Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 102

"What do you think I should do?"

Evelyn was seated, facing the smeared wall of the cave. Her eyes were heavy and weary. It seemed as though she had just finished crying. She sniffled for the last time then turned to the mouth of the cave, where the white wolf was standing.

"They are taking me for granted. I can't continue this way. You can't imagine what Laurette did to me today. They must really think that I'm a fool and can be tossed around whichever way they want."

She paused for a while, heaving a heavy sigh.

"I don't think I've ever earned any sort of respect from any of them, no matter how little."

She gulped, looking away from the wolf who started walking in slowly, throwing one limb before another.

"Damien. Only Damien sees me as a person. He's the only one who considers me as someone who has an emotion. He is the only who treats me with respect. The rest think I am a joke."

There was pain both in her eyes and words. She looked like she had been wronged, which was true.

Her pity face suddenly had a flare to it, growing into a tough counterpart.

"But I know what to do. Let's see how far they can tolerate this new side. But it will be their faults. Especially Laurette and Claire. It would be their faults that I'm turning into a new person."

She looked scary at that moment. Her brows cocked, lips moving drastically. A strange shadow fell on the corners of her eyes.

Then again, she dropped the whole new mood thing. She stood up and walked to the wolf.

"Where do you think Damien is? Do you really think he is dead?"

She paused for a while observing the wolf very closely.

"He's not dead right? If he is dead, you won't be at peace. I know that you actually love him too. I'm sure that you do want him more than we do. He means more to you than he does to -- no, he means more to me than he does to you."

She rolled her eyes at the wolf. She walked past her.

"Though I have no idea how you guys became friends. How did it happen, did you ---"

She stopped talking. It seemed as though she just realized something.

"I'm talking to myself. You must be enjoying yourself so much."

She sneered at the wolf and tried to walk out of the cave. She halted again and turned.

"I'm sure that Ayisha saw something. My gut feelings tell me that it has something to do with Damien, but I'm not so s---"

Her eyes squinted.

"No way... that place was an island. Right? Yes! It was. If it's another island, whether small or big... what does that mean?"

She walked back to the wolf,

"What does it mean, friend?"

She squatted by the wolf again and began to stroke her head. Gently and passionately. You'd think that she wasn't the same girl with the whole attitude.

The wolf must have a reason for choosing her out of the whole girls.

"Damien... could it be... could it be by any chance that he is on that ---"

She chuckled, shaking her head as though she would make it drop off her neck.

"No, that doesn't make any sense. How could he leave us all by ourselves to live on another island?"

"Maybe he's tired of us. Probably he isn't used to being with a lot of girls. He used to be treated cruelly and suddenly got lots of love, though some feigned, some true... he probably was a bit --"

She took in a deep breath. She licked her lips. She did all she could to help stimulate her thoughts.

"Maybe that isn't the reason. Perhaps there was something more important. Probably he got something else to do. Like something he didn't want us to know about?"

She chuckled again at how far she was taking the thoughts. How hard she was trying to get an answer to all the questions stalking her mind.

"Perhaps I'm thinking too much. For all I knew, I might be thinking this way because of what I desperately want. Damien on another island... funny."

She seemed to had finally arrived at a conclusion. She would give up on all the thoughts.

"Too bad, no matter how hard I think of it, I can't seem to arrive at something ---"

"Evelyn... Evelyn...!"

There was a sudden voice outside the cave.

"God... Laurette. How did she find me?"

Evelyn ran to hide behind the wolf.

"Her footprints lead all the way here, but there is nothing good out here. Or could she be in that cave."

Laurette laughed.

"Evelyn in a cave? She can't. That cry baby. She doesn't have the courage to walk alone in the bush let alone stay alone in a cave."

Evelyn could hear Laurette loudly and clearly. Laurette's voice said that she was advancing towards the cave.

"Where should I hide... where?"

Evelyn looked behind her. It was an open cave. There was no hide whatsoever. Suddenly, something hit her.

"Run? Hide? Why the fuck should I hide? Didn't I say that I want to --"

She jumped up and walked past the wolf. Point in time, Laurette appeared at the mouth of the cave.

"Evelyn, you are here."

