CEO Proposed to His Ex-wife 99 Times novel Chapter 262

Marshall stared at Katherine’s phone for a while and then got Kyle’s call.

It was Kyle who sent Katherine the photo via Facebook, so Marshall answered the call right away and put it on speaker.

Katherine sneered, “Did you get the answer, Kyle?”

Kyle was hesitant and was stammering. It was clear that Katherine won’t be pleased with the answer.

Katherine then repeated, “Can’t you trace back to who released the photo?”

Kyle breathed a sigh, “No, I’ve got it. The Grants exposed the photo to the media.”

Katherine suddenly chuckled, “I’d guessed it.”

Eyebrows knitted, Marshall looked stern.

Katherine then took over the phone, “Thanks a lot, Kyle. I will treat you to dinner sometime.”

Then she just hung up the phone.

Marshall marched right upstairs and went to his room directly.

He opened the drawer and found that his divorce certificate and settlement were still in it.

Marshall examined them carefully and suddenly remembered something.

Teeth grinned, Marshall felt powerless and hurriedly called Khalid who was in the study.

Khalid actually was not shocked to get Marshall’s call and thought that he was just going to discuss with him what happened on the Internet.

After picking up the phone, Khalid sounded calm, “Have you thought about what to do next? The PR Department had drafted several announcements, but they were all subpar to me. Do you want to give them a look?”

“No.” Marshall answered, “Dad, I want you to do something for me. Can you ask mom did she come over today and take photos of my divorce certificate and then release them to the media? Dad, I don’t want to ask her myself. I might sound angry. Can you do this for me?”

Khalid paused, “What did you say? Your mom did that?”

Marshall closed his eyes, “Just ask my mom did she really do that.”

Khalid immediately stood up, “Okay.”

Then he hung up the phone.

Pinching at the phone, Marshall mulled for a while and decided to go downstairs.

Katherine was sitting on the sofa with the TV on. Marshall didn’t know which program she was watching, but she seemed happy and beamed with smiles.

Marshall took a glance of Katherine and instantly felt powerless.

It looked like that she just didn’t care at all.

Marshall froze on the stair for a while and went back to his own room.

Sitting on the sofa, Katherine just couldn’t bring herself to smile anymore.

Leaning against the couch, she let out a breath slowly and became absent-minded.

If the photo was indeed released by the Grants, she actually can figure out who did it.

It looked like that Marshall didn’t have a clue about the photo.

But if Mrs. Grant was the one who got the photo, it practically meant that the whole world would get to know it soon.

So her divorce with Marshall was bound to be known by the public.

How sweet. She can finally get the freedom she longed.

Katherine then continued watching the TV half-heartedly for a while, and finally found it unbearable and shut it down.

Marshall then hurriedly went downstairs and sprinted out of the door and then got on the car.

The whole process only lasted for probably seconds.

Katherine then raised her eyebrows, “Did he just fight with the Grants?”

Well, it didn’t look like so. Though he seemed hurry, he didn’t harbor the anger that one normally would have after a big fight.

Katherine pondered for a while but still couldn’t figure it out, so she just headed upstairs to take a rest since she wouldn’t be implicated no matter how the whole thing unfolded. She was the victim in this whole accident.

While Katherine was lying on the bed, Marshall was racing the car.

Old Mrs. Grant just called that Mrs. Grant was causing a scene right now at the mansion and she didn’t know what to do.

Old Mrs. Grant had also learned about the whole thing and was furious too.

She said that Khalid went to question Mrs. Grant, but she didn’t feel that she was wrong at all and even admitted that she’d sent the photos to the Hendersons and the press. Once the news came out, Marshall and Clara would be together.

Khalid probably just realized that Mrs. Grant was actually a moron, so out of sheer anger, he wasn’t able to control himself and slapped Mrs. Grant on the face.

Khalid had been married with Mrs. Grant for near thirty years and had seldom quarreled with her, let alone went physical with her.

Mrs. Grant was always treated somewhat like a princess, and surly can’t bear being slapped, so she just went nuts and began smashing things.

She even yelled that there was no hope in life and threatened to commit suicide.

Khalid was still mad, so he didn’t even get downstairs.

So Mrs. Grant was just making a fool of herself alone in the living room.

Old Mrs. Grant just couldn’t take it anymore, so she called Marshall and wanted him to come home to handle this.

Marshall was actually pretty upset about what happened.

He knew how unreasonable Mrs. Grant can be.

She was afraid of Old Mr. Grant before, so even if she was having a fight with Khalid, she dared not to make a scene, after all, Old Mr. Grant was in the army before and looked stern.

But now that he was gone, she became unbridled.

Since it was at night, there wasn’t much traffic on the road, so Marshall got to the mansion pretty quickly.

He heard Mrs. Grant’s wailing and shouting in the living room just when he reached the main entrance.

Marshall slowly walked in and remained poker-faced.

Mrs. Grant was sitting on the sofa now and the items on the tea table were littered everywhere.

The maids dared not to tidy them up, since Mrs. Grant forbade them to do so.

Marshall stared at Mrs. Grant indifferently.

But actually, Khalid was being cold for a reason. He was tolerating her for too long a time all these years.

He didn’t think it was too much of a big deal when Mrs. Grant acted up before, since there was no big damage induced.

But human beings were absolutely smart enough to test one’s limits.

Since Khalid was constantly backing off, Mrs. Grant naturally thought that he for sure wouldn’t blame her no matter what she did.

Mrs. Grant screeched for a while and found Marshall when she turned around.

She paused and then ducked her mouth in sadness. Then she said in reddened eyes, “You are back, Marshall.”

Marshall immediately saw the clear palm print on Mrs. Grant’s left face.

He sure was saddened, but at the same time, he was angry.

Hadn’t it never occurred to her that he might be affected by those photos when she sent them to the press?

Marshall them asked, “You took all those photos?”

Mrs. Grant nodded, “I figured that your scandal with Clara would be cleared up if I exposed your divorce to the public.”

What a simple yet stupid thought.

Marshall took a long breath and sat on the sofa, “Tell me the truth. Who else did you send the photos to?”

Mrs. Grant blinked and said in a while, “I also sent it to Clara. She was also distressed after you were photographed by the paparazzi, so I went to comfort her and showed her the photos. I just wanted to tell that she wasn’t a homewrecker no matter when.”
