Can't Resist the Billionaire novel Chapter 49

Before I could explain, Vincent immediately bowed excitedly and kissed my lips. Compared to his overbearing kiss before, he was more patient and gentle today. I couldn't help but be aroused by him.

My fingers involuntarily stretched to his back. I held the man tightly, half resisting and half mumbling obediently. "What are you doing? Don't you know that my foot is injured?"

Vincent's movements were gentle, but he didn't allow me to resist. He swore and whispered in my ear, "Jasmine, I swear that I will only have you in the future. If I break my oath, I will die in a bad way!"

"Don't say such scary words. I don't like them!"

"I don't know why he made such a poisonous vow, and I don't know if such a vow is meaningful to him. But I really don't like listening. Perhaps compared with the dead, even if I am abandoned, it is better to see this man who used to have close contact with me die in front of me."

Perhaps I'm an indecisive person. So even if I knew Christopher betrayed me and sold me, I still didn't have that kind of decisive attitude towards him.

But maybe it was my personality and reaction, that finally made the other side think that he was good at bullying, or they had no more feelings for him.

Vincent drove back to City B early in the morning. As soon as he left, Mr. Murphy called. Last night, in order to make it convenient for me to contact Mr. Murphy, Vincent input his phone number into my phone. Of course, before that, Vincent gave my phone number to Mr. Murphy.

When I saw the word Duke Murphy displayed on my phone, I knew that it was President Mr. Murphy. I was a little afraid of him, so I waited for a while before answering it.

He had a good temper. He wasn’t angry because of my delay in answering the phone. His tone was as polite as last night. "Is Miss Jasmine ready? Am I going to pick you up, or do you come down yourself?"

Even through the phone, I could feel his oppressive aura. I stuttered, "No, no need. I can go down by myself. I don't need to bother you!"

Duke might have noticed the injury on my leg last night, so he asked with concern. "Is your foot okay? Why don't I go upstairs?"

"Don't..." Before I finished my words, he had hung up decisively. It seemed that he was going to come up.

I held the phone in a daze. Before I could think of how to get in touch with such a person, the doorbell rang.

I knew that it was Duke. I looked up at the door and hesitated for a moment. Finally, I stood up and opened the door.

I was indeed a little nervous, but since they had come to find me, I couldn't be too timid to open the door. Just see a house, andwould only take half a day at most.

Besides, didn't Vincent say that he wasn't interested in women last night? So what was he afraid of? Was I afraid that he would kill me if I said something wrong?

The moment I opened the door, I saw Duke 's resolute and mature face. For some reason, his heart started to panic even more. "Mr. Murphy, you're here?"

Duke smiled faintly. Seeing that I was still standing foolishly at the door and had no intention of letting him in. He said softly to me, "Are you going to go with me now, or are you going to let me in and wait for you?"

"Oh, well, please come in first?"

Even if I was ready, I couldn't block him at the door and prevent him from coming in. This wasn’t the way to treat a guest. When I realized it, I immediately turned around and made a "please" gesture to let him in.

In fact, hotels were all the same and there was nothing to visit. Duke said that he wanted to come in to alleviate the awkwardness. But in fact, he didn't know that I was afraid of him. Now that I was suddenly about  to be alone with him, I was so embarrassed that I didn't know where to put my feet.

After Duke came in, I was a little embarrassed and didn't know what to do. I had to ask him. "Are you drinking tea or coffee?"

Duke looked up at me meaningfully and suddenly asked me, "Are you very afraid of me?"

I quickly shook my head and denied. "No, I'm just not used to getting along with a big shot like you!"

Hearing this, Duke suddenly burst into laughter. He said to me humbly, "What kind of big shot am I? I just a little money, not as horrible as you think!"

He might have tried to sound humble, but I knew the fact. S City was hardly a small city like my family's. It was among first tiers and its economic ranking had even exceeded that of the big cities in B City. The housing price here was unbelievably high. Anyone ordinary would feel proud to buy a small house of 50 square meters in S City. Let along, Vincent had even claimed that more than half of the houses in S City!

If he said that he just a little money, few people in the country were really rich. Vincent's family was so rich, but he still talked to Duke politely and humbly. It could be seen that his snobbishness and status could not be underestimated.

"I don't mean that. I just don't like socializing, so I don't know how to talk to you!" As I spoke, I brought a cup of tea to Mr. Murphy Yue. I thought that at his age, he would like tea.

Duke looked down at the tea I poured and did not drink it. Instead, he stood up and said to me. "Miss Miller does not seem to like to be social. But such a girl may be the kind of virtuous wife and good mother. Vincent has a good taste!

After that, he went to the door and slightly leaned to one side, indicating me to go out with him. "Are you ready? Go with me when you are ready? I have other things to deal with in the afternoon!"

He was very anxious that he urged me to leave, so I didn't dare to delay. I picked up the bag on the table and rushed out. But my feet hadn't recovered yet, and I was a little nervous, so when I walked past Mr. Murphy, I accidentally fell into his arms.

But fortunately, I reacted quickly. I reached out my hand and held on the wall behind him. So that I leaned my body to one side and didn't actually touch him.

Duke looked down at my foot and said apologetically to me. "Your foot hasn't recovered yet? I help you out?"

"No, no, I can walk!"
