Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 83

Damien pushed the surfboard forward smoothly with both his soles, jumping off the last wave of the sea as he arrived on the small island. He gracefully tucked the surfboard under his left arm and took few steps forward. In his mouth was,

"What's this place?"

As his eyes scurried around. He couldn't get a clearer picture of what the island looked like. There was a huge mountain which filled that side of the island. There was about four feet space by the right of the mountain, the left had waves crashing against it.

Damien wouldn't be surprised if he found a school of fish on the shore. The aquatic business was really rich at that place.

He couldn't keep standing at where he was. He

strode in the direction of the mountain, off the wide back towards the open space to its right. He walked for a while before he would walk past it.

"Woah."

He exclaimed as his eyes travelled through the empty frozen space before him. He gulped for no reason. He didn't know why he wasn't getting a good vibe about this.

Obviously the system never told him to come here. The system never included it in its list of tasks. Damien had decided to visit out of curiosity.

"Ice and ice and Ice."

He began to walk even closer. From his position to the end of the space, was empty. It was just an empty vacant space covered in ice. Several distance ahead of him was the ocean.

"Would this place sustain life? Let's assume I want to make this place my temporary home because of hiding from the girls, would making fire be easy?"

Suddenly he remembered that he had a system. He didn't have to worry about little things like that. Those were the most basic of all tasks.

After he had walked to an extent, he was forced to turn to his left. His eyes widened at a a sudden discovery.

"A cave."

He was so excited. He forgot about the vast space and whatever which had occupied his mind earlier. He hurried towards the cave.

"A cave in a mountain."

He muttered as he entered into the cold and dark cave.

"Why does this place feel ominous? Or am I just too sensitive?"

He didn't have an answer to either of the questions. Probably, not yet.

Unlike when he was walking past the breadth of the mountain side with wild strides, he sauntered like a drunk fellow into the cave.

He was forced to stop at a place where he couldn't go any further in the cave. There were big rocks in the way. He turned slowly around tracing his vision across the place.

There wasn't really anything of striking interest in the cave. Just a cold, dark, and hard rock. From the looks of things, it seemed as though the mountain had never been visited or defiled.

His heart thumped in a fast pace in his chest.

"Does this make me the first person to visit this Mountain?"

Funny thing was that the jungle wits skill didn't tell him anything yet, but he was beginning to have strange ideas that seemed to need no further prove.

He didn't know what to attribute the feelings to. He didn't want to force his way around them.

"Being the first person to have sex on the cold earth of this cave would be the best experience ever."

He knew he was been naughty and unnecessarily funny, yet he couldn't help but nurse the thoughts.

He walked to where he could, and climbed on one of the rocks. Gaining a firm stance, he looked quickly around, to catch a better view. Then did he notice that there were other rocks placed higher.

He looked up at the highest rock. If he could get to the top, he would be able to see the nook and crannies of the super big cave.

He wasn't sure if it was necessary to do so. He didn't know why the jungle wits didn't tell him anything yet. Probably because doing this was not part of the system task?

He knew he should be in the woods of the big island, using the invisible skill that the trial mode had earned to finish making the clothes of the Cannibals, give them a civilization and unlock all the skills and earn half a million experience points!

"Whatever. What's the point of being on this island if I won't make the best of my time?!"

He scoffed as though he was having an argument with someone physical. Whereas he was busy battling with his alter ego.

He dumped the thoughts and started to climb from one rock to the other. It was very easy for him. He had obtained climbing skills at the beginning of his stay on the island.

He got to the top.

"Oh wow. What a feeling."

He exhaled deeply.

"Now this is what am I talking."

He chuckled wryly.

"It must be very interesting to be a god. Have a seat at a very high place and oversee things going under you."

A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. The smirk broke into a wild smile.

He looked across the cave. Suddenly, he noticed some group of red plants with yellow flowers. The flowers glowed, blinking occasionally.

"Oh, my God. This is so beautiful."

He gulped. He swiftly jumped from one rock to the other till he got to the nearest rock whose silhouette was shielding the school of plants.

He bent down slowly.

"What are these? They are so beautiful. Oh my God... so gorgeous."

He could go on munching adjectives with which to qualify his feelings about the plants, but he decided to take a break.

He realized that stooping would do him no good if he was to touch the plants, let alone pluck the flowers. He decided to go on his knees.

Even after kneeling, he had to push his frame forward, his long arms reaching slowly till it touched the tip of the red plant.

He felt a surge travel through his spine at the contact. As though the plant passed a current through his body.

[Ping! Jungle Wits: do not touch.]

Damien's jaws dropped when the system popped up.

"The fuck, bruh! Why didn't this shitty wit talk before now?"

[Ping! System notification: Since the host took a delight and made contact, a Nether task has been unlocked.]

[Ping! Nether task: Rid this patch of frozen space from all predators and gain an insight on locating the treasure trove tucked away into the corners of the mountain.]

Damien's heart pounded wildly in his chest like the former would crack the latter open.

"What the fuck is this about? Why do I have to go from one trouble to the other?"

Suddenly he recalled the last statement of the system.

"A treasure trove? Did it say a treasure trove...? Fuck this, I'm doing anything if I'll get to be richer after I leave this island."

He smiled.

"I've seen worst. I can't die from this. I have fought with a lion, survived the pressure of a big cobra's tail, tamed the Cannibals, won the heart of a wolf... yes, humped almost all the top tier girls..."

There was the smirk again.

"Why should I be worried about predators on this frozen place...? What could be the worst case scenario?... How many predators could this small space have to offer?"

He scoffed.

"Fucking predators, let's get this over with. I have something really urgent to do."

He increased his voice now,

"Bring it on, fucking predators!!!"

And as though the mountain had ears, there came a sort of movements, more like gently taps of little feet and sounds made by the likes of crickets.

"Huh? What was that?"

Damien looked around hungrily in search of where the sound was coming from.

"I can't see anything. But this approaching sound is getting louder."

He was becoming jumpy. He knew he shouldn't. For the system to had brought another task, it meant that he could still rely on it.

Suddenly, he saw a troupe of big scorpions with red heads crawling up the rock on which he was still kneeling. He jumped up on his feet at once.

"Oh my God."

He gulped in fear this time.

SCORPIONS? FUCKING SCORPIONS!!!

He thought. Then he realized that fear would take him nowhere good. It wasn't the right feeling to nurse.

"Scorpions that sound like crickets. Bruh."

The chittering sounds of the scorpions didn't only become louder, but was beginning to come from every corner of the cave.

Damien had no choice but to turn. His jaws dropped, eyes bulging at his sockets at the horrific and threatening view.

Scorpions every where. Crawling up the rocks, filling the earth beneath him. They were so many that, their assembly was three feet tall, and each scorpion was about the size of his head.

Damien need not lie to himself. He knew that he wasn't ready. He wasn't prepared. He knew too well.

"One thing."

He muttered. There was only one thing he could do at that moment. The scorpions had crawled to the top of the rock and were determinedly crawling in haste towards his legs. His decision was now or never. He knew too well.

He quickly brought up the system and activated the wind speed. Point in time, one of the scorpions sprouted wings and flew towards him and landed on his chest.

"Holy shit!"

He zoomed out of the cave like the wind, in the blink of an eye. In no time, he was at the shore of the ocean, where he started.

He dropped his surfboard on the water and hopped on. He surfed on.

"Wooo... that was so close."

He sighed in relief. Suddenly, he felt something crawling up his chest. He looked down slowly.

"Ahhhhh!!!"

He screamed at the sight of the scorpion. Angrily crawling towards his face.
