Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 68

"Why should we believe you?"

The head Cannibal stepped forward. The rest of the Cannibals were joining the circle one after the other until they had all gathered.

"You think I would be here to talk to you fools if I have no reason?"

The wolf snapped at the head.

"You want to choose your words. I'm sure you know that you are outnumbered hundred to one."

The wolf did what you would call a scoff, turning her waist to the side. The mild wind slowly gliding across her big body, creating beautiful waves in her furs.

"Day in day out, if we were to contend, I'd always rip you apart. I guess you should be the one who need to be choosey with words. You don't want to be disgraced in groups."

"Give me the permission to break his limbs!!!"

One of the Cannibals pleaded with the head Cannibal. The head Cannibal took the fellow in his wild gaze. He had every reason to allow him to teach the wolf some manners but he knew what he might be risking.

"Are you certain Lugal sent you?"

"Do not believe --"

The head Cannibal glared at one of the Cannibals who had wanted to interrupt. The wolf tossed her head up. Many of the Cannibals were mad at that gesture. But the head Cannibal wouldn't allow them to exercise their rage.

"I'm not sure why that fool took you all as his subjects. I'd preferred Elves to y'all. Any day and everyday."

"What did you call our Lugal? A what???"

The head Cannibal's face was fiery and brows cocking up.

~ uh-huh ~

The wolf took the warning. That was what he should had done before now. She didn't have to worry a lot. There was still time.

~ follow me dumbasses ~

She borrowed a word from Damien's cuss dictionary. She turned away from the Cannibal who was about to lunge at her. Out of the village she ran.

"After her!!!"

The head Cannibal ordered, holding firm his own stance. He watched half of the group pursue the wolf.

"Enough!!!"

He barked at the second half who wanted to follow suit.

"Who do we leave our territory to if we all follow her?"

One of the Cannibals didn't quite agree with the head,

"It's the honor and dignity of the Lugal at stake here. Our Lugal. We've sworn to give our lives for him. What is a village if we can't protect the interest of our Lugal!!!"

The Cannibal who had just spoken was of a bigger built, stoic and firm, with a death stare stalking his already tough face.

The shortest of the Cannibals was about 6"4. Do not imagine what the tallest would look like. There was no tallest. They had prolly the same heights. Few inches drew the margin.

"You shall stay back at my words. The half and myself will represent the interest of the Lugal."

He took a pause.

"Now if I may."

The Cannibal zoomed out of the village. The rest couldn't follow him. But the stubborn one seemed to want to give it all it takes.

The wolf jumped over the fence of the castle, running like a mad dog towards the castle. The Cannibals who were panting and making weird sequences of noise jumped after and followed her in close pace.

The wolf ran into the castle and the Cannibals followed her. The girls scattered at once. Those who were tearing up couldn't keep up the mood. The swift switch between gloom and fear was really astounding.

"What's this?"

"Why did they run inside?"

"Are they at war?"

Immediately the Cannibals saw Damien lying on the foam board, they ran to his side and knelt beside him, bowing repeatedly. But none of them dared to touch his body.

"He asks that you take him to your village."

The wolf explained to the Cannibals. The girls had no idea that a conversation was going on between the Cannibals and the wolf.

"We can't. We can't carry him. We can't touch him. It's forbidden. He's a god to us. Our corrupted flesh must not touch his sacred body."

~ these fools. ~

"He knows that of course, yet he called for y'all. Shouldn't you be glad and do as instructed instead of laying dumb complaints?"

The wolf snapped at them.

"It breaks our heart to see him in this state, but we can't touch him. I wish we could."

~ you better talk to these fools yourself. ~

Der gave up, telapathing with Damien.

TRY TO EXPLAIN TO THEM, YOU DUMBASS. HOW CAN I TALK IN THIS SITUATION? THE GIRLS WILL FIND OUT. ALSO, I CAN'T STAY HERE FOR NOW. TRY TO UNDERSTAND.

The wolf walked closer to the Cannibals.

"Try to understand, he really want you to do this for him."

The Cannibals wouldn't be talked into it.

"What is the matter?"

The head Cannibal got there point in time. The Cannibals turned to him.

"She says that Lugal instructed that we carry him to our territory."

"Carry?"

The head couldn't relate to their words. He walked briskly inside. His eyes widened when he saw Damien. He dropped on his knees and crawled to where he Damien was laid.

"Damien is so influential."

One of the girls commented.

"How do we know that you speak the truth?"

The head turned to the wolf.

"Don't give me that bullshit again. Shouldn't you and your dumb fellows be apologizing to me right now? Instead you are repeating the dumb question."

The head Cannibal looked away from the wolf. It was strange that he didn't take an offense in the Wolf's manner. He must respect the Lugal so much.

"Do not tell me that you believe her."

One of the Cannibals suspected the head.

"Would you be mute for a while? What else is there not to see?"

The head Cannibal stood tall on his feet.

"We have no choice but to do what the wild dog has said."

~ me, wild dog? these bastards! ~

Der could only growl. Nothing more.

"You mean, the Viatuh rite?"

One of the Cannibals called at the head who shook his head slowly.

WHAT A WEIRD NAME.

~ you can say that again. king of weirdos ~

Der took out her rage on Damien.

The head Cannibal suddenly spread his arms and started to chant in Sumerian. The rest of the Cannibals jumped on their feet and started to encircle him, doing strange movements and dance steps.

The atmosphere built gradually and gradually till the winds outside found their ways into the castle and a strange sequence of actions was enthroned. Such actions which were capable of sending chills down the spines of a normal human.

The girls were so scared that they held unto each other. Who would had thought that the barbaric Cannibals also had such knowledge of spiritualism.

When the atmosphere was built to its climax, the atlas dropped and everything suddenly went back to normal. As though nothing happened in the first place.

"What was that?"

Mira muttered in fear.

The head Cannibal signalled and about eight of the Cannibals went on their knees, four on the right, four on the left, little spaces in between each of the four on each row. Then a Cannibal each standing beside the eight who were kneeling. The kneeling Cannibals were on their four like the wolf.

The head gave another signal and six Cannibals positioned themselves beside Damien. Two by his head, two by his feet. Two by the side.

He nodded at the six after saying some strange words. At the end of the words, the six bent forward, heads thrown up, and lifted Damien gently.

They walked to those standing beside the kneeling eight. They handed Damien to them. They also tossed their heads up. They collected Damien and put him on the back of the eight who were kneeling on their four.

The head Cannibal whistled and the eight began to crawl out of the castle. Damien was on their backs.

"Woah... who has a better definition of barbaric."

Laurette exclaimed.

"Where are they taking him. Where are they taking him?"

Evelyn ran towards the Cannibals.

"Bring back our Damien."

She started to cry again. The Cannibals who were standing beside the eight scared her from getting closer. She flinched.

The eight crawled out of the castle towards the gate of the fence.

"Bring him back please!!!"

Evelyn called on top of her voice.

Damien could hear everything. He could also feel himself on some soft stuff. His back felt warm too. He could feel. But as much as he wanted to open his eyes, he couldn't. Not because he was scared, but he just couldn't. He had no idea what the system was doing to his body. Only his mind was active. He heard no idea why the system took his joke seriously.

"Let's follow them."

He heard one of the girls call. He could tell who it was. But he had enough to worry about. He would figure it out when he gets to the territory of the Cannibals.

How to be alive again.
