Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 75

"You crazy bitch, how could you do that to me? After all I did for you, how could you take the bet so seriously? How could, you ugly wench!!!"

Damien yelled, standing before her. Claire walked through him as though his body was some door.

"Huh?"

For a moment, Damien forgot that he couldn't be seen by the girls. He had been blinded by his rage, so much that his sense of judgement had been clouded.

Instead of giving up, he turned and walked up to catch up with her. Even though he knew that she couldn't see him, let alone hear his voice.

"I should be beat you to a pulp you crazy bitch!!! How dare you!!!"

He grunted getting to her,

"Why can't this dumb system at least give me a small chance... probably a three seconds use of my body. I want to beat the hell out of this bitch!!!"

He shouted on top of his voice. Really? Could he shout? He wish!

"Oh jungle wit."

He recalled that that was the only feature which was at his disposal. He brought up the system window and clicked on the jungle wits.

[Ping! Jungle Wits: Find a predator, scare her with it.]

"That's quite a job. How am I suppose to find a predator when other skills like the wild Hunter is disabled?"

He turned away from Claire who didn't for once look at her back. He could tell by the direction she was taking that she was headed to the territory of the Cannibals.

He was disappointed, he couldn't find any predator which he could use. He was angered also. He felt really mad that he couldn't help himself when he needed it the most. The trauma of his past seemed to be trying so hard to catch up with him. Or at least, he was scared that his trauma would be revived.

"Where's she going alone though?"

Did he give up on seeking out a predator? It was quite a remote question to find an answer to.

He kept on following her, walking behind her. His mind was busy to be checking out her shapes and all. He was vulnerable and somewhat helpless. That was how he felt about himself at that moment.

When Claire arrived at the fence of the Cannibal's territory, she halted quite a distance away.

"What is she doing here alone?"

Damien traced her eyes to the group of Cannibals guiding the fallen fences. He observed the corner of her eyes. They seemed especially dark. Darker than he'd ever seen them.

"Why is she looking that way?"

That was all he could. Ask questions and wonder.

"Like she cares about me. Stop pretending bitch and go and celebrate. Didn't you want me dead in the first place? You earned your goal! Go enjoy the fruit of your labour when it's still ripe. Cos I bet with you, it'll be sour in three days' time!"

Damien knew that he was talking too much. He felt mad at himself that he was slowly becoming the girls. Yes! Wasn't that what the girls would do? Bicker and bicker, getting nothing done in reality. All talk no action.

"Now what, bitch? What's she looking for?"

Claire had walked off that position to her left. She picked a fat log which wasn't too heavy. She brought out a knife from her side. Damien's eyes widened.

"Huh? What's that? Isn't that my ---"

Damien quickly checked his side for his hunting knife but couldn't find it. He rushed to her to kick her,

"You bitch, when did you get my knife? Who told you to take it?"

He kicked the air. He chuckled wryly.

"This wench is more scary than I thought. I really underestimated her. Who could believe that she had stolen my hunting knife to kill me with it if the arrow didn't get the work done?"

Damien didn't care that he was thinking too much. Whatever his mind tossed at him was what he processed and chewed on passionately. Yes! That was the saga of a vulnerable youth!

"I'll make sure that I pay you back. I'll kill you as soon as I have the chance. I can't believe that I was swept off my feet thinking that you have a crush on me."

As soon as Claire finished sharpening one of the ends of the log, she got back on her feet.

"You bastards! You would wish that you weren't born."

She promised before stomping towards them.

"What's with this bitch? What's she talking about?"

Damien sneered. He turned in the direction, watching her go.

The Cannibals who had hardly paid any attention to her since she arrived there, seemed interested now. She had the peg poised and was walking determinedly towards them. Face sans emotions, eyes sans love. She looked scary. Really scary.

"Let me pass!!! I'm not going to repeat myself. Let me pass right now!!!"

She stopped directly at the front of the Cannibals who didn't take her quite seriously.

"Fuck you all!!!"

She looked from one Cannibal to another. She knew that she couldn't take all of them at a time.

She observed again for the last. Her gaze fell upon one who looked older than the rest.

"Fuck this."

She ran towards that man, screaming on top of her voice as she charged. She made to drive the peg through the stomach of the Cannibal, but the latter was too swift for her. He dodged then grabbed the peg, made a pieces of it in the blink of an eye, picked up Claire and hurled her away into the woods.

"Nooo..."

Damien couldn't hold unto his rage when he saw how ruthlessly the Cannibals had acted, Claire flying in the air till she dropped on her side, in pain. His heart crumbled.

Probably he didn't mean any of those words he'd said earlier. Or maybe not all.

"You dumbasses!!!"

He ran towards the Cannibal who had acted so inhumanely.

"How dare you do that. I'll punish you, you bastard!!!"

Could someone please remind him that no one could hear him? No no need, he already figured that out.

