Can't Let Go novel Chapter 48

  Two days later

  Today was Qu Zhirongs birthday.

On her birthday there would be a super big party for her every year.

This year, Mary Yun and Michael Huo were engaged.

So this party would be much much grander.

All the rich and the powerful in Austral City came, even some popular stars were included.

Outside the house of Huo, surrounded many reporters.

They were to take pictures not only of the stars, but also of those bigwigs.

Qu Zhirong was smart. Before her birthday, she had sent invitations to three of the biggest media companies of Austral City.

First of all, she wanted her birthday news to be reported grandly.

Second, she gave some advantages to those three big media companies, so it would be much convenient if she needed them in the future.

At present, the people at the house of Huo were methodically busy.

However, at the house of Yun, people were crazily busy.

Before daybreak, Linda Yun on the first floor was sleeping and then heard Mary Yun making a noise.

Ah..., Which one am I going to wearing?

Linda Yun turned over and covered herself up with a quilt.

Yun Hongzhi woke up quite early to dress himself up, too.

He was one of the bigwigs in Austral City, too.

And now, he had clung on Huo's which was really rich and powerful.

He was sure to dress up to the nines for todays big scene.

Gu Liangchen made an appointment with make-up artists and dressers early in the morning to get Mary Yun and himself dressed.

Three hosts in the house were crazily busy.

While Linda Yun just got up, washed her face and rinsed her teeth.

Today was Wednesday, she was supposed to go to school.

But she asked for a leave.

But she didn't ask for a leave to celebrate Qu Zhirongs birthday.

She thought that the last person Qu Zhirong wanted to see was her.

As for her families, none of them wanted her to go.

After last time staying overnight at Huo's, it seemed that they began to guard against her.

Though they no longer questioned her.

She could see something strange from their eyes.

  She didn't care at all.

Now, what she wanted was just to set James Yun up, to make him fail hard for once.

Before she left Austral City, she would sent Qu Zhirong a voice recording pen.

There would be what Mary Yun shouted crazily at home, yelling and shouting at her.

She believed that when Qu Zhirong heard this, she might reconsider her choice of her daughter-in-law.

So, now she needed a plan to set James Yun up.

Today Linda Yun was wearing a black overcoat.

This was her birthday gift that Patricia Bai gave her on her twentieth birthday.

However, Mary Yun, who was coming from upstairs was dressed quite beautifully.

Mary Yun was wearing white and pink dress which was custom-made. Her dress was shinny, making her look like a fairy.

What was more attractive was that she was wearing a perfect make-up. Her every move could catch peoples eyes.

Linda Yun faintly smiled, she had the same beauty as Mary Yun, mostly taking after Bin Qin.

It was a pity that Mary Yun, who had such a pure and innocent face, was not grateful at all.

"Good morning, dad." Mary Yun walked over, smiling.

James Yun simply answered, sitting at the table, and then began to enjoy the breakfast the Nanny Feng served.

Gu Liangchen was dressed in a dark green cheongsam, making her a hour-glass figure.

Then, she sat beside James Yun.

Compared, Linda Yun seemed to be out of place.

"Why are you wearing so cheap like this again?" Mary Yun glanced at her, saying.

Linda Yun looked at her, saying, "Cheap?"

Dad transferred you to Sage College. Do you have any idea that it had cost us a lot. That school is not a shoddy school in Tung City. The people in Sage college are rich. Look at yourself, what kind of clothes are you wearing? Haven't I given you many clothes? Then Mary Yun looked at James Yun, say, Daddy, look at her. If she wears like this, many people may misunderstand us that we abuse her!

James Yun looked at Linda Yun, frowning, saying, "Your sister has given you so many clothes. Why don't you put those on? What kind of clothes are you wearing?"

Linda Yun lifted her arms, looking at her clothes, saying, "there is no hole. Why can't I wear it?"

"Ugh, Linda Yun. Please don't tell me that you don't throw away your clothes until they get broken..." She shook her head, saying, "I would never wear clothes for three times."

Linda Yun didn't say a thing about it, not even a perfunctory smile.

  Was that really necessary?

"I'm finished, bye." She stood up and went away.

"Where are you going?" Mary Yun stood up and asked immediately.

Linda Yun stopped but didn't look back.

"I know that you asked for a leave today. Where are you going? I can ask the driver to get you there." Mary Yun said.

  Let the driver drive her?

Would that be a Greek Gift?

"It is not convenient for you to go out so early. I can just ask a driver to drive you." Mary Yun came up to Linda Yun, looking at her, raising her eyebrows, and said, " You are my dearest sister and I can't not have you walked several kilometers to take a bus."

Linda Yun stared at her for a moment, and then suddenly smiled, saying, "Well then, thanks, sister."

