Ethan walked to the door of the bedroom. The door was half-closed, and there was no one inside when he pushed the door open. 

 As he walked into the bedroom and closed the door, he could vaguely hear the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.

Ethan walked to the bathroom door and saw Annetta scattering rose petals in a filled bathtub. When she heard him, she turned her head and said happily, "Ethan! You're here! I have prepared some warm water for you to take a nice bath!"

The little girl was brimming with a smile, and her eyes were sparkling when she turned around.

Ethan did not say anything as he hugged her from behind.

The little girl who was scattering petals felt a strange sense of loneliness around the man. She froze for a moment before asking softly, "Ethan, what's wrong?"

"Why are you suddenly so nice to me?" The man's low voice came from behind her. 

Annetta's body stiffened instantly. She wondered why he had suddenly asked such a question. "Had he discovered something?" She thought. "What did Bettina say to him?"

Annetta realized that even though she did not care about what Bettina did in this life, Bettina still had an imperceptible influence on her. 

Annetta quickly dismissed this idea. Bettina had already been disappointed a few times in this life. According to her previous life's understanding of her, this woman could no longer believe that leaking information to Ethan would have any effect on Annetta.

Annetta would not have been scared if it weren't for Bettina. She set down the flower basket, placed her slender white hands in Ethan's, and softly said, "I realised today just how hard you work every day. You've got to be exhausted. In the past, I was ignorant and always opposed you..."

Annetta paused for a moment at this point. "I hope there's still time and that you and I didn't miss out on each other," she said again, her voice slightly choked.

After Annetta finished speaking, she felt that the hand around her waist had tightened a little.

 She could feel the man's breath behind her ear, and Annetta was unsure if her words had moved the man.

Although she had said some things to gain his favour, she had said them all sincerely and from the bottom of her heart. Since her rebirth, she had decided that Ethan was the one for her in this life, and she wanted to love him with all her heart and soul.

"Ethan, why don't you take your bath?" Annetta said, "I've sprinkled some soothing essential oil in the warm water. You'll feel very comfortable when you're soaking in the bath."

"Okay." The man's low voice was soft and doting. "Let's bathe together."

Upon receiving the man's invitation, Annetta blushed. She nodded obediently and said, "Alright, Ethan."

Although Annetta was a 25-year-old woman at heart, she was still very uncomfortable.

Annetta felt that the heat all over her body was hotter than the warm water in the bath, especially when she didn't dare to move at all.

Annetta felt even hotter than before she entered the bath as if she had a fever. She was not only boiling but also limp and powerless.

She had intended to please the man by preparing a bath for him, but the man ended up pleasing her instead. He wrapped a towel around her and carried her out of the bath. Then he laid her on the bed and made love to her until the wee hours of the morning.

Annetta struggled out of bed in the middle of the night and saw the man sleeping soundly next to her.
