Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 82

"No, no way. No way. That didn't happen. It's not possible."

Claire stopped running when she was close enough to the Castle. She gulped, shaking her head violently.

"No, that doesn't make any sense. It wasn't him. It couldn't be him."

She turned to her back and observed closely to figure out whether or not she was being chased. When she was certain that there was nothing, she took a deep breath.

"Damien? No, no way. I must be seeing things."

"What happened to Damien?"

An assertive yet demanding voice came from behind. She flinched.

"Why are you so scared? Did something happen... to Damien?"

Ayisha moved closer to Claire who looked another way, avoiding an eye contact.

"Talk to me."

Claire rolled her eyes, made a weird noise deep in her throttle and walked past Ayisha, almost knocking her off.

"I know you love him."

Claire's feet became glued to the earth when those hasty yet violent words hit her. Ayisha retained her position, but her words wanted to stroll,

"You are not good at hiding it."

Claire turned to her this time. She was going to say a thing but Ayisha denied her,

"I know you regret shooting the arrow. You wanted to see his reflex. You didn't want him dead. You wanted him to prove himself perceptive and smooth before the girls. That's why you shot the arrow. So when he catches it, the girls would respect him more."

Claire shook her head,

"Now I understand why you are a writer. You must have a lot of imaginations."

She scoffed,

"But too bad, you can't play the words game with me. I'm smarter than you can ever think, even though I'm a model and not a best selling steamy novels writer."

There was more sarcasm at the end of the sentence than she gave credit for.

"I'm so glad that he is gone. Now I can rest. I don't have any rivals here anymore. Y'all are too little for me. Y'all will be wrapped around my fingers in no time and I'll be the queen of this Island! And all of you will bow to me, I'll make sure of that."

She wanted to turn away at once, but it seemed as though she still had few things to say.

"So, worry about what next would hit y'all. Quit worrying about what you think you know. Go get ready for the nightmare of Claire. At least till we find a ship that will take us away."

She turned to leave.

"You've been searching around for his corpse, body I mean.. I know that his body is no longer in the village of the Cannibal."

Ayisha attacked her again. The blow this time was way too strong for Claire to ignore. So, she halted... involuntarily?

"Also, I see that you've been leaving the castle momentarily into the woods to a particular place where I figure out to be where his body is."

Ayisha was walking closer to her now.

"I further got a grip of this when I saw you running her and muttering his name. Though I have no idea what this is about, yet I know that you saw something rather strange. Perhaps he's still alive."

Ayisha walked to stand at her front.

"I'm not saying that you are doing something terrible. You have every right to be worried about him, like many of the girls are."

She sighed, licking her lips. She looked away from Claire to a bunny running around the foot of the tiny trunk of a tall tree.

Back to Claire,

"What am I saying is that you don't have to be hard on yourself. Let yourself go with the emotions. The more you deny it, the hurt you'll get. And I know the feeling it gives when you see him with another girl. To think that acting this way means that you have ego is quite childish."

Ayisha scoffed.

"There's a difference between ignoring your emotions and pretending to. Sorry Claire, you're doing the latter... And that means lying to yourself over and over again."

She heaved a sigh.

"I wish you good luck with the nightmare and stuff. But always know that you'll always have a rival... whether in love or gaining control here."

"Be good."

Ayisha chuckled wryly and walked away.

"That wench!!! What a load of bullshit!"

Claire bit the words angrily, but Ayisha pretended not to hear. That got the former really angry. She followed Ayisha.

"Stop there you bitch! I can't love him! There is no way the only daughter of one of the richest men of the world would fall for such a loser who got a shady chance at change!! I can't fall for him."

"I can't!!!"

You would think she would shit her pants at the way she screamed the last words. Ayisha didn't for once stop.

"I don't think I have anything to worry about."

Damien looked away from the two girls who were walking away. He had been there all along, standing so close to the girls. But they couldn't see him.

Taking you back five minutes earlier.

[Ping! Trial mode expired. Host has reclaimed his body and pending task has resumed. All skills available to be unlocked and points to be exchanged.]

[Ping! Reward for the trial mode tasks: Host gets one reward. Host can now switch from reality to illusion.]

[Ping! System simplification: Host can choose to be either visible or invisible to all. Note: all skills and features would be active in either state.]

After the system window had popped up and he had read all that, he had switched to invisible mood and used the wind speed to catch up with Claire in the woods.

He had been worried that he'd been seen by her. But when Ayisha had approached and set her own game rolling, then he realized that he didn't have much thing to worry about?

Bringing you back to the present.

He took a last glance at the girls who had been swallowed by the heights of the woods. He switched to the visible mode and began to head back slowly towards the watchtower.

"Why should I be worried?"

"So what if she saw me?"

"Instead of running away from them, why can't I give them some sort of nightmare."

"Appear to them momentarily by night and make it seem as though they are dreaming about me."

He heard a movement behind him. He looked. It was just bunny. He wasn't scared anymore.

"It feels really good to be powerful again. Nothing can scare me. Why should I be scared of being caught by the girls?"

He had gotten close enough to the watchtower.

"No, I can't be careless. I need to be careful. Even though I don't want to show myself to them yet, I have to be careful."

"I have to get all the things done first before returning to them. They are a great deal of distraction!"

"I have to visit the mountain, find out why I've been drawn to it, steal a yacht, stack all the statues of gold away, find out the distance between this island and Las Vegas, figure out how much a bar of red gold is cost, make a lot of investments in Vegas while they think I'm still here, then come back and show myself to the girls, spend few weeks of enjoyments, then when I return with them back to Vegas, they wouldn't know that the poor loser is already a big deal... not only in the jungle but in the fucking wild world... a jungle of politics and fame!"

Suddenly, a realization dawned on him.

"Fuck!!! That means no sex! Oh shit... I haven't fucked all the girls yet."

He bit his lips slowly,

"I wish there's a way to convince one of the girls... maybe Evelyn and have her with me... serving me the service hot and clear."

He smirked evily at the thought. For one reason or the other, he waited a bit after he made the wish. But he waited in vain. Probably he thought the system was a wish-granting machine or genie.

"Never mind. I'll find my way. With sex, I'll surely find a way."

He walked towards the foot of the tree. Then he recalled that he didn't have time for that yet. He had something else in mind.

"Let's go see that mountain now."

He ran to the hut which was not far from the tree. He entered in and got his surfboard. Suddenly, he was reminded of something.

"Huh? Der. The fuck! Why am I just remembering about her now!"

He looked around the room as though the wolf was a tiny object.

"How come I didn't think of her for the past three days of trial mode?"

"Could this system be fucking with me?"

"Wait."

Another realization.

"Why did I remember everyone except her...? Could it be... no, no way."

He chuckled, shaking his head.

"How could she be related to the system. How dumb can I be."

He scoffed and walked out with the surfboard.

"When she's done with the hide and seek, she'd come find me. That wench! I bet she didn't care whether or not I died! I'll beat the hell out of her."

"Let's do this."

He activated the speed mode and zoom! He was at the shore of the sea, on the East.

He looked past the sea to the mountain which was covered in ice, planted in another small island.

"An island in an island?"

The thought was funny. He was nervous. The trial mode really fucked with an important part of him. Since then, he'd been unnecessarily nervous.

He puffed a wave of warm air, then sung his anthem,

"Fuck this."

He dropped the surfboard on the nearest wave and hopped on it. There he go, surfing across the water.
