Can't Let Go novel Chapter 112

When she dragged her tried body back to the Huo house, it was already 1:00 a.m.

"Don’t be childish. Come back home. And we will go there to bury Uncle Meng tomorrow!"

"Girl, you’re already married. It’s improper to stay out late. Be reasonable!"

Linda Yun’s head ached like crazy. She didn’t make any response to those maids’ greeting to her.

She walked to the third floor and pushed the door open.

She then turned around and closed it quietly.

However, the dark room was lightened up instantly.

She subconsciously lifted her hand before her eyes to block some strong light.

But a few seconds later, she put them down and walked in.

She walked through the bedroom lounge and came directly into the room. The man was dressed up and was sitting by the window, gazing at her.

Cigarette butts were overflowing the ashtray on the table beside him.

And the room was full of the smell of tobacco.

Linda Yun frowned, which was not sensed by the man. She turned around and headed to the bathroom as if he was not there.

Michael Huo stood up and opened the window to change air.

  After a while,

She walked out of the bathroom.

Then she came to the bed without saying a word, got into the bed and pulled the quilt on herself.

She did this process mechanically like she was a robot.

The man’s deep dark eyes were fixing on her.

A moment later, he sighed and came to the bed, "Sorry, it was my fault not having taken your feelings toward Steven Meng into consideration!"

Linda Yun was lying on her side with her back toward the man. She closed her eyes and didn’t move.

"I guess you don’t wanna sleep with me tonight..."

The man stood up and walked toward the door. But he was stuck half way as if something occurred to him.

Then he bent over to the bedside cupboard, pulled the drawer, took out a thing and placed it before her. He said in a husky voice, "As for this incident, I’ll investigate it clear for you. And... I don’t wanna see you cry anymore. I assume you Uncle Meng wouldn’t like that, too."

After finishing his words, the man left the room.

  When the door was shut,

  She opened her eyes.

On her bedside cupboard, there lied a medical ice eye mask...

  At the hospital,

  "Mary..."

Qu Zhirong tried to call her.

Mary Yun fell into an oddly negative mood ever since she’d been disfigured. She refused to eat, to drink or to have the treatment.

Even if both Liangchen Gu and James Yun came to console her, she was like a corpse still with no response.

On seeing this, Qu Zhirong didn’t feel very well that she lost her appetite.

At this moment, David Huo had already fallen asleep. And Liangchen Gu and James Yun went back home.

So Qu Zhirong came to Mary’s ward in her wheelchair.

As expected, Mary Yun was not asleep. She was tightly holding her knees, facing a bowl of cooled porridge.

Qu Zhirong frowned, rolled her wheelchair toward and touched her.

Mary Yun then came to herself, she looked at Qu and squeezed some smile, "Aunt..."

Hearing this, Qu’s heart wrenched madly that her eyes turned reddened with tears, "Mary, are you calling me... aunt?"

Mary Yun lowered her head without speaking a word.

"Why? Why did you save me at that time? You could have escaped!" This was the ultimate doubt under the bottom of her heart.

Back then her leg was stuck because of a rolled over car.

Mary Yun did crawl out but she returned into the vehicle for her.

  Why?

Mary Yun looked up at Qu Zhirong with tearful eyes, and she said in a hoarse voice, "I don’t know. I wanna go, I really wanna go, but... but here..." She pointed at her heart, "It hurt like crazy. It told me I must save you. No matter what would happen, I couldn’t leave you behind, so..."

"It’s Susan... It’s Susan..." Instantly, Qu Zhirong burst into tears.

It must be Susan that required her alive!

Mary Yun lowered her eyes and sobbed, "Maybe". Then she uttered with some tears, "Aunt, you just hate me. For I didn’t save myself. But, but I, I haven’t met and fallen in love with Michael Huo before that!"

Qu Zhirong looked at her in doubt.

"You see, I and Susan used to be great friends. I knew Susan was Michael’s girlfriend. How could I manage to play these tricks. I wished them a happy life forever. But I admired her luck and I also wanted a boyfriend..."

Then she started to sob, "After that accident, her heart was implanted in my chest so I truly fell in love with Michael Huo. But I swear I never did anything cheating on him from that moment... Why, why he said these comments about me?"

  "Mary..."

Mary Yun grabbed Qu’s hand and said, "I don’t care what he said about me. Yes, I did these. But, but how could he doubt Susan? I felt I have inherited everything from her after I had her heart. I love him very much, but..." She gradually released her hand, "Maybe I’m just like Susan--never have the chance to marry him."

Her tears dropped onto the sheet.

Mary Yun smiled faintly, "Now I’m disfigured like this. I just cannot get close to him with this ugly face." Then she took a deep breathe, "But I’m gonna be fine. As long as aunt wasn’t injured, it is enough. Otherwise me and Susan will be blamed and feel great pain!"

"Mary..." Qu Zhirong was holding her hand and couldn’t stop weeping.

"Aunt, you may leave. You don’t have to feel sorry. After all, Susan loved you the most. And I must do something for her as her heart was beating in my chest." Then she was about to lie down.

"Mary!" Suddenly, Qu Zhirong clutched her hand and claimed, "You didn’t lose and you won’t!"

Staring at her, Mary Yun was confused.

"Michael did love Susan. Though he doesn’t, he does owe her. She saved his life five years ago. Now that you’ve been disfigured, why not having a cosmetic surgery and put on her face?"

