Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me novel Chapter 98

Colin frowned deeply, "How did you know about my family situation?"

"Baseless sharp vigilance," Sandra was prepared, but she was here today just to give him a warning.

Colin was looking at a picture, the person in the picture looked like him. He took one step backwards, his face ghostly pale as if he knew what the woman was going to say next.

"Do you know who this is? This is Louisa's father," Sandra put away Allen's picture, she casually dropped a bomb on him, "And your father that left you guys."

Colin couldn't stand straight.

It was absurd, but his instinct was telling him that what the woman was telling him the truth.

"I don't want to admit it, but you guys are siblings," Sandra wasn't smiling ironically anymore, her expression now ice-cold, "Well then, are you so shameless that you will want to marry your sister? If you are even human, you should know what to do next."

Sandra left all satisfied, leaving Colin standing there in shock.

Two days had gone by, Harriet was in her game.

The drama improved her acting ability by a lot, even Wesley was shocked at her progress when he came by, she was in the zone when she was playing her character.

The woman he set his eyes on had to be good.

Harriet didn't have a scene with Keith today, just Cherry. She felt more relaxed and at ease.

Ever since the boy confessed, Harriet wanted to run away from him whenever she saw him. Luckily she was a professional, she wouldn't let her personal feelings affect her performance.

"Cherry, you are so pretty today."

Harriet's eyes lit up when Cherry walked into the studio, she praised her sincerely.

Cherry's make up today was exquisite, her knee-length skirt was refreshing, she was prettier than the character described in the script.

"Today is my birthday," Cherry smiled embarrassedly.

"Happy birthday!" Harriet quickly congratulated her, "But I didn't prepare any gifts for you, I'm so sorry about that. How about this, I'll treat you to a meal after the shooting, you can choose any restaurant you like."

Cherry unintentionally glanced at Wesley, "Maybe not, I don't want to bother you and Mr. Smith."

"It's no bother, he's a busy man, we'll just do whatever we want to."

Cherry's eyes dimmed upon hearing her say that.

The female protagonist had a big part this time around, Cherry had to act out being helpless and that she was in a difficult situation amidst heavy rain and wind. Though the weather was sunny and great out today, so props were used to recreate the scene.

Cherry was all wet and pitiable, one couldn't help to love her upon seeing her like that. Harriet lamented, "I would walk up and hug her tightly if I'm the male protagonist."

But Wesley suddenly said, "You are not allowed."

Harriet thought it was funny, "Why are you jealous of a girl, Wesley?"

Wesley didn't retort, he just plainly responded, "Just remember who you belonged to."

Harriet rubbed her nose bridge, she was thinking about a comeback but couldn't think of anything smart to say.

Anyways he would be angered if she were to say anything back, though she really wanted to tell him that she wasn't anybody's property but her own.

Cherry was sneezing a lot after filming the raining scene, the director quickly yelled "Cut!", and let Cherry rest for a bit.

Harriet immediately passed Cherry a towel as she got off the stage, Harriet also brought her some ginger tea and asked concerningly, "We should postpone the shoot if you are not feeling well. You don't look so good, it will be bad if you really get sick."

Cherry was standing right in front of Wesley, she rubbed her temple and answered, "I'm fine, I can still go on…"

Suddenly, her head plopped onto Wesley's broad chest, before she could finish her sentence.

Harriet's heart skipped a beat, Wesley was fussy about touching another person, she was afraid that he would do something to Cherry who was now pretty weak.

But she was thinking too much, Wesley wasn't annoyed nor disgusted, he was a gentleman and didn't push her away immediately, but he signalled Jack to come over.

Jack quickly held her and brought her to the chair. Cherry slowly opened her eyes and said meekly, "I'm sorry, I suddenly felt faint."

Shit, why is this assistant so efficient!

"We should go to the hospital," said Harriet worriedly.

But Cherry persisted that she didn't want to go to the hospital, she seemed fine after a while so Harriet just let her be.

Cherry wasn't actually sick though, she was just acting. She wanted to see how Wesley would react to her, but unfortunately, her existence meant nothing to him.

It seemed like a honey trap wouldn't work on him, but well, this man probably had seen many gorgeous women in his life.

After the shooting, half of the crew found out that today was Cherry's birthday, they suggested having a gathering to celebrate her birthday, Harriet was naturally part of it.

"I'm going to attend Cherry's birthday party later, you can head back first if you are busy," Harriet said to Wesley.

Wesley responded, "I'm not busy."

"Wesley, to be honest with you, I don't suggest you come along," Harriet cleared her throat and said seriously, "We are a filming crew, having a gathering with a superior like you would be no fun, you'll be the party pooper."

Wesley glared at her.

Harriet wasn't afraid, she stated straightforwardly, "Yes, party pooper. We won't be having any fun, cracking any jokes with you being there. This is not your glamorous rich people party, please don't bother our peasant life."

Wesley's face wore no expression, "If I can't go you can't either."

Tyranny!

"Fine, don't say I didn't warn you, come join our friendly gathering then," Harriet wasn't smiling when she said that.

The crew members weren't expecting Wesley to come along, nobody was laughing nor joking along the way, and they were as stiff as a board. They initially planned to save some money and have the celebration at a normal restaurant, but with Wesley there, it felt like it would be not right to book a normal restaurant, and hence they changed the venue into a high-end restaurant.

They headed to a high-end restaurant in California.

"Mr. Smith, please take a seat."

"Mr. Smith, please look at the menu."

"Mr. Smith, what would you like to drink, I'll bring it over."

Harriet was annoyed, he became the centre of the attention even though Cherry should be the birthday girl, she whispered to the man, "Give Cherry some face! What are we even here for if you are the one making all the decisions?"

Wesley raised his eyes and said to the crowd, "No need to be so formal, it is one of the crew member's birthday today, we should all have some fun."

Yeah right, how could they relax and have fun?

Harriet came closer and said to him," You haven't said happy birthday to Cherry."

Wesley was slightly irritated, Harriet glared at him and said, "Well you are the one that wanted to join her birthday party, how could you not even congratulate her?"

The intimate interaction between the two shocked the audience.

Mr. Smith pampered Harriet quite a lot… Was it actually true like what it said in the media, that both of them were actually in a relationship? Otherwise, with Harriet's status how would she dare to "order" Wesley around? And the intimacy between them didn't look like an act!

The people were speculating in their mind, Wesley then raised his glass and said to Cherry, "Happy birthday."

Cherry quickly stood up, she was flattered and embarrassed, her face flushed as she said, "Thank, thank you, Mr. Smith."

She then glanced at Harriet, feeling thankful that she helped to ease the awkwardness of the situation.

Thanks to Harriet, the atmosphere wasn't as stiff anymore. She went to the bathroom and Welsey followed after, which led to more speculations.

"Looks like Harriet and Mr. Smith is really dating, dang, she will become famous at this rate."

"That's hard to say, didn't Mr. Smith has a fiance? She's a mistress and she's already infamous on the internet, using Wesley as a stepping stone would probably bring down her name even more."

Chery frowned unhappily, "Don't say that. Harriet is not a mistress even if they are really together. Wasn't Miss Jones unwilling to get engaged to Mr. Smith? If so, they are not really engaged."
