Can't Help Falling In Love novel Chapter 39

In the CEO office.

"Wow, I didn't expect Kate to be such a woman." Jacob stared at the exposed bed pictures on the computer screen and praised.

With eyebrows slightly wrinkled, Brian pressed the mouse and tapped on the keyboard. The computer screen suddenly turned to black. When it lit up again, those pictures had disappeared without a trace.

"Boss, you are spreading virus?" Jacob asked Brian in disbelief.

Hearing that, Brian raised his eyebrows and asked, "what's your opinion?"

"No, I have no opinion." Jacob giggled.

"But, do you really believe that she is that kind of person?" Asked Jacob.

"Jacob, I am wondering if I should fire you. These photos are obviously photoshopped." Said Brian, emotionless.

Jacob was shocked. He didn't see anything wrong with these photos, but in the face of Brian, he could only pretend to be calm and said with a smile, "of course I know, I just ask you, ha ha."

After casting a glance at Jacob, Brian stood up and walked to the French window. Then he picked up his mobile phone and made a call.

Looking at Brian's straight back, Jacob had mixed feelings. From Brian's gesture, Kate was really a bit special to him. There were few things that could make Brian trouble, and Kate was one of the very few things.

"Boss, here comes Mona." Jacob hung up the phone and said to Brian.

Hearing the name 'Mona', Brian's eyes were tightened. He said in a low voice, "let her in."

Jacob nodded.

"Brother Brian, long time no see." With a sexy dress, Mona staggered towards Brian.

"Miss Mona, what can I do for you?" Brian asked politely.

"Actually, I'm here for Kate. After all, no one is fine after this accident. I came here to comfort her, but I didn't see her in the office. So I came here to see you." Mona sat gracefully before Brian, like a sexy black swan.

"Thank you for your concern. I remember that Miss Mona told me something about her last time. Can you make it clear now?" Without look on his face, Brian looked at Mona quietly.

However, with a question from Brian, Mona was in a good mood and began to chatter.

Jacob shook his head and thought to himself, 'if Brian hadn't become the CEO, he could have been qualified for the job of an outstanding detective.'.

On the other side, Kate and Lora spent a long time searching for Sherry, but they still didn't see her. In the evening, they went to the police station to report the case.

After they left the police station, Lora wanted to go home with Kate, but she was refused. Kate wanted to be alone, so she might have a clue.

As soon as she got home, she received a call from Sherry. Kate had tried to call Sherry before, but her phone had been switched off. Seeing that it was from Sherry, Kate quickly picked up the phone.

"Sherry, where are you?" Kate shouted at the phone.

"Kate." Sherry's voice was very weak, as if she was floating in the air and could not find land to stop.

The voice scared Kate. She shouted at her, "where the hell are you? I'm coming for you! "

"Kate, don't look for me. Just think that I'm dead. Thank you. But for you, I can't have been lived for now. "

"Kate, be careful of Ryan. He has changed."

"Kate, please take care of my parents for me. They must be very tired,"

"Kate, you are my best friend. Goodbye."

Sherry's voice was as flat as it had never been, as if she had no attachment to the world. Kate shouted on the phone, "Sherry!"

The only response was a beep. Kate tried her best to call back, but her phone was already turned off.

Where on earth was Sherry? What happened to her again?

Kate squatted down and started to cry with her arms around her knees.

They were twins. If it weren't for Sherry, Kate wouldn't have gone that far. Now she was the only one left on the road where they walked side by side.

Sherry, don't die! I will find you for sure! Kate prayed in her heart. From the tone of the call just now, she always felt that Sherry didn't want to live any more. She knew that Sherry was fragile and sensitive. It was easy for her to take things too hard and get trapped in her prison.

It was at this moment that Kate found herself so helpless. Her best friend was missing. She could do nothing but call the police.

After a long time, Kate stood up and cleared up her own things, but she made everything in a mess. Finally, she left everything behind and went back to her room for sleep.

In the past few years, Kate had become a queen in Sherry's eyes. All the housework were taken by Sherry, and Kate was only responsible for eating, drinking and playing. Since there was a lot of free time for Sherry, and Kate had to go outside everyday.

