Can't Let Go novel Chapter 147

George held Duoduo while Linda held his arms. They walked outside.

These journalists clustered around them, and kept raising various questions. They wouldn’t care whether the topics were sharp or not, and whether it was appropriate to talk about them.

Linda didn’t pay much attention to them. She lowered her head, pulled George and walked very fast.

It was a five-star hotel, but why would those journalists enter into here so freely?

Linda wasn’t an idiot. She knew that it must be a malicious manipulation by someone.

  So who did it?

  Was it Qu Zhirong?

She was confused and felt dizzy and fretful.

They came to the first floor soon. The waiters hastened to go up and separated them away on seeing so many journalists surrounding them.

“Call a cab for me.” Linda said to a waiter rapidly.

  “OK!”

“Ms. Yun, where are you going?”

“Ms. Yun, you haven’t answered our questions yet!”

The journalists wouldn’t give up. They grabbed her clothes and wouldn’t let her go.

These were breaking news. Any piece of it would bring their company more rate of exposure.

  Letting her go?

  How could it be possible?

“What are you doing?” George held Duoduo and grabbed the wrist of a journalist who caught Linda’s clothes and stopped her from leaving. He bellowed: “What are you doing?”

The journalist was startled instantly on hearing his shout.

“Why? Why are you so mad? Do you think you are correct by being involved in a love affair?” The journalist felt ashamed after George roared to him. So he shouted back loudly.

His shout came with countless flashing lights. Even the guests in the lobby waiting to check in were looking at them from sideways.

“It’s right, Mr. Mo. Are you flaring up from shame?” Other journalists burst into laughter.

The rest of them echoed with laughter as well. The flashing lights shone on Duoduo’s eyes directly.

George hastened to cover Duoduo’s eyes with his hands. He was just about to flare up when an exclamation was suddenly raised.

  “Here comes Mr. Huo!”

Somebody screamed. Those journalists suddenly trembled and turned around quickly.

Michael walked in while being attended by over 20 men in uniforms.

Those men were all strong and tall. They walked up quickly and separated the journalists away with their infinite strength.

In a moment, there was no obstacle around George and Linda.

Those journalists were a little scared of his title, and dared not go up.

But they were still unwilling to the camera which they lived on. They held it and kept shooting.

Joe stood in the middle of the crowd. He looked at the journalists and asked sternly: “You will receive our lawyer’s letters and we’ll look into the fact of your fabrication and false accusation. You need to take on corresponding legal liabilities!”

Everybody was stunned and they looked at each other.

“Mr. Huo, can... can you stop acting like this? We haven’t misunderstood her, your ex-wife admitted it herself!”

  “That’s right, Mr. Huo!”

The journalists would never give up naturally and they hastened to yell.

The man slightly turned aside slightly. His dark eyes were as deep and secluded as an ancient well. His thin lips were spread with a faint smile, making his aura invisible but strong.

“Oh? My ex-wife? You, say it again!”

He turned around and looked at those journalists. His dark eyes flashed with a gleam of obscure and dim light.

All of a sudden, nobody would even dare to breathe.

How could there be such a powerful man in the world. A simple glance of him would nearly make them lose their breath.

Silence reigned the surroundings in a sudden.

“Michael, that video is framing us up! I haven’t done anything unfair to you with Nian!” George hastened to explain anxiously.

The journalists hissed contemptuously on hearing it at once.

  Obviously, nobody would believe it.

Michael gave George a faint smile. He lowered his head slightly, and looked at her, wearing a faint smile on his lips: “Are you hurt? Sorry I’m late!”

“Mr. Huo, you can’t be deceived!”

Someone couldn’t bear to see any more of it and yelled.

Presently, various echoes arrived in quick succession.

Generally, they were saying: “Don’t be taken in by the woman, she is cheating on you!”

The man didn’t pay any attention to those chirping journalists. Instead, he looked attentively at the woman in front of him. The reflection in his eyes was all about her.

“Do you believe it?” She mumbled after a long while. The voice was light and remote. Without listening carefully, one wouldn’t even believe she had just spoken.

The man held her cheeks with his right hand, pulled her into his arms and said in a low voice: “Is that video real?”

His tone wasn’t high, so the journalists standing over 2m from them could only see he hugging her near him. They didn’t hear anything.

Linda didn’t speak. She stared at him scornfully: “If I say it’s not, will you trust me?”

On seeing it, Michael’s lips were unconsciously upturned. He pressed her onto his own chest, while putting his ears close to hers. He said with a firm voice: “As long as you deny it, I’ll trust you!”

  Linda:...

  At this moment.

Her heart that had been closed for a long time leaped again.

Linda’s eyes suddenly turn red while being hugged by him.

What kind of deep love made him trust her so unconditionally?

She chuckled and said helplessly: “I can only tell you that I haven’t done anything unfair to you when I’m with you!”

