Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me novel Chapter 111

They were at the bathroom sink when they heard the voice of one of the crew members, “Molly, the director is asking for Harriet to leave. Right now the producer and other actors are coming and it looks like they want to have a talk.”

“Ok, got it.” Molly turned her head and looked at Harriet worriedly, “She is so drunk right now, how can she leave like this…”

Cherry hurriedly said, “You go on out, I’ll stay here and look after her until she is feeling better and then we can leave. You are her agent, so you should at least go out there and greet everyone to excuse her absence.”

“Ok, sorry to trouble you.”

After Molly had left the bathroom, Cherry helped Harriet up, “Harriet, how about I take you to a room upstairs so you can rest a while?”

“No, I want to go back…”

“Go back and do what, you are too drunk now, so I think it would be better for you to rest here for the night and I will take care of you.” As Cherry said this she prepared to take her to the elevator up to the guest room when they just happened to encounter a very worried Keith.

“Harriet, what’s wrong?” Keith had obviously come out to find Harriet, and as soon as he saw her he came right over.

Cherry pretended to by accident push Harriet into his arms, “I’m glad you are here, I was worrying that I would not be able to help her move on my own.”

Keith naturally caught Harriet and then saw her frowning at him and uttering, “Colin?Colin you have come back? You have finally come back… I’ve been so worried about you.”

As she said this she didn’t care about anything and just buried her head into him and tears started to fall from her eyes.

Keith’s heart was pounding and he naturally didn’t push her away, however Cherry looked at him and then suddenly covered her stomach and frowned, “Why is my stomach suddenly hurting, Keith could you please look after Harriet. I just need to use the bathroom and then I’ll come back later.”

Keith was eager not to be disturbed so immediately replied, “Go, I will look after her.”

After Cherry had disappeared into the bathroom, the obsession Keith had for her was revealed in his eyes and he softly said, “Harriet, you have mistaken me for someone else, however it’s ok I don’t mind.”

As he said this, he lowered his head and kissed the top of her hair and the sweet fragrance that passed into his nose tickled at his heart strings which made a feeling of eagerness arise inside of him.

“Harriet, I… I just want to comfort you; will you blame me for this?” Keith said this as he raised her cheek and slowly got closer to her.

Just when their lips were only a few centimetres apart, Keith was suddenly pushed away by a great force and then he was punched hard onto the face. He was hit so hard that he grimaced in pain.

Then his arms were suddenly empty and Harriet was being dragged away by someone.

He raised his head up difficultly to look at this person, his pupils tightened hard to see who it was.

The person that had come was Wesley.

He was holding her in a rather condescending way, and that domineering sense of oppression made Keith unable to resist fighting back. However his sense of courage suddenly disappeared.

“I… I saw that Harriet was drunk so I was just bringing her somewhere to rest.” He without thinking about it tried to explain, and told himself that angering this man was perhaps not something he could afford to do.

Wesley gave him a look as cold as ice, “Keith, this is your final warning. Don’t blame me for not showing any respect towards your family.”

Keith clenched his teeth together and didn’t say anything back to him.

Wesley carried the woman, and didn’t look back as he continued to walk away.

Harriet didn’t know what had happened, but when she suddenly felt the force of the mattress on her back she immediately opened her eyes and in a slight daze looked at the man in front of her.

It looked like…Colin?

“Colin, you’ve come back?” She cried of joy and then hugged him tightly without caring about the reaction of the other person. “I just knew you were still alive, you wouldn’t really leave your sister alone, right?”

However a second later, the other person seemingly quite rudely opened her arms, pinched her chin and forced her to look straight at him.

“Harriet, look at me more closely and see who I am.”

This familiar voice, this cold tone…

Harriet looked him up and down and realized that the man in front of her was not her brother who she had been thinking about all day and night, but was actually Wesley.

“It’s you… why is it you? Where is Colin? Give me my Colin back now!”

Wesley clasped her moving hand and said without a trace of warmth in his voice, “He’s already dead.”

“You’re lying! How could Colin be dead, he just came out from the hospital. He still hasn’t fully enjoyed his life, still hasn’t been in love, still hasn’t married, and had kids, so how could he be dead... You are a liar!” Harriet struggled hard and furiously roared at him.

However the man in front of her didn’t care about her nearly collapsed mentality, and just told her clearly word by word, “Your brother went missing after the car crash, and even if he hadn’t died at the time, it’s been so long now so it’s almost the same thing. In addition he has already been in love, with his own sister, but what makes this even worse is that your younger sister is pregnant.”

Harriet was stunned, she could hear every word clearly however when they were connected together it made her brain completely crash.

“You… what are you saying? Why can’t I understand?”

Wesley whose face was both calm and composed said rather coolly, “To put it simply, Allen Jones is your father.”

Harriet just stared blankly.

Inside her mind was a mess, she didn’t know if this was just confusion from after getting drunk, or if she just struggled to accept this fact or Wesley was just playing a joke on her.

“So even if you don’t have Colin anymore, you are not alone because you still have the Jones family.”

From his words you couldn’t tell if he was being sarcastic or joking which made the anger within Harriet rise up and made her stare coldly at the man.

“Are you happy seeing me having lost everything?”

As he saw the woman’s eyes full of resentment, Wesley let go of her chin rather displeased.

“You still have me.”

Harriet was stunned and then immediately started to laugh as if she had just heard some joke.

“You? What are you to me? Oh, Wesley. I have been with you for two years, two whole years; you would think that within this time you would have developed some kind of affection towards me? But no, you, you have no heart at all! I lost a kidney, a pair of twins, and now I don’t even have my last relative anymore, I have nothing. Yet you still refuse to let me go!"

As she said this, having lost any sense of rationality she grabbed the man’s arm and started to bite him hard!

The taste of rust filled her mouth and she was surprised that the man didn’t try to dodge her attack. She then let go his arm fiercely and was about to run out of the door when suddenly everything went black and she collapsed on the floor.

Wesley was not surprised by her sudden loss of consciousness and caught her firmly.

Harriet’s current physical condition was not in good health. She was exhausted after drinking and after all the emotional ups and downs she had faced it was not strange that she would be suffering from physical exhaustion.

He helped the woman get back onto the bed and glanced at his arm which had a deep row of teeth marks on it mixed with blood.

How much does this woman really hate him to be able to bite down so hard on him?

Throughout the night she was muddleheaded and her memories were all confused and mixed up. When she woke up the sky was bright and there was no one on the pillow next to her.

She sat up in pain and saw that she was in Wesley’s private villa.

Damn it, why was she at this man’s place again?

The door opened and she saw Wesley dressed in casual home clothes which made it seem that today he didn’t need to go to the office.

“Why am I here?” Harriet’s memories were fragmented and she was unable to remember exactly what had happened yesterday. Her memory seemed to be temporarily stuck on the part when she was in the bathroom last night.

Wesley sneered and stretched out his well-defined arm, and on his arm were very obvious bite marks.