"Yes I am."

Evelyn retorted. Laurette noticed the sudden change in her mild face.

"What's the problem? Why do you look like someone shat on your face? Pretending to be tough?"

Laurette scoffed.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to say that. You have every right to be mad at me. I just wanted to apologise for what I did. It's good to know that someone else cares about me. It would be foolish of me to take you for granted. To take your kindness for granted. Please forgive me."

"What if I don't want to?"

"Huh?"

It was natural for Laurette to be confused about Evelyn's sudden change.

"What if I don't want to forgive you?"

Evelyn repeated the word, loudly this time. Laurette tilted her neck sideways, observing Evelyn's face. She bursted out laughing at once. Pointing at Evelyn.

"Funny... the joke is funny. I never knew that you were also funny Evelyn..."

Laurette walked closer to her.

"Keep your distance!"

Evelyn snapped at her but Laurette didn't take it seriously.

"What's the matter, Evelyn? Was it more than that?"

"I said keep your fuckin distance, bitch!!!"

Evelyn screamed on top of her voice. Laurette was very stunned, but Evelyn didn't seem to care. At least, that was what her eyes said.

"What did you just call me?"

Laurette's eyes were growing red.

"A bitch. In short, you are not just any type of bitch, but a gruesome bitch and more!"

Laurette's mouth was gaped.

"Do you have a death wish?"

She made to lunge at Evelyn. At once, the wolf jumped in the way, growling and snarling at Laurette. Laurette fell back. She was in a great terror.

"Go back! Did I call you?! I told you I would be doing this. Why did you have to butt in? Don't you think you are doing too much?"

Evelyn snapped at the wolf who whined and walked away, back to where she was lying.

Back to Laurette who was still trying to get up, Evelyn looked.

"If you know what is good for you, convince those useless legs of yours to lead you out of here. Else you wouldn't be able to take what is about to befall you. Dumb bastard."

Evelyn couldn't wait for Laurette to do what she had just spelt out. She walked towards Laurette and almost kicked her while she walked out of the cave. The wolf followed her at once.

Laurette who was still in shock just watched as the two left. Her red eyes were beaten at the moment. Without warning, she started to sob. She probably didn't see the tears coming either.

"Where do you think you are going?"

Claire called at Ayisha who kept walking briskly up the path.

"Where the fuck are you going, bitch? Am I a sort of handbag to you? Do you think I don't have pride? Why should I keep following while you do whatever you want?!"

Ayisha halted at once. She spun around to Claire. Both girls glared wildly at each other. Neither of them was willing to cower before the other.

"Then go back. Who told you to join me? You can as well go back and do what you do best? Walk aimlessly around, searching for what you can't find... something you have no courage, wits or resources to find."

Claire scoffed when Ayisha stopped.

"Look at this bitch talking. Who gave you the hint. Who brought us this farl? Didn't you come to me first? Or is this bastard a retard?"

Ayisha threw her face to the sky and sighed so loudly. The what-a-team-member I earned myself kind of sigh.

"See, I don't have the strength for this, Claire. Just go back."

She turned to leave but Claire charged and grabbed her arm.

"Do you think I'm joking?"

"Ah... this bitch."

Ayisha grunted, looking slowly at her.

"Okay. I want to talk to the Cannibals -- "

"About what?"

"Who's this bitch?! Won't you calm down?"

"Okay. Be fast."

"I want to ask them to make me a boat."

Ayisha, after explaining, snatched her arm and walked away.

"What do you need a boat for? Can the Cannibals even make that? Do you think you can talk to him?"

Ayisha stopped all of a sudden.

"If you don't shut up right now, I'll pluck all your teeth. Crazy bastard."

She resumed walking.

"What did you just call me?"

Claire followed.

Damien's body was lain by the shore of the ocean. He was awake and his body was active. The only thing left to do was opening his eyes. But then he felt a sudden shadow fall on him.

He could tell that it wasn't--- he flipped his eyes open.

Standing over him was a clothed man with a big scar on his forehead.

"Huh... who are ---"

Before he could complete the words, the fellow had trusted his heels. Damien jumped up at once.

From one trouble to the other? Poor MC?