After Sherry left, Kate found that she was so spoiled by her that she could do nothing.

The next day, Kate was awakened by the dazzling sunshine. She dragged the quilt, lay listlessly on the bed, and didn't even move a little.

Kate called Sherry again, but Sherry's phone was still powered off. Without any reply, she felt even more uneasy.

It suddenly occurred to her that she left in a hurry yesterday without asking for leave from the company. Her salary would be deducted.

Now she was an online celebrity. She felt it funny to think about the reason why she was famous. He wondered how Brian would react when he saw the news. Would he believe it? Or would he trust her?

After hesitating for a while, Kate called Brian.

"Mr. Brian, can I ask for a few days off?" Sitting on a bench on the street, Kate looked at the her fingers and asked.

"Because of the scandal on the Internet?" Asked Brian.

"Yes, but not completely. Sherry disappeared." Hearing the sound of Brian, Kate was so sad that she almost wanted to cry.

Kate seldom mentioned Sherry in front of Brian, but Sherry knew that Sherry was the girl who had always been with her.

"What can you do except calling the police?" Brian asked indifferently.

"I have to find her." Speaking of this, Kate got impatient.

There was no sound from the other side of the phone. Just when Kate thought Brian was gone, she heard the word "where are you?"

Kate was shocked. After telling her the address, she asked foolishly, "are you coming here to find me?"

"Don't run about." After that, Brian hung up the phone. Kate could not accept it. He was coming to find her, together with her.

Since when had she become so familiar with Brian?

Kate quickly got up from the bed and cleaned herself.

When she just finished tidying up, she heard someone knocking at the door. Her heart skipped a beat and she became a little nervous. When Kate went to her company for an interview back then, she was very calm. But she just met her boss now and why did she feel nervous. She despised herself in her heart.

She walked to the door and opened it.

It was Moore who just came back from abroad.

"Kate." Moore gently smiled at her.

"How do you know this place?" Seeing it was Moore, the nervousness in her heart immediately deflated like a deflated ball.

Instead of answering Kate's question, Moore looked inside through Kate's shoulder politely and asked, "may I come in?"

"Come in." Hearing this, Kate felt embarrassed to refuse him.

Following behind Kate, Moore took a look at this small suite and smiled: "I didn't expect you to live here."

Kate was amused and said, "what else do you think I will live? Those high-rise buildings? "

"Of course not." Moore said in a hurry.

Kate thought her words were harsh, so she didn't say anything.

After a long while, Kate raised her head and looked at Moore. She said sincerely, "I was wrong at that time. I didn't take your feelings into consideration. I only took myself into consideration."

"You don't have to apologize to me. I also did something wrong. Let bygones be bygones," The tender and gentle smile on Moore's face was as gentle as it was.

Compared with years ago, Moore looked more mature and steady. He was gentle, but also a little sophisticated and domineering.

"Moore, can you tell me why you came here?" Kate put the glass of water in front of Moore and asked politely.

"Where is Sherry? Isn't she with you? " Moore asked confusedly.

"She was missing, last night." Kate said lightly. She was a little tired and didn't want to talk about it now.

Moore was a little bit stunned, feeling that Kate was impatient, and he didn't ask any more.

Looking at the calm look on Kate's face, Moore couldn't help but feel a little sad. It had only been two years, and she didn't have deep feelings for him in her heart. Perhaps from the beginning, she had no feelings for him.

"Kate, what's your relationship with the CEO of the Li group? Why did you accompany him last time? " Moore was still mad at what happened last time, especially the words from Brian.

Hearing what Moore asked, Kate was confused. What's the relationship between her and Brian? Was it a boss and subordinate, or a couple? Or were they just intimate partner? She thought for a few seconds and replied with a smile, "Moore, you are more and more good at prattling around. You haven't answered my question yet."

Moore smiled awkwardly and said, "you are the best. It's not a big deal. I just want to have a chat with my old friend. "

"So it is." Kate nodded with smile.

Originally, she was very afraid of meeting Moore or anything related to her past. However, when the past was exposed, in fact, Kate thought there was nothing to be afraid of.

Since things had come to the worst, she was not afraid.
