Contract Marriage: My Sweet Bossy Wife novel Chapter 40

“Juliette, my adorable princess, I swear to God I will be the knight guarding on your side forever.”

Though both of them still appeared the same as usual, what happened just now still greatly impacted on their hearts, which they both had been clearly aware.

“In the presence of God, I vow to love and cherish you so long as we both shall live.”Preston continued emotionlessly with his blank eyes. Obviously, he was still greatly affected.

Hearing that he was making vow different from the line, Juliette was distraught. She felt like soberness had evaded her and thus she actually forgot the line of vow that had been set.

To close the process as soon as possible, she simply repeated Preston’s vow while the guests were watching.

With a livid face, Preston took out a ring box from his pocket. When he just opened it, he heard a text notice sounding from his phone.

Juliette soon noticed that he looked a bit weird after checking the text. So she hurried to grab the ring from the box and put it on.

What happened at this moment totally stunned the guests. They couldn’t help wondering if it signaled a failed wedding between the two.

“Juliette, could you please greet the guests first? I gotta leave for a while. I will be back to pay the bill.” Preston then left without hesitation and rushed over to Jessica. His expression seemed horrible.

Juliette felt like being shocked by a bolt from the blue. When she finally managed to collect herself, she saw Preston leaving with his hand grabbing on Jessica’s.

“Preston, please don’t leave me! I am your wife!” she hurried to stride over. However, she could only scurry because of the tight party dress she was wearing.

Scurrying on her high heels, she suddenly stumbled down on the lawn because of the slippery dirt.

While the long end of her dress happened to hook to the rack for roses next to her, the neckline was ripped off deep to her chest because of the stumble.

The silent atmosphere soon blew up with noise because of that embarrassing accident. Then it turned to be a farce mixed with gossips, snicker and snap sound of cameras.

“Hey, stop! Don’t post it online! No!” Aminah was the first to react. The only thing came to her hand was the tablecloth clad beneath the buffet. She dragged it off hard to cover Juliette. Thus, all the food and drinks toppled down on the ground.

Both Kevin and Aminah tried their best to dissuade others to post the pictures online. But it was too late.

Juliette was burning with hatred. She believed it must be Jessica who conspired it to mess up the banquet.

But what exactly Preston was so surprised about?

“You’d better tell me everything! What’s going on with that picture claimed to be ‘authorized’?”

Preston grabbed her arm to take her to a stream nearby. His face turned livid while his voice was trembling.

“What you saw is what you got. Mr. Saunders, can’t you read on your own?” Jessica sneered.

“You must have fabricated it because you have conspired with an expert working there! I was there at that moment! You…you were just having sex right there! You can’t fool me!” Preston clenched his fists, sweating nervously.

While the picture she saw Preston was exactly part of the gifts for his wedding.

“But that bastard did rape you! You…”

“Shut up!” Jessica huffed to stop him.

“Both you and Juliette are shameless and brazen! But I never! Look at you, don’t you even notice how degenerate you have become?”

“I have been doing the right thing! I was left no choice back then if I needed to be the savior! You actually believe what Juliette has said to alienate us? Serious?”

Jessica replied with a mocking sneer when hearing that.

“I know…I know I was a jerk! I was fooled by Juliette and hurt you before I found out the truth. And I know about how violent the war between you and Juliette, including her mom Aminah. I am willing to do anything as you wish to retaliate against them as long as you promise to marry me.” In order to show his determination, Preston put on his hand to pledge.

“So that’s your explanation for why you chose to ruin me back then? So ridiculous!” Jessica had been discerning enough to tell the lies among his words.

“It’s all my fault! I know I am a jerk! But I swear to God I will love you from the bottom of my heart forever! And you will always be my only beloved one!” his voice trembled with agitation greatly growing.

But as Jessica had expected, Preston still chose to cover up the evil doings Juliette had ever committed, trying to fudge it.

And he never explained why he listened to Juliette when she was driving a wedge between him and Jessica back then.

“Preston, you have been fooling yourself. You never love anybody but only yourself! If you do love me, you wouldn’t have been convinced by the lie from Juliette for so many years! What you’ve done really disgusts me! Don’t ever talk to me again!” Jessica showed no tolerance to fraud.

“Jessica, why are you trying to deny me? I know you still remain feelings for me! You have tried so hard to scuttle my plans again and again not only because you hate Juliette, but you are aware that I still care about you and I won’t let it go. That’s why you have been trying to embarrass me.” His eyes went bloodshot. He did all he could to hold back his burning emotion. He could never bear to witness the marriage between Jessica and another guy. Nor could he bear to hurt her once again.

“I swear this is the last time we meet each other for the rest of my life!” Jessica huffed coldly.

“Jessica…are you leaving me alone…For real?” Preston started to sob.

“God will be watching! No one has ever pushed you to make a choice. Just let it go. It’s over.” After that, Jessica walked away from the stream.
