Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 117

"How are you feeling, Laurette? Say something."

Ayisha was standing over Laurette. The rest of the girls were scattered around Laurette's room. Laurette was lying on a foam board.

Mira was seated with legs stretched, Laurette's head on her laps. She couldn't take her eyes of her sister's. Her face was pale, eyes heavy from tears. Some corners of her face had swollen into soft mounds.

She looked like she couldn't do anything else. She stared blankly. Meaning that if she wanted to act or speak, she just couldn't find the will to do it.

"She's getting worse. At first, she could respond, but not now... she can't even open her mouth anym---"

"Jada!"

Claire snapped.

"What?!!"

Jada didn't seem ready to own up to the fault.

"If you can't help, at least shut that hole of yours which you call mouth! Can't you see? Are you blind or dumb?"

"Claire, we don't have time for this. Let's leave the devil out of it and worry only about the sick."

Lisa schooled Claire who looked back at Laurette. She seemed to agree with what Lisa had just said.

"We can't keep looking at her, else things would worsen. We should think of a way to save her. Things might get worst if we just stand by and watch without acting."

"What do you propose we do then? We can't just walk into the woods and pluck roots or leaves. We don't know what any of them work for. Plus Damien already warned us to be sure of something before using it."

"Damien this... Damien that... can't you use your own head? Must you always give reference to him? I'm sure that if he was somewhere out there watching this, he would be so glad to see that his spell is really working on y'all."

There was a long pause after that argument. But the girls knew that they couldn't hold unto that for long. Else, they would be fiddling with the life of someone very indispensable.

"Do you think it's because of the Cannibal?"

"What do you mean because of the Cannibal?"

"I mean... Could it because she sucked his dick. We all know that these beasts have had no bath all their lives until recently we found them at the waterfall. You want to imagine the amount of infection and diseases having a contact with them would cause."

"That's right. Evelyn has a point. That could be the case. Why didn't I think of it?"

"How can that be true though? But why should I speak, if I do... it would be Jada this, Jada that..."

"Speak if you want to. Stop farming attention."

Jada rolled her eyes at Claire.

"It's obvious isn't it?! If someone should be affected, shouldn't it be Ayisha?! Ayisha was the last person who had such contact with the Cannibal."

"That might be right. But what if it takes time for the infection or disease to kick in. Just like Covid and several other novel diseases and viruses."

"Ew... don't talk about Corona here. Ruined my 2020."

"It also helped us have the highest YouTube subscribers. Many were indoors. We were able to kick in that proud T-series in --- bagging about 4 billion subscribers."

"T-series could never break the fraction... aren't they about 220 mil subs?"

"Didn't Allison have a case? Turns out to be a false alarm."

Jada chuckled.

"I was so fucking scared. Cos the night before she started coughing uncontrollably, we shared the bed. We even ate from the same plate. I was dead scared that I couldn't --"

"Really, Jada... Really!!!!"

Claire raised her voice and the noise quiet down. She continued.

"Are we really talking about this when one of us is at the verge of death? Is that it?"

"My sister is not going to die, watch your words."

Mira who had been quiet all along snapped at Claire who gave no hard feelings.

"I have a suggestion."

Ayisha came on.

"She always does."

Jada muttered, but the rest of the girls already heard her, though they didn't give a damn. They were acquainted with what stuff she was made of.

"Let's divide ourselves into three groups."

"Three?"

Lisa interrupted, but Ayisha wasn't ready to answer the question. Instead she continued as though she didn't hear someone speak.

"Three in two groups, two in the last one."

Another pause like she was expecting another interruption.

"The first three will stay and attend to Laurette. Paying close attention to every little changes. At least, as much as we can detect... we do not have medical equipments."

"The second group would go into the kitchen and prepare for us what to eat. The fish we hunted could be spiced up and the remaining rice boiled. Use the sea water as salt. Obviously after boiling the water till the salt appears..."

"While the third group... three people, would go into the woods with me and we would do all we could to bring back something that would be helpful to her health."

"Does anyone have an objection?"

Jada put up her hand at the question. Some of the girls grumbled and complained under their breaths. Jada didn't seem like she cared.

"What is it Jada?"

Ayisha tried to be collected. Like she always did. Majorly, her looks says that... her heart might be quite scary, antagonizing the tricks of the eyes.

"I will go to search for the roots or plants that would save her."

"And why would you want to do that? Who knows if you want to harm her..."

Claire was ever ready to take Jada on.

"Common sense is not common. Now I understand why that saying is right."

Jada looked away from Claire as though the latter was irrelevant. She looked around, picking each girl in her rude gaze,

"Who will join me and Ayisha? Let's save a sister."

"Claire..."

Ayisha called noticing that Claire was fuming in rage and might do something really crazy. But Claire on the other hand,

"Let's go."

She seemed to had misunderstood Ayisha's intention. Claire, Ayisha and Jada left to get herbs to treat Laurette while the rest sort their groups.

While the three girls walked through the woods, none of them having no intention to speak to the other, they heard a movement up ahead of them. They were about few metres away from the castle.

"Did you hear that?"

Ayisha was the first to stop.

"I didn't come with my crossbow. I should have. What if it's a --"

"So, it's all mouth, Jada? I thought you were as fearless as your words. Oh, I forgot, what was I expecting from someone who almost let a wolf kill Evelyn... let's save a sister my foot!"

Claire sneered at Jada.

"You fucking bitch!!"

Jada wanted to lunge at Claire but then they heard a thud behind them.

It was strange that the movement came from up ahead, but a thud from behind.

"Oh God..."

Jada's heart was beginning to do crazy beats. Claire also was scared, but it seemed like she was trying to impress someone.

The three turned at once...

"What!!"

"It's the white wolf."

"We don't have to be scared right?"

Jada grabbed unto the nearest arm to her and clutched to it. She didn't even care who the person was. Claire.

"Get off me, bitch..."

Claire swung, fighting herself free. She staggered and almost fell at the force.

"It shouldn't... I think he's here to help."

Ayisha assured them.

"How can you tell?"

"Isn't it obvious, Jada bitch?"

None of the girls could hold unto their differences at that point time. They all looked to their front;

The giant white wolf had plants in its mouth, staring at the girls.

"His eyes are scary. I'll shit my pants."

"Can you be quiet bitch!!!"

The wolf turned away from them and began to walk down the path which led to the Castle.

"Let's follow her."

Ayisha not only spoke but took the first step. That was enough courage for the Thomasines.
