Blood Oath: Forever Yours novel Chapter 48

The leader of those police officers narrowed his eyes and subconsciously took a glance at Allison who was standing by his side. Allison nodded her head to gesture her. He then said expressionlessly, “Since that’s the case, please come to the police station with us.”

Click.

Charlotte was then handcuffed.

Charlotte’s heart missed one beat. She was stunned and lowered her head to look at her wrists. The handcuffs were so dazzling that she felt her eyes sore. She then curled up her lips into a bitter smile.

This was cold.

Maybe she would have to weather a long and torturing period of darkness. But at least she could stay away from Lawrence.

They would not meet each other again.

Jeffery, who watched Charlotte being taken away by the police, couldn’t believe that she would give up so soon. He couldn’t help but to step forward to stop them.

“Mr. Garcia…”

Allison quickly stopped him, “Jeffery, it’s true that she tried to hit that woman with the car. The surveillance camera of the roadside has recorded it. She’s not wronged.”

“But, if Mr. Harris learns about this when he wakes up, he will definitely…”

Allison remained calm as if they were talking about an insignificant matter.

“In this world, if one does something wrong, he has to pay the price. Moreover, Lawrence is not a god who can take control of everything. Or do want her to come back to Lawrence and bring danger to him again?”

Jeffery moved his lips, trying to say something to retort her. But apparently, he was convinced by Allison and shut up his mouth.

He had never experience the love between Lawrence and Charlotte and he couldn’t resonate to such kind of feelings. What he knew was only that Charlotte was not a blessing for Lawrence; instead, she would only put him in danger.

Allison was quite satisfied with Jeffery’s reaction.

She then produced her phone and took a look at the new message.

[Evelyn has successfully left the country. Rest assured.]

Allison curled up her lips into a smile and quickly texted a message: [Watch her. I will send this time bomb back to Charlotte later.]

When the message was successfully sent, she deleted it.

When Lawrence woke up, it was already the wee hours.

The moment he opened his eyes, he involuntarily propped himself up from the bed and asked Jeffery who was standing by the bed, “Where’s she?”

Undoubtedly, he was asking about Charlotte.

Jeffery froze. The expressions on his face became unnatural. After a short while, he braced himself and answered, “Mr. Harris, Miss Garcia has left when we came back to the hospital. You were suffering a high fever and injures at that time, so we focused our attentions on you. Hence…”

Lawrence frowned when he heard the words.

“That’s all?” He was never a person to be fooled.

Noticing Jeffery’s weird expressions, Lawrence squinted at him gloomily, “Jeffery, tell me the truth.”

“Mr. Harris…”

Jeffery had been by his side for years and was quite familiar with his temperament. Lawrence looked fierce and stern. Apparently, he was not convinced. Jeffery almost failed to maintain his composure.

The door of the ward was suddenly pushed opened. Allison walked into the room with a insulation barrel at her hand and gently said to Lawrence, “Lawrence, why are you going hard with Jeffery? He didn’t lie to you. It’s true that Miss Garcia left quietly when you were sent to the hospital.”

She walked to the bed and sat down on the bedside, and then grasped Lawrence’s hand, fixing her red-rimmed eyes on him, “Or are you anticipating that it’s Charlotte to accompany you now, but not me?”