On hearing it, the man unclasped her, then he put his arms around her shoulders and faced the public: “This is Michael’s wife. If you have anything to say, please talk to my secretary. But Huo’s Group will reserve the right to investigate your slandering of my wife!”

The next second, he was hugging Linda and asking George to walk outside with him.

At this moment, those flashing lights were switched on in craze again.

  At the Huo’s.

Jennifer Huo sat in the room. Her tears kept falling down on seeing this scene.

  Duoduo.

  He was her son.

How could it sound so harsh for him...

  What should she do?

What could she do to remove the stains from Linda?

Should she admit that Duoduo was her son?

  But...

Once she admitted it, her past with Richard ... that would be found out, by that time, things would get complicated...

  What could she do?

Who could tell her what on earth she could do?

“Fei!” Suddenly, someone was knocking at the door.

Jennifer Huo was startled on hearing it. She hastened to take out tissues to wipe her tears away.

Just at this moment, the door to the room was open.

In came her fiancé, Wayn Ding.

“What’s up? Why are you crying out of nothing?” Wayn hastened to come up and said nervously.

Jennifer Huo shook her head. She couldn’t help glancing at the TV.

Wayn also looked in the same direction. He knitted his brows instantly: “Your sister-in-law is rather rash! She cheated on your elder brother in marriage. That’s not enough, she even gave birth to a dumb boy!”

Jennifer Huo looked at him as if she couldn’t believe it: “What are you talking about?”

“I was saying, Linda was rather rash! I wouldn’t want such a woman even if she were given to me for free!” Wayn’s eyes were filled with contempt and satire.

“Wayn!” Jennifer Huo roared: “My sister-in-law isn’t that kind of person!”

Wayn had never seen Jennifer Huo going mad like that, so he was struck dumb at once.

Then, he hastened to respond, grabbing her wrist and begging for her mercy: “Fine, fine, fine. I’m wrong. Why are you so angry? I wasn’t talking about you. What are you angry about?”

Jennifer Huo shook off his hand, and her eyes became even redder: “Duoduo isn’t disabled, either! I don’t allow you to talk about her like that!”

Wayn was baffled by her unusual behavior: “What’s wrong with you? Why are you quarreling with me for a stranger?”

“Go away, I don’t want to go out today!”

“Hey, what do you mean? Why don’t you want to go out? Didn’t we agree to take wedding photos today?”

“I won’t go!” Jennifer Huo sat on the bed, she couldn’t be more depressed.

Wayn was a dandy boy. His family was well-off.

But she didn’t like him at all.

She was with him only because he looked a little like Richard .

“Jennifer Huo, why are you making such a scene!” Wayn frowned: “You are so unreasonable!”

“Right, I’m unreasonable, go away!” Jennifer Huo stood up and pushed him outside.

“Huo Lingfe, what are you doing?”

Jennifer Huo didn’t want to pay any attention to him. She pushed him out and closed the door.

Presently, she sat on the floor, hugged herself and cried.

She had cried for nobody knew how long it was until the door to the room was opened again.

“I’m asking you to go away, can’t you hear me?”

Without raising her head, she roared angrily.

“Who is bullying you?” Abruptly, a voice that couldn’t be more familiar was heard.

Jennifer Huo was shaking all over her body. She looked at the person in astonishment.

  Three years.

It had been three years since he left.

No, he had hid himself for three years.

Jennifer Huo stared at him. She found him at once familiar and strange.

For a while, she had mixed feelings.

Richard was also feeling complicated on seeing her.

  “What’s wrong with you?”

Jennifer Huo hastened to stand up and wiped away her tears: “It’s OK.” With it, she looked at him and smiled stubbornly: “What brings you here? Aren’t you supposed to be busy flying nationwide?”

“Are you getting married?” Richard stared at her and inquired.

Jennifer Huo looked at him with red eyes: “Yes, in a month, I’ll be the most beautiful bride. Cousin, do you want to bless me?”

Richard suddenly felt suffocated on seeing her thin smile.

“Really?” He smiled bitterly, “Then congratulations on you!”

Jennifer Huo also smiled in a way uglier than crying: “Thanks, I also wish you can find the right girl for you as soon as possible!”

On saying it, she walked outside: “I’ll take wedding photos today, if you want to see my mom, you can wait at home, they shall come back soon!”

However, at the moment she was passing by Richard , he grabbed her wrist.

Hou Jennifer stopped her steps at once.

“I heard that you were pregnant?”

Jennifer Huo was shaking all over her body. She looked at him in astonishment.

Richard looked back at her. There was pain, indecisiveness, sadness, helplessness, and even...expectation in his eyes.

  “The kid was mine...wasn’t he?”

Jennifer Huo’s eyes started to glimmer. Her face looked more and more awkward. As if touching a hot potato, she hastened to shake off his hand: “No, no, I have never been pregnant!”