  Then she walked straight out.

She knew what Mary Yun was doing.

Was She afraid that Linda Yun would go to Huo's?

Or, was she afraid that Linda Yun would go and meet Michael Huo?

Linda Yun smiled helplessly. Anyway, she took some advantages. Being driven was better than walking.

At the outskirts of Austral City.

"Miss Yun, since you've arrived. I shall leave." The driver looked at her and said.

  "OK, thanks."

The driver said nothing and just left.

Linda Yun turned around and walked inside, holding a bunch of flower in her hands.

Today was the seventh day after Patricia Bai 's death.

She asked for a leave on purpose and came to visit her.

Early in the morning, it was a bit cold and foggy. There were few people, even the old man guarding the cemetery just woke up.

She walked in, holding the flowers.

After her death, it was the second times she got here.

Seven days was like a whole life to her.

"I'm late. I'm so so sorry, Qin. I'm sorry..."

All of a sudden, a strange voice reached her ears.

Linda Yun raised her eyebrows and walked over with confusion.

In front of Patricia Bai 's tomb, a man was kneeling on the floor.

His hand was touching Patricia Bai 's photo and his tears were falling.

  "Who are you?"

A sudden voice stunned the man.

He looked back at her, shocked for a while.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Linda Yun frowned, saying unhappily.

The man quickly picked up the walking stick on the floor and stood up, looking at her, saying shakily, "You... You must be Nian!"

Linda Yun looked at him on guard, saying, "You are...?"

  "I...I'm Steven Meng!"

Linda Yun was slightly shocked, saying with cautiously, "Steven Meng? Are you uncle Meng?"

"Ah, You know about me!" Steven Meng got excited at once.

"You are uncle Meng, who has been sending us money for more than ten years?" Linda Yun asked, frowning.

Steven Meng nodded, wiping away tears, saying "I'm so sorry. I didn't know that she was so sick..."

Linda Yun looked at her gray hair, unshaven beard. He was liming. She wondered how he got here.

Steven Meng slowly sat down and put her walking stick aside, looking at Patricia Bai 's photo on the tombstone, starting to cry again.

Linda Yun couldn't help feeling sorry.

"Uncle Meng, the money you have sent us, my mum asked me to save it. She also asked me to find you and return the money. Where are you living now? I will bring you that card tomorrow."

Steven Meng looked at her, frowning, and said, "The money I've sent, Qin didn't use it?"

Linda Yun shook her head. She still didn't understand why her mum never used that windfall when they were so poor.

Now, she knew that uncle Meng needed that money more than they did...

"She's a silly lady..." He pounded his leg, saying "She knew that I became disabled and would not want to spend any money. But didn't I write to her that I recovered?"

"Uncle Meng, what happened between you and my mum?" She asked prudently.

Steven Meng looked at her, shaking his hands hurriedly, saying, "Please don't get me wrong. There was nothing between her and me. I just simply liked her..."

Linda Yun wasn't shocked. A strange man, sending thirty thousand one day before every New Years eve for more than ten years.

If it wasn't for love, she couldn't believe who could be so selfless.

"Nian, you mum was so nice. She should not just died so early..." Steven Meng cried again.

Linda Yun looked at the tomb, saying sadly, "Isn't it the old saying that the good don't live long!"

Steven Meng looked at her and then said, Nian, I've just arrived here, and I saw you were judged by many people. But why don't you clarify yourself. That's not who you are!

Linda Yun tilted her head in his direction, saying confusingly, "How do you know that I'm not like that?"

"Qin was so nice and kind. So her daughter would never be a bad guy. You took the blame for your sister, didn't you?" Linda Yun was a bit shocked.

She had never thought that there should be a person that was so sure that girl on the news was not her!

Nian, You don't need to return the money. I don't need this. Now, I mend shoes for others every month and I can get the government financial support. I can live with it. You should take that money and leave the Yun's, living in somewhere else, starting all over again!

Linda Yun looked at this simple and frugal man, feeling like to cry. Then she smiled and said, Uncle Meng , you know what? My mum didn't die of an accident. It was my sister and dad. They forced her to death. So, uncle, do you still think that I can just leave?

Then Linda Yun smiled reluctantly, saying, "How can I just leave? How can I just let them be so happy? Uncle, How can I do that Uh?"

"You can't beat them!" Steven Meng said.

"I can't? How so I know if I don't tried?" Linda Yun was looking at her with red eyes, saying.

"How are you going to do that? Your mum was wronged by them seventeen years age and was almost hit to death. So, how are you going to do that alone?" Steven Meng said loudly out in a hurry.

  Linda Yun was totally stunned.

Uncle Meng, what...what did you say?
