?”

“Right, I wanted to live with my little son, but my oldest one and his wife insisted on me living with them, so I had no choice but to move in with them.”

Ophelia beamed, “How sweet, Mrs. Miriam. Your sons are all so obedient and love you. Is it your little son that visited you a while ago? He is quite a fine-looking young man. Where is he working?”

Mrs. Miriam chuckled, “He was working in a private firm as a manager before, but he passed the civil servant examination three months ago and just changed the job. Though he wasn’t highly-payed, it was stable and had great benefits.”

Ophelia smiled, “It’s quite a decent job, but I heard that civil servant’s salary isn’t really high. It would be a long way to be financially sound. Why don’t you let him work for the Chambers Group?”

Mrs. Miriam shook her head, “There are a galaxy of talents in the Chambers Group and they all graduated from prestigious universities. What’s more, they are either masters or doctors from abroad. He is just an undergraduate, I wouldn’t want him to humiliate himself in the Group.”

“Mrs. Miriam, don’t say that. It’s true that the Chambers Group values degrees, but sometimes, degrees are just a piece of paper. What’s important is one’s capability. I think your son is quite a competent man and looks well-educated. You should bring him home more. We’re all a family.” Ophelia said heartily.

“Young Mister, you are such a nice person and aren’t condescending at all. I’ve been working here for decades and met some other nannies. I sometimes heard that some of the employers were quite patronizing and sometimes would even deduct the wages.”

Ophelia grinned, “Mrs. Miriam, you are basically a member of this family. There is no way that I would dare to look down upon you. I respect you more than anyone. Only those opinionated people would think that they are superior than other people.”

Mrs. Miriam smiled lovingly.

Watching Ophelia preparing the food that she had bought herself, Mrs. Miriam smiled, “Young Mister, Young Master would absolutely be touched if he knows that you prepare all the food yourself. He seems to be tough outside, but he is quite a softie inside. Though he wouldn’t show the affection explicitly, he would treasure it in the heart.”

Ophelia was actually looking forward to the candlelit dinner tonight.

It was about six o’clock when they got the meal ready.