He turned away from the Cannibal who didn't have a ray of regret travel across his face let alone remorse.

He rushed to Claire and knelt beside her,

"Are you alright? Are you fine? Where does it hurt?"

Even though he knew that he couldn't help her. Even though he knew too well that she couldn't hear him, yet he felt the need to sympathize.

"Ow, that hurts. These bastards!!!"

She tried to get up on her feet but dropped down again. Damien reached his arms out quickly to stop her from falling on that side again, but he wished!

"I know right."

Damien dropped on his butts, seating on the cold and damp earth.

"But why are you doing this? Why are you alone? You are no match for these Cannibals! They'll hurt you more. Your mates are back at the castle, what do you think you are doing?"

As though she heard him, Claire suddenly bursted out crying.

"Huh?"

Damien wasn't only stupefied, but shocked.

"Does she cry?"

Even though that wasn't the right question, Damien couldn't tame the curious mind.

"Here am I thinking she was carved out of Everest."

She sniffled, trying not to be loud. She clutched her left palm to her mouth, muffling the sound as she made an ocean of her eyes.

For a fact, Damien was moved. He had no idea why. Wasn't he the same person who had promised to disconnect from her? Now what? Oh, feelings like these are naturally to every human?

"Damien... Damien..."

She called softly, her hand still covering her mouth.

"What! Did she just call my name? Did I hear my name?"

Damien didn't know what to believe.

"Remove your hand from your mouth and repeat those words."

Again, like she heard him, she slowly dropped her wet palm from her mouth.

"Damien... you fool..."

She sniffed.

"Huh? This bitch. Me, a fool? How dare you? Why was I even worried ab--"

"How could you die so easily...? Weren't you strong? Weren't you the same Damien who could build a castle out of ruins and make this crazy island feel like home?"

He should be offended that she cut him short but he couldn't. How could he when he heard more than enough to process.

"You fool... how dare you play a prank on us all? How dare you make us think you are dead? How dare you plot with these beasts to fake your death... is that how terrible we are to you?"

She resumed crying again. Damien didn't know what to feel. He just stared blankly at her. He wished he could choose what to feel. But why was it that all he could do was wish?

"Better come back to us... else I won't stop until I see you."

Suddenly there came a movement in the woods behind her.

"Claire... Claire... where are you?"

When she heard the voice, she quickly sat up. She cleaned her face and touched her cheeks to soften it. She pursed her lips and blinked her eyes severally. She got up on her feet.

"There you are."

Damien looked away from Claire to the owner of the voice.

"Jada?"

Jada got to Claire.

"Why did you do that? You left me lost in the woods so you could come here all alone? Isn't that selfish? What were you able to gain doing that? Were you able to see him?"

Claire didn't respond. She was wearing her usual indifferent face. She walked away into the woods. Obviously, headed towards the castle.

"I know what you are doing. Though I don't know why though."

Clare halted and Jada caught up with her. Jada continued,

"We all know that you don't like him, let alone love him. He's like a nightmare to you. I don't too, I was just kissing up to him so he could be favorable to me."

Damien's eyes widened.

"Wow... this bitch!"

He wished he could punch Jada! Just a wish.

"Since we are in the same boat, you can talk to me. What's your plan? You know, I was just wondering that we should be celebrating now that he's gone. Isn't it a good thing?"

Jada chuckled,

"You see, the reason I followed you was to see what you are up to. I thought you have a special place where you have prepared to celebrate the death of that loser."

"Me a loser? Oh my God... I want to kill her."

Damien gritted his teeth. Claire didn't say a word, she resumed walking. This time, she didn't stop no matter what Jada said.

"What's the matter with her? What's with the strange silence. That's unlike her."

Jada paused to think for a while. Then she ran to catch up.

"Wait for me. You're making me run."

Damien followed them at close proximity. The girls arrived at the castle. A fog of darkness swept across the woods, choking the strands of light left.

The seven girls were standing at the front of the rice field as Claire pushed the gate open and Jada followed.

Claire didn't say anything, she walked as though she didn't see them. She almost walked past them when Allison called,

"Hey, change your route."

Claire halted, taking Allison in her curious gaze.

"Where do you think you are going? You belong with the Cannibals! You are a monster, you should live with them! How can you even bring yourself to returning to this castle after you literally wanted the person who built it dead?"

"Killed him!!!"

Someone added.

Tendzel continued from where Allison stopped,

"We should send you into the woods but that would be terrible. We can't end up being a beast like you. Until we retrieve the body of Damien, you'll stay in the other house."

"Vamoose!!!"

Few of the girls yelled at her and Claire turned away from them, heading towards the safehouse.

"Don't do that to her. She's hurt already. Treat her. Postpone her punishment."

Damien spoke as though they could hear him.

"I'll go with her."

Everyone turned to the owner of the voice. Even Damien.

Ayisha.
