Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me novel Chapter 94

Keith looked even more miserable now, "But Harriet, I was worried that if I used too much strength, I might end up hurting you."

Harriet let out a deep sigh, "It's fine, the martial art instructor is present, just focus on playing your character to the fullest. If you're worried about me and it affects the way you act, then it will only be wise that we don't work together too often in the future."

Keith's expression immediately changed, "No, no, that wouldn't do. Don't be mad, Harriet, I promise I will do my best next time."

Harriet felt faint, "Don't just change the way you act just because I'm mad at you, don't change your style so casually. Keith, it's just a suggestion, I'm not forcing you to do anything."

"It's okay, I will do anything to make you happy."

"..." Harriet was speechless.

This child wouldn't understand her no matter how she tried to talk to him about it. Forget about it, he would get what she was trying to tell him one day, there was no point forcing it.

Nevertheless, in the next fighting scene, Keith improved greatly and even the director praised him.

After the scene, Cherry touched up her make-up at the studio, and was teasing Harriet again, "Mr. Miller listens to you well, the director reprimanded him a few times but he didn't change, and he immediately had a change in attitude the moment you commented on it."

Cherry said it with no ill-intention but Harriet knew something was wrong. Keith relied on her way too much, while it was true that a newbie required guidance from someone experienced, but where Keith needed a push always struck her as odd.

"We worked together before and built a rather good relationship. That's why he listens to my advice more, I think," Harriet tried to explain, maybe not only to Cherry but to herself as well, trying to wipe off the uneasiness she was feeling.

Cherry chuckled, "Maybe, but he really has a whole different attitude when it comes to you, you could think about having a side squeeze."

Harriet couldn't help but laughed, "Stop it, you. If I did that I'll be denounced publicly for my crime."

"Look at you, you're evidently thinking about a certain someone. Showing off and still denying that you guys are in a relationship, oh the nerve!"

Cherry said jokingly but Keith overheard the conversation, he sounded a bit unhappy, "Is Harriet in a relationship?"

Harriet stood up, "Of course not, don't listen to her nonsense, we were just joking around."

But Cherry didn't get the hint, she winked and continued saying, "Well what will you do if Harriet is really dating somebody?"

"I won't let that happen," Keith grimaced, "I'm going to make her mine."

From a third-person point of view, it sounded like a sulking child moping, because they didn't want to share their toy, but when Harriet looked into Keith's eyes, she could tell that he was serious about it.

Cherry only then realized that things were getting out of hand, she coughed and tried to smooth over the situation, "It's just a hypothesis, also our ace Harriet is so excellent, she must have a whole lot of secret admirers."

But her finishing blow was when she said without any other motives, "Though, Keith, if you really like Harriet you should hurry before she gets snatched away."

Harriet's head hurt, she hinted at Cherry and wanted her to stop talking, but Cherry wasn't paying any attention.

Luckily, the director called out to them and was telling them to get ready for the next scene, the conversation came to a stale end.

The filming went on for the whole day, Keith was waiting in front of the van as Harriet was going to leave the studio with Molly, he looked like a dejected puppy.

"Harriet, let me send you home."

Harriet rejected profusely, "No worries, I have my own car. You should go home early and get some rest, I shall take my leave as well."

Keith grabbed her wrist as she tried to turn around and walk away.

"I'm sorry, Harriet. I shouldn't say all those stuff I did today, I sincerely congrats you if you really have a boyfriend."

Harriet's uneasiness was washed away hearing that, she said to him a bit reluctantly, "I didn't really mind what you said, and you shouldn't mind the nonsense Cherry spouted today either."

Though Keith wasn't planning to loosen his grip, "Then… Do you really have a boyfriend?"

Harriet was going to say no, but the boy looked at her all full of hope, she decided to crush his hope and responded, "Yes, I do have a boyfriend. If you think of us as friends, I hope that you'll keep this a secret, it would be a bother if the media found out about this."

"...I understand," Keith let go of her hand dejectedly.

Just when Harriet finally got away from Keith, a black car parked next to her as she was getting into the van, and in the car was none other than Wesley.

"Get in."

Harriet glanced around hesitantly, people were walking around and most of them were leaving from the studio, it wasn't the best situation for her to get in his car like that.

Jack got out of the car and opened the door for Harriet, she was in no position to refuse his politeness and finally got in the car.

Keith stared at the woman getting in the car, his fists tightened and his eyes filled with waves of emotions.

The car drove smoothly towards the destination, Harriet pursed her lips for a long time and finally said, "Mr. Smith, don't you think that we are attracting too much attention?"

Wesley raised his eyebrow and answered, "Is it so?"

"Yes," Harriet thought it was time that they talk about this, "I understand that you are doing this to spite the Jones family, but the birthday party was so long ago, the Jones family should've reacted to the situation already. Hence, we should stop doing this."

Ever since Wesley openly brought her to the event, there were discussions among the people in the circle about the Smith family doing something out of maliciousness towards the Jones family because of the embarrassing incident at the birthday party. It was a miracle that Wesley didn't break down on the spot that day.

And thus, the people thought that bringing Harriet along to the events was a warning from Wesley to the Jones family. Nobody actually took the relationship seriously, from an outsider point of view, Harriet was just somebody with no background, an actress trying to make a name of herself, a short fling for Wesley. She was just a tool and wasn't qualified to get married to Wesley.

"The contract is still on-going," Wesley answered nonchalantly.

Harriet was silent, the contract duration was three years, when she signed it she never would've thought that the man would actually follow what was stated on the contract.

"I don't think that is a good idea, Mr. Smith. I assume that there would be no contract renewal if you got bored of me after three years. I'll be in big trouble if I'm not under your protection anymore, and that if the Jones family decided to come after me after the three years contract ends, I will be dead meat. It would be better if we end this high-profile act early on and hope that the acts of revenge and grudges will happen within the contract duration."

"They wouldn't dare."

Harriet was frustrated, "Well, you won't be with me for the rest of my life."

Wesley slowly turned to her and said, "I will, if you are willing to."

Harriet was in dismay.

What was he trying to say? That he would be her sugar daddy for the rest of her life?

"Thank you, Mr. Smith. But I wasn't planning to be a sugar baby forever, it's not a promising career, "Harriet smiled forcefully, her expression strenuous.

Wesley glared at her coldly, "You don't have a choice."

"..."

She never had a choice from the beginning, he used her when he felt like it, threw her away when he got bored, she was just a tool to him.

Harriet tried to hold back her tears, "You should at least move out from where I live. If the paparazzi were to find out that not only we see each other so often, but also living together, it wouldn't be easily brushed off as just a warning to the Jones family anymore."

"You really want to sever our relationship that badly?" Wesley's voice was frosty.

Harriet answered sincerely, "Of course, the backlash of being in a relationship with you is not something that a small actress like me can handle. I hope that you would give me a chance of survival and call off our relationship before things take a bad turn."