Mary Yun was completely stuck, "I, I have Susan’s... face by a cosmetic surgery?"

Qu Zhirong nodded, "You’re bound to win him back as you have both her face and her heart. Susan shared a relationship with him for 20 years! How could this strong bond be changed by merely someone he has only known for one year? What’s more, they grew up together!"

Mary Yun was overwhelmingly shocked by her words.

Why it didn’t occur to her?

  To have Susan’s face.

And she already has her heart.

  And then...

Mary Yun just couldn’t help beaming but she pretended to sob and looked at Qu, "It’s... It’s this alright? Do I really have the right to have her face?’

"Of course you can. I will transfer you to another hospital tomorrow. We are going abroad. They have top-notch technologies that could do magic on your face swiftly!" Qu held her hand and assured her, "Just don’t worry, I’ll help you."

On hearing this, Mary Yun bent over to embrace Qu.

  "Thank you, aunt, thank you..."

Her smile then turned into a devious expression.

Linda Yun, just wait and see!

  ————

  The next day,

Linda Yun woke up very early.

She had an appointment with George Mo last night that they were going to cremate Steven Meng’s corpse.

  And bury his ashes.

She didn’t want to procrastinate so she got up early.

But to her surprise, Michael Huo got out of the bed even earlier.

Or whether he had slept last night, she had no idea.

He was wearing the same outfit as last night’s.

Seeing her walk to the door, he came to her and said, "I drive you there."

  "No, thanks." She declined coldly.

Michael Huo didn’t speak but grabbed her wrist and shoved her a file.

Linda Yun twisted her eyebrows. Her hands remained beside her body.

"Take it, or you wanna me to be an accompany?"

Linda Yun looked at him--the man got dark circles around his eyes, which made him seem a little bit aged.

She took the file and opened it in front of him.

She was stuck the moment she saw what’s in it.

"What do you mean?" Linda Yun cast him a cold eye.

"He means a lot to you, so I redeem that you might want him to sleep beside your mom. And it will be convenient for you to visit them both."

It was the contract of the tomb beside Patricia Bai’s.

Actually, she did contact Luochen Cemetery yesterday.

But many decent spots have already been reserved.

The tomb beside her mom had a reservation a month ago by an old man. So she gave up.

It never occurred to her that he took the place from that old man.

Michael Huo remained silent and stared at her.

Linda Yun gazed back. Then she snorted, waving the contract in hand, "Do you really think I would thank you for this?"

After hearing this, the man lowered his eyes that no one could see. His voice was calm and stable, "I never expect you to thank me. Just take it. Use it if you like, or you could just throw it away."

Then the man turned around and walked to his room.

Linda Yun stood there petrified for a few seconds. And she lifted her head, a sense of faint smile flashed on her face.

  What she wanted wasn’t wealth.

  What she wanted wasn’t status.

What she wanted was merely a trust.

What she wanted was a man who loved her whole-heartedly.

Michael Huo, you will never get it!

The file was tossed hard onto the floor.

And she turned around and directly left there.

She walked to the gate and checked her cell phone--she had ordered a car.

But the car hadn’t got there yet.

"Miss Yun!" A sudden and familiar voice was calling her.

Linda Yun looked back--it was Joe Guo.

Joe Guo came closer and spoke to her with a serious look, "Miss Yun, I know I’m just an assistant and I should discuss your affair. But forgive me, I can’t hold these words back. Don’t you know how much Mr Huo loves you? While you always keep a far distance from him and continue resisting him. I know you had a difficult past, but have you thought of him?"

Linda Yun frowned, she didn’t get his meaning.

Joe Guo took a deep breath to restrain his anger, "Yesterday you were taken to the police station. Don’t you know that he was confirming an essential contract with the president of JO Group? He left the president and went to look for you. So the contract was canceled, which cost him three hundred billion yuan of loss. On his way to the station, Director Fang said that you might be accused as a suspect, so he exerted all his connections to set you free. He has never asked any favor from others before. He is caring about you, worrying about you. But what about you?"

Linda Yun, on the other hand, was slightly stuck. Apparently she didn’t know his efforts.

"But how dare you hug and flirt with someone else at the funeral parlour?"

She frowned, with someone else, at the funeral parlour, hugged and flirted?

  "So you came to..."

"Or what? You left the police station hurriedly. He was worried about you but he had to talk to Director Fang first to settle your mess. And then he arrived there. Of course, he has been helping you all the time, can’t you see that? Your being kidnapped, being framed and your father’s son was being punished by him for... can’t you see that?"

Linda Yun didn’t speak, she was petrified by his words.

"I know you have a hard past so it is acceptable for you to put up a fence. But I beg you, don’t hurt him okay?Seriously, if you don’t love him, let go of him!"

After finishing this, he frowned, got into the car and left right away.

Linda Yun retrospected his words again and again. She didn’t come to herself.

"Beep, beep, beep." Her car arrived. The honk pulled her back to reality.

Linda Yun couldn’t help looking back at the contract lying on the ground.

But she withdrew her eyes and remained silent.

"Miss, shall we go?" The driver called her.

"Wait a minute!" Linda Yun turned back and walked there.

She bent over to pick up the contract for a tomb. Her hair was blown by the wind, a small string of it tapped on her fair white face, which made her a little bit absent-minded...
