Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me novel Chapter 118

"Open your mouth."

Wesley said when he saw Harriet narrowed her eyes and did not listen to him. Jack found the simple three words indicated spoiling and helplessness.

Harriet opened her eyes and said with a twang, "I want Wesley to feed me."

Wesley gently raised his eyebrows and said, "I’m doing what you want."

Harriet blinked, looked at Wesley again, and then nodded contentedly, "Fine!"

Then she took a sip of the soup in a bowl that Wesley held.

Jack stood aside and looked at them. He suddenly felt that he should not stay here, so he said gently, "Well, Mr. Smith, I'll go out first. You can call me if you need me."

Wesley said tonelessly, "OK".

After Jack left, Wesley was more gentle to her. He even did not realize that he was looking at Harriet lovingly.

"Wesley, can you stay?"

Harriet drank the sobering soup obediently. She saw Wesley put the porcelain bowl on the bedside table, and thought he was going to leave soon, so she hurriedly took his arm. Her tone was totally different from when she was clear-headed.

Wesley patted the top of her head and said, "I don't say I’ll go."

Harriet was satisfied like a child who got a candy. She went back to the quilt, held Wesley's hand, and added, "After I get up, I’ll cook dinner for you. Do you wanna poached eggs?"

"Yes."

She might think that they still lived in the house in the Pear Garden, and still lived a loving life as before.

Wesley felt relieved, which was a little bit strange. When he heard the lovely remarks of Harriet, he forgot the upset before and he did not want to investigate how she came closer to Bryant Fox.

Unfortunately, it seemed that she would not make him angry when she was drunk.

Harriet slept in a daze. Wesley stayed by the bed for a while, tucked the quilt around her, and checked the temperature on her forehead again. When he confirmed that she was getting better, he walked out of the room.

"Jack, send someone to take care of her."

After saying that, Wesley left seemingly indifferently.

Jack was confused again. Mr. Smith obviously cared about Miss Clark, but he pretended and did not want her to know about it. Why?

When he came back to the car, Wesley rubbed his brow and closed his eyes. He gripped the wheel tightly with the other hand.

There was only one reason for him to leave: if he stayed, he could not help kissing Harriet. He wanted to hug her, and asked her if she still had a headache and why she canceled the contract. He cared about everything about her.

It was funny. When did he start to care so much about her?

This was definitely not a good sign.

When Harriet woke up, it was obviously dark outside the window. There was soft lamplight.

She still had a headache and felt dizzy. She rubbed her head and found that she was in the house of Wesley. She opened the door and saw the light in the living room on, so she felt a little pleasantly surprised.

Wesley was here, wasn’t he?

"Hello, Miss Clark." Jack's voice came from the living room. He said, "I have prepared dinner for you."

Harriet looked around but did not find Wesley. She felt upset but pretended to be indifferent.

"No. I should go back."

Jack frowned in embarrassment and said, "But Mr. Smith told me that you could leave after taking the meal."

"Who is he to ask me to do that?" Harriet said indifferently, "He is my boyfriend? Husband? Fiancée?"

Jack could not answer her, and he added after a while, "Mr. Smith said that if you don't eat, you won't be sent out of here."

"Do I have to follow his orders even when I eat?" Harriet wanted to show the whites of her eyes.

When the cell phone rang suddenly, Harriet found that it was her phone ringing, so she took it out and glanced at it. She was surprised that Len Davis called her.

"Hello, is that Miss Clark?" Len asked her reservedly and carefully, but his voice and manner of speaking matched the image of him very much.

Harriet unconsciously thought of him who was blushing and shy. She smile and said pleasantly, "Yes. What’s the matter, Mr. Davis?"

"Well... I think it's getting late, but you haven’t come back yet, so I wanna ask you. But if you are busy, I'll hang up now."

Harriet smiled and said, "I’m not busy, but I don't know how to come back."

Len was confused and asked tentatively, "Couldn’t you hail a car now? Or..."

Hearing that, Harriet suddenly realized that she was indirectly bothering him, so she decisively said, "Forget it. I’m OK. If there’s nothing else, goodbye..."

"Wait, Miss Clark. I'll pick you up. I’m just free now." Len said hesitantly, "Although it is presumptuous to make such a request, I am a little worried that you will come back alone. Besides, we are neighbors. It’s convenient."

Harriet began to understand the thoughts of Len who was initiative. Many fans tried their best to get close to their idols. Len was actually quite reserved. In particular, he was considerate and polite and did not bring unnecessary disturbance to his idol.

She looked up at Jack's serious expression and finally agreed, "OK. Thank you."

Then she told him the specific address.

"Miss Clark, you..." Jack said.

Harriet smiled slightly and said, "You don’t have to drive me home. But I still thank Mr. Smith for being generous and allowing me to rest here for a while. If I’ve caused any inconvenience, I hope he will forgive me."

After saying some clichés, Harriet carried her bag and left without hesitation.

Jack frowned and called Wesley.

"Mr. Smith, Miss Clark doesn't want to have dinner, and it seems that someone is coming to pick her up."

Wesley said coldly. "Let her go."

When Jack wanted to add something, the phone had been hung up. He held the mobile phone and helplessly sighed.

He felt at a loss. As an assistant who only needed to execute orders, he unconsciously began to worry about his boss' affection...

Harriet just took Len's car back to the apartment.

Because she was still a little dizzy, Len stayed to take care of her for a while. They were just talking, and she did not know when he left.

In the next few days, Harriet was busy looking for jobs and contacting taxi companies, and she finally found traces of her younger brother.

Originally, on the day of the accident, Colin took a taxi with his friend’s father, so there should be two people in the taxi. But only one body was found later, and it was the father of his friends, which indicated that Colin was still alive. However, it was hard to imagine his situation.

Harriet decided to visit his friend today.

"Excuse me. Is there anyone in the house during the day?"

It was hard to find the address of the family. Harriet knocked at the door for a long time, but no one responded. Instead, the neighbor came out frowning and asked by the way.

The neighbor said with sympathy, "You should stop. This family seemed to offend someone and got into trouble, so they moved away recently."

Harriet became puzzled. She asked, "What’s the trouble?"

"Alas, you don't know. The man died in a car accident recently, and his wife wanted to go to court. But I heard that someone threatened them not to blow up the affair, so it ended up with nothing definite. However, a few days ago, I heard that their daughter was mentally ill and blind. I don't know who they had offended. It's too terrible..."

Hearing that, Harriet felt something familiar, but she was not sure.

From the information found out, the family name is "Le", is it...

Wait. It can't be so coincidental.
