Blood Oath: Forever Yours novel Chapter 46

Charlotte’s heart missed one beat. She immediately turned around and found that Lawrence had lost his consciousness and was falling backwards.

“Lawrence!”

Charlotte ran towards him without hesitation, trying to pull him. However, unexpectedly, as Lawrence was so heavy, they all lost balance.

Charlotte then fell down onto Lawrence.

The two of them were so intimate to each other. Charlotte could feel his hot breaths and it scorched her skin like flames.

He had a high fever!

Charlotte was panicked and hurriedly got up to check his condition.

When she raised her hand, she found her palm was covered by blood.

“Lance?” Charlotte felt her heart ached. She hurriedly approached him and reached out her trembling hands, trying to pick him up from the ground, “What’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me…”

A burst of engine sounds sounded from not far away.

Jeffrey sped towards them. When seeing that Charlotte was still pressing on Lawrence, his expression changed slightly. He strode forward and then pulled Charlotte away from Lawrence with great force.

“Mr. Harris!”

Charlotte staggered due to the great force and her knees crashed onto the ground. She was then overwhelmed by a sharp pain.

Gritting her teeth, she struggled to support herself up from the ground. Involuntarily, she tried to explain it, “You misunderstood it. I didn’t …”

“Miss Garcia,” Jeffery interrupted her and raised his hand to gesture the doctors at the same time, “For me, whether you meant to do it or not, there’s no difference.”

Jeffery, who had always been amiable, was now glaring at Charlotte coldly.

“When you committed suicide, Mr. Harris had a car accident because he was too anxious. When he got the news about you, he immediately went to the Nameless Island regardless of his injures. Do you know how you were free? It cost Mr. Harris thirty million. He even stabbed one of his legs and even almost cut his hand!”

“In order to save you, he jumped into the sea without even treating his injures. He guessed that you would try to seek revenge on Evelyn and rushed to here without even caring about his high fever. All these actions are dangerous and he did all these because of you. He would have died if he was not lucky enough.”

Charlotte listened to his accusations quietly with her head drooped. She felt touched yet at the same time distressed and it was like her heart was boiled in hot water.

Her hands that were placed at her sides clenched into fists. After a long while, she looked up after a fierce emotional battle and looked towards Lawrence who was placed on a stretcher by the doctors. She then said in a husky voice, “I don’t deserve this.”

Jeffery let out a disdainful smile.

“Of course you don’t deserve it. You dumped Mr. Harris back then, and now, Mr. Harris also hurt you. It was your choice that led to the deaths of your father and your brother. Mr. Harris didn’t owe you anything.”

Jeffery’s eyes became colder when he recalled of something.

“In my point of view, you’re simply squandering Mr. Harris emotions towards you. It was Miss Miller who stayed by his side and made sacrifices for him. And you, you’re just bought by Mr. Harris…”

Jeffery suddenly paused as he felt he had gone too far.

Charlotte looked up at him, her face pale.

Jeffery’s words were like a hard slap on her face. She moved her lips, trying to say something, but after a long while, she only let out a light laughter.

“I know it. He bought me and I’m simply a toy for him.”

Charlotte clenched her hands into fists, trying so hard to hold back her tears.

“You don’t need to remind me of my identity. I know it all. I have no other request. I just want to follow you to the hospital. When I make sure that he’s safe, I will…”

A cold question abruptly interrupted her.

“Who do you think you are?”

Then a person rushed towards Charlotte and before she could react, she was slapped hard.
