CEO Proposed to His Ex-wife 99 Times novel Chapter 308

With her eyes caught by those of Marshall, Katherine started to reflect on the kiss, a kiss that, somehow, gave her a sense of unfamiliarity.

Still, Katherine scowled at Marshall with hostility, and asked, "Why are you still hanging around here? Leave now."

Marshall shifted his eyes away and offered a sigh, "I'm leaving now."

Saying so, he turned around, and left Katherine's house without any hesitation.

After a while, Katherine hastened to the window and looked outside, finding that Marshall's car was not around her place.

Sure enough, he had parked his car somewhere else, and that was why Katherine failed to expect that Marshall was here in her house.

Marshall turned off the lights downstairs, closed the door and left.

Katherine, on the other side, went back to her bed, sat down and panted for a while.

The uninvited visit of Marshall really pissed her off.

In Katherine's mind, what remained unclear was the reason why he was here tonight.

'What a god damn freak!' Katherine thought to herself.

The sudden visit of Marshall had really ruined Katherine's good mood.

Scolding, she took a shower in the bathroom. Stepping out of the bathroom, she felt she was in no mood to apply any facial mask, and went to bed directly.

It was a frustrating night for her, since she had a dream — a dream of lust and flesh.

In her dream, Katherine knew clearly that she was dreaming, and that it was all caused by Marshall's kiss.

Though in her dream, she was exasperated and had tried to wake herself up from the dream, she just failed to get rid of it.

Finally, she woke up in the morning, as her dresser was calling in.

Muttering a curse at Marshall, she climbed up from the bed.

Afterwards, the dresser arrived, made her up to match her formal dress and style her hair, which, on the whole, made her look pretty charming.

With a gorgeous long red skirt worn on her body and a delicate makeup put on her face, Katherine looked into the mirror, and thought that the outfit, which added a sense of femininity to her, made her look totally different from what she always did.

She was quite satisfied with the job of the dresser.

Not long after the dresser left, Kyle phoned Katherine, and told her that he was on his way to pick her up.

Katherine hummed, "Fine, I'm here waiting for you."

After a while, Haverford Family's driver drove Kyle to Katherine's place. Seeing that Haverford Family's car was there, Kyle went out of the house and came over to it.

Kyle was conspicuously amazed by Katherine, continuously sighing for her delicate and fascinating outfit.

Katherine slightly raised her eyebrow, in a flirty way, "So, do I look pretty?"

Kyle nodded with affirmation, "Before, I thought that you were just pretty, and that's all. But today, you have really fascinated me, Kathy. You look amazing, and I have never seen you like this before! How could Marshall even bear to let you go?"

Hearing Marshall's name, Katherine goggled at Kyle, "Don't you ever mention him again!"

Awkwardly, Kyle blinked with confusion, "What's wrong, Kathy? What's wrong with him?"

Katherine snorted, got into the car and refused to give any answer.

Kyle left it behind and got into the car as well. As the driver started the car again, they set off to their destination.

The birthday party of Old Mrs. Walters was held in a continental villa located in the suburban areas that belonged to Walters Family.

When they arrived, they found that there were already mountains of cars parked outside the villa.

The main door of the villa was widely opened, and inside of the villa there were crowds of people gathering around.

Most possibly, it was a villa specially built for holding large parties and banquets, since there were no bedrooms but banquet halls and some other facilities alike inside.

Kyle led Katherine to the banquet hall first.

It was quite a big enough hall, inside of which there were varied self-service exquisite dishes served on tables.

Somehow, it reminded Katherine of the banquet she attended together with Marshall last time, which was quite alike this time.

There were many people inside the banquet hall. As Kyle and Katherine stepped in, the people inside all turned to them, gave them a simple glance, then indifferently turned back and continued busying themselves with their own affairs.

If the one who came was Marshall, it would be a totally different story: these groups of people would definitely come up and greet him with open arms.

However, the one who came was Kyle, whom these people would only avoid getting in touch with as possible as they could.

Kyle did not seemingly care about that. Having not eaten anything yet, he brought Katherine to the self-serve area and picked some desserts.

Katherine blinked, "Your father is here. Why doesn't he come and take you with him?"

Kyle gave a bite on the cake, and answered, "Well, maybe he is ashamed of standing with me."

He said so in a quite natural and plain tone, without any hesitation or abashment.

Katherine was not hungry yet, and only drank some juice.

Kyle fed himself on some dishes, and then took Katherine to the backyard.

There were many intriguing things in the backyard: magnificent rockery, a small but crystal-clear brook, and, most importantly, a swing.

Kyle took a look at the swing, and proposed, "How about you sit on that, and I give you a swing?"

Katherine looked at the swing, and answered, "Sounds good."

In fact, she had no interest in it, since such things were mainly designed for little girls, and she was already an adult now.

However, she would like to have a try this time, since she had never played on a swing before when she was a child.

Katherine gathered up her skirt, drew it down under her thigh and sat on the swing. Slowly and gently, Kyle pushed the swing and said, "I've just looked around, and found no track of Marshall. Strange, he knows the rules well, and is supposed to be here."

Katherine chuckled, "Indeed, I've just looked around for Clara as well, but I failed to find her track either. Well, maybe…"

Katherine suspended, and offered a meaningful smile.

Maybe the two were enjoying a rendezvous somewhere else, Katherine wanted to say.

However, talking about that, she once again recalled what Marshall had done to her yesterday, as well as what she dreamed of last night.

Gradually, she pulled her face, with her cheeks puffed up, "I don't want to see them anyway."

For Kyle, he was standing aside and blathering about the things of the two brother and sister in Bennett Family.

As a narrow-minded and petty young man, he would not give up until he taught them a lesson.

Katherine responded to him with several simple hums. However, a while later, Kyle suddenly fell silent.

He was just standing behind Katherine, gently pushing the swing.

Katherine asked, "What's wrong, Kyle? Why do you stop?"

Kyle hummed, "Nothing, I just don’t want to talk about the two idiots anymore. It makes me sick."

Indeed, murmuring about the things of the two would do nothing good to him.

Katherine exhaled, "For me, I think a banquet like this is nothing more than gathering a bulk of unfamiliar people around to dine together. To celebrate the one's birthday only with his or her own family will be much better, do you agree?"

Kyle offered a smile, hummed to agree and then remained silent.

Siting on the swing and resting her face against the rope, Katherine looked at the people passing by and became talkative either.

With so many waiters walking by, it would be a little inconvenient and awkward for them to have any private talk.

There were still many people walking inside the hall from the main door, and the atmosphere became increasingly abustle and astir.

Long before, when Katherine was still living in the village of her home town, she was quite keen on such a lively atmosphere.

However, things became different after she married Marshall. In her hometown, people gathered around purely for celebration and joy, while over here, people gathered around merely because they got too much money to spend.

After a while, at the moment when Katherine was about to get down from the swing, she heard the voice of Clara.

Clara was coming over to her from the banquet hall.

Coming up to Katherine, Clara greeted, "Hi, it's nice to meet you guys here, Marshall and Miss. Jordan."

Katherine was stunned for a second, and suddenly, her words seemed to remind Katherine of something.

She turned around in haste, and astonishingly found that the one who was standing behind, was not Kyle.

It was Marshall, with one of his hands in his pocket and the other grabbed the rope.

Katherine frowned, "Marshall?"

At the next moment, people around all turned to them, as they were all attracted by the loud greeting of Clara.
