Come back to Me, My Ex-Wife novel Chapter 24

The morning of the weekend.

Margery was in the office with Ethan and Bonnie working on the handbill the kindergarten assigned. Just as they were about to paint with the pens in their hands, the door was pushed open….

Zola walked in. she looked happy and excited, "Margery, good news! A powerful man just came to our hospital! The most noble and powerful man in H City! Oh my God! He is so handsome! I've only seen him in the financial press before. I have never thought I can see him face to face today. I decided to buy a lottery ticket after work. He will definitely bless me to win five million! Besides, it is said that the beautiful girl with him is the first lady in H City. She is so elegant...."

Zola's eyes were shining with excitement. She couldn't stop talking. But Margery had put down the pen in her hand and stood up, smiling coldly.

She knew that with Melvin's self-destructive publicity and agitation, and Norma's unconscious push, Golden and Vivian would definitely come here.

But she didn't expect that they would come so quickly.

It seemed that Vivian couldn't wait any longer.

"Zola, please look after Ethan and Bonnie for me. I will go to receive them!"

Margery walked out of the office with a stack of medical records in her hand. She looked calm, but her heart was beating fast.

Since Golden and Vivian had come here, she would fix them well.

Soon, Margery walked through the quiet corridor to the end of the fourth floor, pushed open the door of the VIP reception room and walked in. She saw Vivian's soft face first. Vivian's gaze looked gentle but there was a hidden sharpness in her eyes, "You are the doctor of this hospital?"

"Yes, I'm Margery!"

Noticing Vivian's vague hostility, Margery raised her eyebrows and smiled lightly, raised the medical record in her hand, and said with irony, "Ms. Martin? Since you have chosen us, please don't doubt my professionalism! If you question my ability because of my face, it's okay. Please get out here. Goodbye."

"You...."

Vivian's face turned ashen with outrage. But when she glanced at the man standing at the floor of the window slowly turn around, she quickly put on a gentle smile and said, "Golden, since Dr. Byrne is so confident, then let she cure you okay?"

Feeling the eagerness and softness in Vivian's eyes, Golden turned sideways and nodded blandly. He looked up at Margery and then smiled elegantly, "Anyone can talk big. But not everyone can do what they said. What's your guarantee that you can do it?"

Margery had already predicted that he would question her ability.

After she closed the medical record and clenched her fingers, she took a deep breath and suppressed the hatred that was surging in her heart. She looked up at him calmly, lowered her voice, and asked with a faint smile, "What kind of guarantee does Mr. Barrett want?"

She was smiling, but the coldness in the depths of her eyes passed by in a flash.

Golden, who was perceptive, immediately sensed it and narrowed his eyes, sizing up the woman in front of him, whom he had just met several times.

Her skin was fair and her features were exquisite. She had fine eyebrows and red lips, which made her charming and unforgettable.

This beautiful face was completely different from the one in his memory. They had no similarity at all. But Golden had a strange familiarity with Margery's expression when she behaved politely but said harsh words just now.

Golden glanced at her with contemplative interest and spoke leisurely, "If the treatment does not work well, this hospital, which is not worthy of its name, has no need to exist at all."

Margery was shocked. Golden was threatening her with her hospital.

Five years had passed. This bastard, who should have gone to hell a long time ago, was still ruthless to her as before.

She clutched the medical records in her hand, looked at the man with a cold face, and suddenly smiled lightly, "OK. It's a deal."

As soon as she said this, Margery saw the man reaching towards her and said one word succinctly, "Pen."

Why did he need a pen?

Margery didn't react for a moment and looked at him in a daze. Her red lips slightly opened and her charming eyes also slightly widened.

Her beauty moved Golden and let him unable to forget her.

Margery seemed to be shrouded in a light mist and was like a difficult mystery, which constantly attracted Golden's attention.

Vivian stood behind Golden. When she saw him patiently communicate with the female doctor who was so beautiful that she was ashamed of herself, her face became gloomier.

She tried to take over the conversation several times. But strangely enough, the two seemed to form a circle of their own, excluding her from it, so that she could not find the opportunity to intervene. Vivian could not help but feel indescribably upset and flustered.

Now, seeing that the beautiful female doctor stared blankly at Golden and was seductive, Vivian felt unhappy and secretly stepped forward. She squeezed Margery away, quickly brought out a pen from her bag, and gently handed it to Golden. Vivian looked up at Golden softly, saying, "Golden, you mean we will sign a contract now and confirm to be treated in this hospital?"

Golden nodded, narrowed his eyes to look at Margery who was still in a daze, and smiled while remembering the feeling of desire in her hand that night, "Where is the contract?"

Hearing the word "contract", Margery finally understood. She walked to the desk and found a contract. Looking at the blank column of expenses, she secretly gritted her teeth and filled in three million. Then she turned around and calmly handed it to Golden, saying lightly, "This price is just the cost of early detection. If the effect is confirmed later, Mr. Barrett needs to pay another three million. If there are no objections, you can sign."

Vivian frowned, "Six million? It's expensive."

"A mere six million is just a drop in the bucket for Mr. Barrett."

Margery chuckled. Thinking of that Golden once gave Pansy 10 million for breakup, but had never paid half a penny for Andrew's medical bills, she hated him more inside. But she smiled more brightly, "Mr. Barrett does not need money, but needs stimulation. I promise you will definitely get the unforgettable stimulation."

Her last words made Vivian change her face. She immediately turned to Golden. Seeing that Golden remained calm and was signing the contract with his head lowered, she heaved a sigh of relief. Then, she turned to look at Margery sharply, "Dr. Byrne, how are you going to treat him?"
