Desperate Lovers novel Chapter 150

Danis was dumbfounded. He was angry at her words, but he didn’t know how to refute them.

Seeing Angela leaving, he quickly took a few steps forward to stop her... ever since two years ago, he always felt that she was getting increasingly distant, and that made him worried.

"Anything else, Mr. Smith?"

Angela raised her head to look at him, and under the incandescent light, the impatience and disgust between her eyebrows were clearly reflected in Danis’ eyes.

His heart ached abruptly and he was slightly stunned. He tried to open his mouth several times and finally he said in a very soft voice,

"If you’re right, I'll be on your side."

“Well.”

Angela sneered again.

"And may I ask you, when do you think your sister was wrong?"

Danis’ Adam apple rolled down and his eyes shimmer. Then he answered, ''Jessica has always been a very considerate and intelligent person, She always put herself in other people’s shoes.

Even after you deliberately hit her with your car two years ago, she didn't sue you because she was afraid that if she did, you'd spend the rest of your life in jail..."

Angela looked straight at him. The sneer in the bottom of her eyes was intensifying, but she didn't want to say a word.

It didn't make sense to talk to someone like Danis at all, and if she said more, it would just be a waste of time and energy.

At this time, there were footsteps approaching, and a warm male voice called Angela from behind, "Mr. Smith has said too much, I’d like to cut it short into one sentence,

You don't think your sister could do anything wrong, do you?"

Angela frowned slightly and turned to look at the man.

He was dressed in a tidy suit with a white lab coat. He looked handsome and cheerful. As he smiled, he had two deep dimples in his cheeks.

The night was dark and the light was dim. The man standing in front of her was as shining as sunshine.

"Roland?"

Danis asked and skimmed the man. Then he frowned.

Roland smiled with his eyebrows arched. Then he replied, "I haven't met you for seven years, I didn't expect Mr. Smith to recognize me at a glance."

The two were in the same class from kindergarten to junior high school, but Roland applied for an exchange program in the United States in his senior year, and he had never returned until now.

"This is really not a good place for our reunion."

Danis grinned a smile, but there wasn't a slightest joy in his eyes. He said, "I have some personal matters to discuss with my girlfriend, so please excuse us."

Hearing this, Angela's eyes turned darker. And as she was about to open her mouth, Roland asked first, "Girlfriend?"

Without waiting for Danis to respond, Roland gave a light laugh, "Danis, are you kidding?

My aunt always told me that you used to be stucked to Angela like a bubble gum, but ever since Jessica's incident two years ago, you and Angela have become enemies."

Danis’ expression changed and his fists clenched slightly.

Roland paused for a moment and raised his eyebrows slightly, "How come I don't know that she has become your girlfriend?"

Angela frowned as she heard the stranger mentioned her name so many times, but she didn’t say anything.

"What was between me and Angela is none of your business."

Danis’ fists clenched to tightly, and his face was so grim.

"I don't like what you're saying."

Roland reached out and pulled Angela into his arms. Then he laughed,

"My aunt… maybe you're more familiar with Aunt Susan.

She said she was going to introduce me to Angela as her boyfriend when I got back, so as her future boyfriend, what happens between you and her is surely my concern."

At first, Angela wanted to push away this man who had inexplicably put his arm around her, but when she heard him mentioning Aunt Susan, she stopped her outstretched hand and put it back.

“Let's go, just ignore him."

She took Roland's forearm and walked towards the inpatient building.

Danis wanted to chase, but Angela patience had been pushed to its limit. She took the phone and waved it in front of Danis’ eyes. Then she said in a cold voice,

"Do you want me to call your family and fiancee and tell them that you're pestering me at the hospital?"

Hearing this, Danis took a step back. He looked at the disgust and hatred in Angela's eyes, which made his heart hurt a little. He felt sad, angery, guilty, and some reluctant. He didn’t want to let her go.

Pain and struggle flashed across his eyes. He hesitated again and again, watching Angela with Roland's arm and left.

The moment they entered the inpatient department, Roland loosen his arm and took a step back. He kept an appropriate distance between him and Angela, and then he apologized,

"My aunt always mentioned your name ‘Angela’, so I called you by your name just now, and I hope you don't mind."

"My last name is Chante, and my first name is Angela."

Angela explained. And then she asked as she glanced at his badge,

"You're Aunt Susan’s nephew who's studying in America?"

Roland smiled, as if there was starlight shining under his eyes. Then he answered, "Well, I just came back yesterday. Let me formally introduce myself… my name is Roland."

“My mother gave me the name because she knew some actor named “Roland” who was very successful and handsome.”

“My father agreed to give me this name because it was the name of his favorite writer.” Roland explained.

"Does that mean you’re talented in literature, and you will be successful, handsome as well?"

Angela smiled lightly.

The dimples on Roland's cheeks deepened a bit. His smile was so charming. He replied, "Yah, you got the point."

"Thank you for what you just did."

Angela narrowed the curve of her mouth and said softly.

Roland took off his white coat and put it on his arm. Then he said, "It's fine, you are welcome."

He paused. Then he asked with a softer voice,

"If you don't mind…

My aunt told me that you had some problems with your right leg, right?"

"Just a little."

Angela answered and tried to hide her lame leg.

"You can't tell I'm a cripple if you don't look closely.

But if you take a closer look... it was very obvious."

Roland gave her feet a veiled sweep and lamented.

"You must have suffered a lot when training yourself to walk like a norml person?"

“That’s okay.”

Angela answered and tried to hide her leg again. She was frowning.

"I know I’ve already asked too much. We’ve just met minutes ago."

Roland curled his lips and said sincerely.

"But I'm an expert on this, and my aunt said you were a dancer. She always wanted me to help you recover."

Angela took out her phone and checked the time. Then she looked up at him and said,

"Thank you for your kindness, but there's no need. There are people waiting for me, so I have to go now."

As soon as Angela finished speaking, Luna came running down with a nervous look. She asked, "Angela, how are you..."

As she ran a little closer, she noticed a strange man standing beside Angela. So she stopped to asked,

"And this one is…?"

"Hello, I'm Aunt Susan's nephew, Roland, a doctor specializing in leg diseases."

Roland introduced himself before Angela could speak.

Hearing the words 'specializing in leg diseases', Luna's eyes lit up. She asked with her thrilled voice, ''You specializes in leg diseases?

Then can you cure Angela?

Her legs were snapped by someone two years ago, but days ago a doctor said she still had hope!"
