Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me novel Chapter 84

After the shooting, Harriet brought Molly to the Pop Culture Group to ask for mercy, Cherry chose to get in the van instead.

As Harriet's car slowly went ahead, she picked up a call, her smile frightening.

"Nobody found out anything, right?"

At the other end of the call was her assistant, the person said confidently, "Don't worry Miss Whitty, the person shouldered all responsibility as an anti-fan, nobody would find out that you are involved with it."

Cherry smiled even more widely, "Good, I already have plans of how to clear my name even if people were to find out about it. Alright, wait for my instructions, for the time being I need to build a good relationship with Harriet and I can't waste this chance."

She hung up, squinted her eyes and mumbled to herself, "Watch me Harriet, I won't be as easy to deal with, unlike the other idiotic woman.

At the top floor of the Pop Culture Group building was the president's office.

Harriet requested for a meeting but was immediately rejected because Wesley was apparently super busy and didn't have any time at all. She wondered if it was a fact or just an excuse.

"Then, when would Mr. Smith be done with his work?" Harriet wasn't planning to leave, she was thick-skinned enough to bombard the person with questions until she got hold of Mr. Smith.

"I'm sorry, Miss Clark, I'm not sure myself." answered Jack expressionlessly.

Molly sighed, "It's okay, Harriet. Nobody can change Mr. Smith's mind, let's take our leave."

However, Harriet was not willing to give up. She was always suffering because of the man's action, she got unlucky and was almost shocked, how could she just accept everything like it's nothing? She had to ask for some sort of compensation from him.

As they were talking, they heard the acute and distinct clicking sounds of sharp stiletto heels as they echoed their presence on the floor, Harriet and the others simultaneously turned towards the source of the sound.

As the saying goes, "Only those who harbour ill-intentions always come around". The person looked familiar, wasn't she Louisa?

Of course Harriet was the first person who caught Louisa's eye, her expression immediately turned sour.

"You coquette, how dare you show your face at Wesley's office?" Louisa wasn't even trying to be polite, the first sentence that came out of her mouth was already harsh.

Seeing how aggressive the woman was, Molly immediately stood in front of Harriet, her eyes wide open as she yelled, "Who's a coquette? Don't go around insulting people!"

Louisa looked her up and down, her eyes scornful and she said, "Who is this nobody?"

"How can you be so impolite?" Molly had never met such an arrogant woman with such a huge presence, she was a bit overwhelmed.

Harriet retorted unhurriedly, "Yeah, how can a person be so impolite? It seems like the upbringing in the Jones family is not really well principled, I mean who teaches their daughter to go around insulting people, calling others a coquette or a nobody."

Louisa couldn't win the argument as Harriet was gifted with a quick and sharp tongue, she was also slightly afraid of Harriet due to her fearless attitude during an incident from before. She didn't want to fight a battle that she couldn't win, so she backed down and started to rant about the matter at Jack instead.

"What are you doing, why did you allow these small fries to be a nuisance to Wesley?"

Jack replied humbly, "The president has some business to attend to right now, he wouldn't be able to meet you."

"Is his work more important than me? I called him a few times but he never answered. I'm now here in person and he won't even open up the door to let me in?"

Louisa sounded willful and naive, it was obvious that she was usually pampered and always got what she wanted.

Harriet felt a sting in her heart after hearing what she said.

Wesley had to spoil Louisa rotten, seeing that the woman was acting so unruly and willful. "Is his work more important than me?" That wasn't something a normal person would dare to say out loud.

In comparison Harriet had to be respectful and obedient towards the man whenever they were together, the difference in treatment was immense.

The president's door opened and an assistant walked out of the door. The person said to Louisa respectfully, "Miss Jones, the president would like to see you now."

Hearing it, Louisa turned to Harriet and said triumphantly, "See, Wesley will always see me, you on the other hand… Should I ask him about letting you in? Wesley will surely agree if it's a request from me."

Molly couldn't stand it anymore, "You're such a willful and self-centred person, you are not entitled to be Mr. Smith's wife!"

Louisa didn't often appear in public, but one time there was a live streaming of a birthday party and her identity as Mr. Smith's fiance was revealed. Molly recognized who she was immediately and was trying to be respectful towards her because of her social status. She wouldn't have thought that she was such a mean person.

Louisa was angered by what Molly said, "I'm not entitled? If I'm not entitled who else could be? This coquette?"

She then glared at Harriet resentfully and said, "Before this I didn't want to have a dispute with you for Wesley's sake, but I've never thought that you are such a cunning and thick-skinned person. It seems that I will have to teach you a lesson for you to know your place, don't forget that I am his fiance."

At the very next moment Louisa raised her hand angrily and was going to slap Harriet on the face real hard.

Harriet reacted swiftly and held her wrist, they were equal in strength and Harriet managed to flung her hand away. She scowled at Louisa coldly and said, "Fiance? If I was not mistaken, at one point the whole world knew that you didn't want to marry Wesley, and now you are calling yourself his fiance? I think you are the thick-skinned one here, Miss Jones."

"You!" Louisa couldn't compete against Harriet at all, all she could do was to give Harriet a death stare.

Wesley was probably wondering what was taking Louisa so long to come into his office, he appeared in front of the group of people.

"Wesley, look at her, she's bullying me again!" Louisa took the opportunity to strike back as she now had a pillar of support. Louisa held the man's arm and said meekly, "You shouldn't forgive her this time around, she was bullying me even though we are now in your company. It would be bad if this got out, I'll definitely lose face!"

Even so, Wesley just glanced at her coldly, there wasn't a hint of sympathy or adoration in his eyes.

"Who do you guys think you are, making a fuss at the Pop Culture Group company?" He also glanced coldly at Harriet, and then at Jack, "Do you want to be fired? Why did you let them cause a scene here?"

Jack was startled, he almost broke into a cold sweat, "I apologize, Mr. Smith. I'll deal with the situation right now."

He then said to Harriet in a serious tone, "Miss Clark, I will need you to leave this place."

Usually Harriet would've chosen to leave the place seeing how menacing Wesley's expression was, but not this time. She was not willing to leave as she felt oppressed for some time now, not to mention how Louisa was looking all triumphant holding the man's arm. Instead of turning around, she took a step forward.

"Mr. Smith, I'm here because I needed to have a minor discussion with you about a certain matter. But Miss Jones here started insulting me the moment she saw me, I cannot comprehend why."

Louisa flew into a rage out of humiliation, "Who's insulting you? You are a coquette, otherwise why would you pester Wesley constantly?"

Harriet didn't even look at Louisa, she just gazed into the man's eyes.

"I never pestered Mr. Smith, the crew can be my witness and Mr. Smith himself would know best. I don't care about the rumours out there, but I cannot stand personal verbal assaults. I could sue you, Miss Jones, for malicious slandering, you know?"

On the other side of the president's office was the secretary area, the noises coming from here had started to catch people's attention, but they were just looking from a distance because of Wesley's authority. Harriet seized the opportunity to make use of the situation and make a stand.

"I heard that the Pop Culture Group has strict company rules, normally you as the president should be setting a good example for your employees, Mr. Smith. Miss Jones was slandering and making baseless accusations about me in your company, I don't see why I am responsible for her actions and why I am the one taking the blame for her."

Molly was listening intently next to her, she was in awe and she praised Harriet in her mind, "She has the gift of gab!"

Louisa was becoming more and more furious, she didn't care about her social status and was going to rush towards Harriet any moment, but Jack held her back.

"Let me go! I'm going to rip her throat out!"
