Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me novel Chapter 40

"The scandal is about Bryant and me?"

Harriet bounced from her chair at once, "Who wrote it?"

"We do not know who the culprit is as there are just some major marketing accounts spreading pictures shot by the crew. Bryant has great popularity while our fans are very tempered. They just fight against soon."

Harriet immediately browsed the news. She almost fainted when she saw some headlines.

"Shit!"

Less than half a day, the topic ranked to the first hot searching news.

As the earliest idol actor, Bryant had tremendous fans. Although he could not compete the current four big-flows male stars. He had his loyal fans as he had debuted long time ago and made lots of good works.

Harriet was just a little actress without huge reputation. Although she had filmed a lot of dramas in the past few years, she did not make great works. She did not have lots of fans except the ones who became her fans because of the last gossip about mistress.

It was also these fans, who directly fought against Bryant's fans on Facebook.

"Kate, why is the gossip still hot-searched?"

Harriet took a half-day off from the crew to go back to the company. Kate said clearly on the phone that she would deal with it as soon as possible, but she had been in the company for a long time and the gossip news was still there.

"Please sit down and drink a cup of tea. We are handling the issue, but I do not know why the Facebook editorial department didn't answer my phone at all. I have sent people to deal with it by other methods."

"I have drunk a lot of tea already," Harriet was impatient. "I don't intend to trouble you, but why the clarification statement drafted by Molly has not been stamped?"

She was annoyed by Bryant's fans because of that unstamped clarification, but she could not post a Facebook to clarify it.

"Boss William has been on a business trip these days, and we fail to get the stamp right now."

"Kate, are you fooling me?"

Harriet got angrier, and her charming and delicate face turned to be aggressive. "If our famous actress Michelle needs the stamp to fix an issue, you also cannot do some public relationship to deal with it because of the absence of Boss William?"

Kate looked embarrassed and sighed for a while, "Harriet, the company is not mine. After all, it depends on the bosses who control the chance of actors. I am just followed the boss's order. I am sorry that I could not do anything for you."

"You'd better think about who you offended again recently rather than quarrel with me."

The word ‘again' almost made Harriet laugh.

She worked diligently and never complained. She was always kind to others except she was harmed by them. She could not think out who she had offended lately except Wesley.

"Kate, I got it. I will take care of this matter myself. I won't trouble you anymore."

Harriet simply got up and left Kate's office straight away.

The price of leaning back a big boss was that once he gave you up, your bad lucks would come one after another. If Wesley did it, she would not be too worried as Wesley would not push her to dead.

But the problem was that the pediatric trick this time was not like Wesley's style.

Jack put the Ipad in front of Wesley and explained, "Boss, the gossip news about Miss Clark is still hot searched. Her new agent's public relations ability is not good as she juts posted a clarification on Facebook without an official stamp. The Bryant's fans fought against them more furiously. "

Wesley glanced through the news and asked casually, "Hasn't pleasure Media solved it?"

"No." Jack frowned, his expression stopped, "There is still another thing."

He knew that Wesley still cared about Harriet, so he checked the news as soon as it broke out, but found that he could not fix the issue on his own.

"Tell me."

"I called the editorial department that posted the news, but they said that the gossip and even those network writers were arranged by the Pleasure Media.

"Who has she offended again?"

Wesley's tone is very casual, Harriet looked like docile but she would fight for her rights. All she created were little troubles which could be solved easily.

Jack hesitated, "Boss William knows you support Miss Clark. Even she offends someone, nobody dare to make her trouble. The issue is strange so I investigated it."

He whispered,

"This matter seems to be related to... Madam Jones."

Wesley raised his head, "Jones family?"

Jack's cell phone suddenly rang. He glanced at Wesley, "Boss, it is Miss Clark."

As soon as Harriet came out of the Pleasure Media, she called Jack, "Where is Wesley?"

Jack paused for a few seconds,

"Boss is on a business trip."

"Business trip? When did he leave?"

"This morning, Miss Clark, is there anything I can help you?"

"It's no big deal, can you tell me when you come back?"

"Miss Clark, I am sorry I cannot tell you."

It was an expected answer and Harriet was very calm. "Jack, we have known each other for two years. I have always appreciated you. I was very grateful for the thing you reminded me last time. I am not looking for him but you. Could I invite you for a meal to express my thanks?" "Miss Clark, you...you can't talk nonsense, when did I remind you?"

Jack was always calm, but he apparently panicked this time.

Harriet deliberately squeezing out her sweet voice without letting him explain, "That's it, Jack, I'll book a restaurant in advance till the time and contact you again."

The phone hung up immediately.

At the other end of the phone, Jack looked pale, "Hello... Hello, Miss Clark..."

The air in the office almost froze.

Looking at Wesley's livid face, Jack was almost crying. "Boss, I don't know why Miss Clark said that. I really have nothing to do with her ..."

Wesley almost snapped off the signature pen in his hand with fury, "Be smart!"

Even if she gave Harriet a hundred guts, she dared not mess up with the people around him. As for why she said that, it was just because she knew he was next to Jack, and she said that purposely.

"Go pick her up."

"Yes."

Didn't she want to see him indirectly? Then just accepted her idea and saw what she wanted to do.

Harriet hung up the phone in a state of uneasiness. She lowered the brim of the cap, walked out of the Pleasure Media and got into the motor house.

As soon as he got on the car, Molly asked, "Harriet, who are you calling? Bryant said you couldn't be reached."

"He called me?" Harriet glanced at the phone. There were really two missed calls. "What's the matter? Did he tell you?"

"Well, Bryant's studio has not issued a statement of clarification. He would like to ask you if you want to have dinner together tonight. He is going to invite a few friends together and then you can take a group photo to make a clarification that you are just friends."

"Could he be a bit creative?" Harriet rubbed her swollen temple and collapsed on the seat. "This is just an old-fashioned public relations technique. If I meet him in private now, the gossip will be crazier. Netizen are not stupid. They will not believe what you just say. They have known a lot of actors and actress who finally announced the relationship after they considered them as friends before. It will intrigue people's imagination."
